I went in for estradiol pellets to help relieve a few menopause symptoms. At a later visit, while describing new symptoms, Dr. Rastegar discovered and acknowledged she had forgotten to prescribe progesterone, which is a necessary part of this procedure. She inserted another estrogen pellet before addressing the issue, and added a prescription for progesterone. Once I started taking the progesterone, for the next few months I experienced heavy bleeding and painful cramping, ultimately requiring an ultrasound at my own expense that showed a thickened uterine lining, which is a documented result of receiving estradiol without progesterone. When I raised concerns about the prolonged bleeding, discomfort, and the initial oversight, the response was dismissive and framed as "just a risk of HRT". Dr. Rastegar held no accountability of her oversight, nor did she offer meaningful support. Hormone therapy requires careful management and follow-up. That standard was not met in my case, and I want other women to be fully informed before seeking similar treatment here.

However, this company has left a very bad taste in my mouth and I can't recommend them. A while back, I had tried to get appts for a treatment, but was forced to late cancel twice due to me contracting covid and then my elementary aged daughter contracting covid, once I had a cold sore and they asked me not to come in, and once because I am a displaced elementary teacher and was asked to teach last minute. As a displaced teacher, it is crucial to be available so they will call you again in the future. Rinnova charged me for these late cancellations, which was okay. I understood they were not able to fill that slot regardless of what had gone awry for me. It was a short string of bad luck when I've never had issues with coming to my appts there in the past. For my last appt, they told me it would be no problem to reschedule but that if I canceled one more time then they would not be able to book me in the future. I of course understood this to be the agreement and so I accepted the substitute teaching job for the day and rescheduled, and honored our agreement. Everything seemed fine. I just tried to schedule the same procedure a year later. I intentionally waited until summer so that any substitute teaching assignments would not conflict. After booking my appt, Rinnova called me to say I am not welcome at their business any longer, despite having come to the last appt. It is so disappointing to see a business not be understanding about two conflicts due to covid and the plight of a displaced educator. I honored our verbal agreement which they proposed, and they retracted it a year later; and over the phone, made me feel embarrassed and shamed for it.

The claim on Sciton's website states that with their new BBL HEROic treatment, "patients can see noticeable improvements almost immediately". After additional research to find the right provider, I chose Youthbar (based on their reviews) and paid $1,200 to have the Sciton BBL HEROic treatment on my face, neck and chest. Sadly, I haven't seen any noticeable / visible improvements. When the esthetician (Alexis) texted me to see how I was doing after the treatment, I called her back to share my disappointment regarding the lack of results. Alexis then proceeded to blame me for setting my expectations too high and told me that I needed to have a series of treatments before seeing any results. Throughout our phone conversation, she kept saying, "as we discussed prior to your treatment" at the end of almost every sentence. FYI - my expectations ARE extremely reasonable due to the fact that I've had multiple successful skin treatments elsewhere in the past (including Sciton IPL and BBL) with visibly good results after only one treatment. This is exactly why I chose to have another BBL treatment (this time with Sciton's latest improved technology / equipment). Please note that I wasn't blaming Alexis, but it certainly felt like she was shaming me for choosing the Sciton BBL HEROic treatment. Of course, she did mention several times how great the $3,500 CO2 laser treatment is and how it would take care of all of my skin issues. While I'm sure it's wonderful, I had explained to her multiple times (on the day of the BBL treatment) why I didn't want to have the CO2 laser treatment at this time. So, in response to the lack of results with the BBL treatment, Alexis suggested that I text her photos showing the areas of concern and then come back in 6 weeks to talk to her and another esthetician about it (and possibly have another treatment - BBL for the face for $600). Not only is this poor customer service, but dismissing a client's concerns regarding the treatment outcome is not beneficial to anyone. This is not how you grow your business. At the very least, Alexis should have invited me to come back to Youthbar to look at my skin IN PERSON and then figure out how to rectify the situation. Before this negative ordeal, I was excited and looking forward to having other treatments at Youthbar. However, after my experience, I cannot recommend this place. Apparently, they don't care if clients are unhappy when there are no visible results and they certainly aren't willing to make it right (unless you intend on spending more money).

From start to finish, the experience is refreshingly straightforward and professional. Debbie and her team are knowledgeable, caring, and genuinely talented. You're treated like a person, not a sales opportunity. They take time to explain options, answer questions clearly, and never push unnecessary treatments or products. The approach is down to earth, honest, and confidence-building -- exactly what you want when it comes to skin and laser care. Logistically, this place is a dream. I've never had to wait for an appointment, the booking process is incredibly easy, and parking is always a breeze. It's convenient in every sense of the word, which makes regular visits feel manageable instead of stressful. The location itself adds to the charm. Laser RN is housed in a historic Broomfield cottage that's been thoughtfully converted into a treatment space. It feels warm and welcoming rather than clinical or intimidating -- calm, clean, and comfortable. They also offer quality skincare products alongside their services, and the expertise across laser treatments and electrolysis is clear. You can tell this is a team that knows what they're doing and cares about long-term results, not quick fixes. If you're looking for laser treatments or electrolysis in Broomfield with a knowledgeable team, easy scheduling, and zero hassle, I highly recommend Laser RN. I am actually getting compliments on how good I look (it's summer so everyone thinks it's. tan - but it's not! It's Rachel's beautiful work). I'll be 40 in September and I look smooth and flawless. Best part is when I smile, it's an actual smile and not frozen-Botox look. FWIW, I've been getting Botox and Dysport for about 13 years. I've done it all - the big city spas that charge an arm and a leg (I was in San Francisco for 10 years), plastic surgeons in Denver and also spas in Boulder. I actually go and interview people before I commit because I am not about to walk around with a frozen face for six months because I was over-injected. I want to get a feel for how they treat their customers and I've seen it all. Boulder is lucky to have Rachel. She is on par with the spas in metro cities, which are very competitive and only those who understand a natural look survive. Can't sing her enough praises. When I was diagnosed with breast cancer last November, Nathan Roesner intervened during the most daunting period of my life; he helped me. To add to the hellish diagnosis, I was hit with the death of my younger sister, Maya, who passed away the very day before I visited the Aura office. Dr. Roesner was incredibly empathetic when he and I first met. He shared that he had lost a dear friend of his earlier that year. His words were precisely what I needed to hear that day. He then explained the complex phased breast reconstruction process using visual aids and sketches. The plan reassured me that I was in excellent hands. On December 20th, 2023, I had a double mastectomy, and then Roesner performed Phase 1 of my reconstruction. The following day, I awakened and immediately leaped out of bed to look in the hospital mirror. I unzipped the white sports bra the surgical staff had placed me in and took a good look at myself. The Tissue Expansion Devices (TEDs) were slightly filled. I am so grateful that I didn't have to go through the additional trauma of waking up flat-chested. My post-surgical pathology report revealed that more cancer was lurking, so Dr. Roesner had me scheduled to undergo the removal of more tissue, D[r. Roesner's surgical coordinator deserves a quick shout-out. She got me in the OR before any metastasis occurred. THANK YOU.] The more radical clearance of breast tissue led to an epically received report of NED (No Evidence of Disease)...not even any RESIDUAL disease remained in my system - (or at least none that can be detected by the state-of-the-art surveillance systems we have to date). Roesner removed some of the air from the TEDs to protect the fresh incisions from the stress of being stretched. I looked deflated, which was not very cute, but only briefly, for the air fills began shortly, eventually replaced with saline. During that second surgery, Roesner also removed a chemotherapy port from my chest that I wouldn't be needing. Having the port so seamlessly removed was a tremendous relief for me. Over the next few months, I would visit the AURA office for TED fills and facial treatments, including BBLs - Broad Band Light laser treatments. Master medical esthetician Kerri McMain performed my BBLS and other facial work. Kerri is probably one of the most careful, competent medical estheticians to have ever worked on my face, neck, and decolléte. As a licensed esthetician, I am highly selective with who wields a laser over my skin; I knew I was safe with Roesner's practice. I even brought my 11-year-old daughter in as we were struggling to clear up her acne. Not only did Kerri work on her face with great care, but she also gave us fresh ideas regarding care and prevention. With just a single microdermabrasion session at AURA, there was marked improvement in my daughter's skin. Kerri is also a delight to converse with; she seems genuinely concerned about the health and beauty of the patient's skin and overall wellness. I felt valued as a patient at AURA. The desk attendants always seem upbeat and accommodating. Dr Roesner's Nurse, Tanya, was the one who typically performed my TED fills (gradually expanding the breasts via painless needle puncture). Even with the injections, undergoing those fills proved to be some of the most incredible medical fun ever. Growing breasts was an absolute blast for me! Nurse Tanya was always a pleasure to see, as was every other individual who works at Aura, conveniently located near Pearl Street in Boulder, Colorado. My reconstruction has become more aesthetically pleasing than 97% of the reconstructions I have viewed. [Mind you, I am a brutal critic.] Since the 3rd surgery (swapping out the TEDs for silicone implants) on April 22nd, 2024, I have noticed that my breasts are outstanding in symmetry. They are also my preferred size -my original size- and have minimal scarring. Dr Roesner must have used some technique that looks anything like butchery. Best of all, the new breasts feel like they BELONG inside my body; they cause me zero pain; granted, I am half numb, but with consistent scar massage, the sensation is starting to return. What's a nice bonus is that I can wear almost all of my favorite pre-mastectomy bras. I had some pretty great native breasts before all of this, so the bar was set very high for Dr. Roesner. By the grace of God working through him, he managed to hit the high bar. He hit it aesthetically as well as perfectly excising an invasive cancer that would have left my daughter without a mother. Instead, I was SAVED, and I have literally been resurrected. So, I insist that you give AURA a go.
