After my third office visit with in three years I find him very thorough with a full body scan. He is the kind of Dr. that I like to visit.

Though it is a tiny price to pay for two wonderful and healthy children, the journey to get my…read morestomach/abs back to a place I feel confident in has been a long one! My abs were always one of my best assets but after two c-sections in my late thirties, things were very different. After my first daughter everything was fine but after my second I had moderate-severe diastasis (a little more than two fingers width apart) and an umbilical hernia. I figured eventually things would go back to normal with diet, exercise and some targeted core work. I worked out diligently and lost most of the fat off of my stomach but the "pooch" of my abs remained stretched out and just wouldn't go down. Prior to babies I worked in the aesthetic field so I was familiar with all of the different devices and though some helped with skin texture/laxity nothing made my stomach or waistline come back "in". I did physical therapy with a diastasis specialist for 10 weeks, met with two plastic surgeons about tummy tucks (which seemed way overkill for what I wanted to address), and finally met with a general surgeon who told me he couldn't do much aside from repair the umbilical hernia and that I should just 'accept my new body and embrace it'. We are our own worst critics, after all! I took his feedback into consideration and decided against surgery but I continued to struggle with the lack of core strength and the issues that caused. I love to workout and lift weights but nothing was the same after two c-sections. My abs were separated, yes, but they were also cut apart twice and if felt like my lower abdominals just weren't awake. Without being able to fully brace my core I was wobbly and my body tried to compensate by transferring weight and force to my knees, hips and lower back which resulted in many sore nights and trips to PT and chiro. I had heard about Emsculpt years before but in August of 2021 heard from a friend that it really helped her get strong again in her core. I got the package with Dermatology Center of The Rockies-4 total, 1 every week and I cant say enough about what a HUGE difference it has made. I started out on a very low level for my first treatment--the abs near my incision weren't even awake and the sensation of contractions for those lower muscles was very odd but by the end of the first treatment I could tell that things were "waking up"! By the second week we were able to go up quite a bit and I was a little sore afterwards--a great feeling. By the third treatment I felt very strong and after the fourth I noticed an extreme difference aesthetically but also strength wise. I was back to feeling strong!! The treatments do not hurt and there is no downtime. I brought a book to read and the team at Dermatology Center of the Rockies was very attentive during the treatment. I came back after 2 months for my follow up pictures and I am absolutely thrilled. What an incredible treatment to have that does so much aesthetically but also functionally.

My wife and I had a general dermatology check up w/Dr. Warren. We really enjoyed the visit and…read morecheckup. It seemed thorough and she communicated concerns well. I asked about the cost of burning some lesions and she mentioned it would be 5/$75. She did not say that was cosmetic only and that pre-cancer lesions were different. My wife and I counted the times Dr. Warren burned lesions off each of us. It was 5 or less for each of us. Long story short, I was charged for 15+ lesions removed (none of them cosmetic apparently). The communication purposefully deceptive as Dr. Warren knew we were concerned about cost. Upon receiving the bill, I protested and received the map of lesions removed. There were 6 in one spot (one burn, six charges)...none of them communicated to me or us. BE AWARE, Dermatology Center of The Rockies billing practices are dishonest and unfair. They over bill the insurance company thinking the patient won't worry about paying the difference. So sad.

Dr. Stacey Pilkington is the best dermatologist I've ever had. I had a bunch of sebaceous glands…read moreand was breaking out on a regular basis. Dr. Pilkington helped me develop a comprehensive treatment plan to clear up my skin fast. Prior to meeting with her, I was on Proactiv; it took some convincing, but she eventually converted me to prescription products, which, much to my chagrin, worked much better. Then, I was switched from VitaClear (Proactiv's vitamin/mineral supplement) to Skin Accumax, another game changer. Next, I was subjected to cautery on my sebaceous glands, which was initially very painful on my skin (to me it felt like I was getting stung by wasps), but a magical buzz device made it relatively painless. Finally, I did microneedling with Tegan Ryan to attenuate my acne scars. Throughout this entire process, I e-mailed Dr. Pilkington several questions -- she always responded the very same day. Tegan Ryan is the only aesthetician I've ever had, but she is without question the best. Microneedling was a little scary to me at first (just the sound of it made me cringe). Tegan put me at ease with her calm demeanor as well as lovely conversation -- I didn't feel any pain whatsoever even though she made me look like she'd just beaten me in an MMA fight. After three sessions of microneedling, several scars have not only diminished but practically disappeared! Upon completing the above comprehensive skin treatment plan over the course of just a few months, my skin looks much more youthful, I dare say like Dr. Pilkington's and Tegan's. In any event, I'm in my mid-thirties and am now happily getting carded again on a regular basis. :) Dr. Pilkington, Tegan, and the entire team -- Nicole, Matt, Courtney, Lindsay, etc. -- are truly exceptional. They all go the extra mile; if they ever don't know something right away, they research the answer and give me a quick call back. I'm so happy I decided to go to Azeal and highly recommend you do the same!

I called to schedule a new patient exam and was asked what I'm interested in. After answering that question (with my concern about potential skin cancer) was I told that the doctors are not accepting new patients. I told the receptionist that it was strange to be asked what I'm interested in first, if the doctor is not accepting new patients. I asked if the answer would be different if I was interested in cosmetic services and she told me "yes". There would be a significant wait, but I could schedule for a cosmetic consult, and I could not have medical concerns addressed at such a visit. This told me everything I need to know about this practice. Skin cancer, which is potentially lethal, is not something they have time for - cosmetics pay much more.

Appointment was made efficiently within a very reasonable wait time , questions answered patiently . Check -in to their lovely Boulder office with parking out front was an extra bonus . I was originally hesitant that PAs do the routine visits but after an appointment with Brooke Lewis I was so glad I did this . Not only was her exam more thorough than I had gotten previously on an annual , she said she was a few minutes late coming in to the room as she WAS REVIEWING MY RECORDS !! Many times in other Drs offices I wondered why I bothered sending . I know her minor finding and on the spot treatment may have been overlooked elsewhere and could potentially be lifesaving . .. This is a place where if I had future questions or concerns I know they would be addressed and I could be seen if needed . After my appointment in January, I was initially told I would not receive a bill. A few months later, my credit card was charged $28, which was not an issue. However, when the charge appeared on my bank card, it showed up as "Boulder Valley Dental Office" rather than Boulder Valley Dermatology. Because the charge name did not match the provider I visited, I reasonably believed it could be fraudulent and reported it to my bank. I later spoke with Flora in the billing department, who explained that they are aware of this issue and have been trying to resolve it for over a year. I was also told this problem primarily affects customers using certain banks. Unfortunately, despite the confusion being caused by the billing descriptor, I was still charged a late fee. My original balance was approximately $28, but I recently received a bill for $63 due to added fees. While I appreciate Flora's assistance during our phone conversation, I was ultimately told by her supervisor that I was responsible for paying the full amount, which I did. I truly like the medical staff and the care I receive here, but this situation felt unprofessional and unfair. At a minimum, patients should be proactively warned that charges may appear under a completely different business name to help avoid unnecessary fraud disputes and late fees. The professional thing to do here would be to give me those late fees back.
