Great service, met the owner, nice guy, well curated beers on tap (I think they generally have 16 on tap) ranging from a few from overseas if you are in to Belgians or what have you and then a well chosen selection of great beers from all over - maybe a bit California heavy but there is a helluva lot of great beer in California. I hate going in to a so-called taproom and I can't find anything I have never had on tap. Why go to a place with a bunch of variety of there is nothing new? Typical corporate or beer-illiterate taproom: "Well we have this great IPA from Lagunitas, its their IPA have you heard of Lagunitas? What about Sam Adams? Oh and we have Guinness if you are into *throws finger quotes* dark beers. Oh we also have Sierra Nevada Pale I think it comes all the way from NorCal!" Ugh. Again - great rotating selection here...and a bonus couple of coolers where you can score some cans and bottles to go of some more great craft beer. Ambiance is local bar/brewery, they have food some nights (had a great smashburger from Goodland Grillers tonight) and trivia on Thursdays. There I included the word ambiance are you happy Yelp? Cheers.

Everything was set up so nice, and we had use of the couch/fireplace area. We had a buffet with tri tip, chicken, salad and sides. So delicious! The service was phenomenal, constantly checking in to make sure we had what we needed. The weather cooperated for December and the sunset was breathtaking. I also come here often for happy hour which I love. Highly recommend!!

I was pleased to see that happy hour was still being offered despite the holiday. The menu offers a nice selection of bites and discounted drinks at great prices! For food, we ordered the carne asada flatbread, onion rings, garlic herb fries, and chicken wings. All of which were enjoyable! Although, I will mention that the carne asada had a slightly funny taste that wasn't very pleasing. It was tolerable, but could have been better. Despite that, the food was delicious. We also ordered the white chocolate & raspberry cheesecake. The cheesecake comes from the Cheesecake Factory! So, you know it's going to be good and it was. The presentation was beautiful as well. For drinks, I had the Prickly Pear margarita and Paloma. Both were well made and refreshing to drink. I love the rooftop vibes here! The layout is great and the views are amazing. More like Mountain View's, but still nice to be up high with sky views. There's also a restroom available, so you don't have to go downstairs. Our waitress Caitlyn was such a sweetheart throughout our visit. She had great recommendations and consistently checked on us. The music was great and it was good vibes all around! They have different bands that play here. Check out their website or instagram for more information on that. Overall, a lovely time was had and I would definitely come back here.

My card wasn't working because I had just signed out of my iCloud so I had to re-sign in and he told me that, if I couldn't get my card ready, he wasn't gonna ring me up again. From the minute I walked in he was being completely rude to me. This was my first time ever coming here and I never wanna come back because of the way this guy treated me. When I got my card ready he ignored me and I asked him if he could ring me up please and he said all right if you're ready in a sarcastic tone. After rang me up , I asked him if he was the manager bc the only send allowed to treat people like that would be the business owner he told me he "wasn't the manager, if he was, he wouldn't be there on a Sunday night", For the dude who had this interaction with me. If you see this message, I hope you go find another job and stop being an asshole to people. I literally came in with a good attitude. I usually don't let these type of people get me down, but this guy was extremely rude and he just continued to be rude throughout this whole experience. The place is also very clean and well put together. They need to find better workers here if they want to stay in business.

The selection impressed me from the first time I walked in. Really, it was better than I expected for the tiny college eating/drinking/shopping/services area that is Isla Vista, even knowing there would be a large number of beer aficionados here. There is an entire aisle of refrigerator cases stocked with four- and six-packs of beer, and another aisle is half cold case, half unrefrigerated beer in cans and mostly large-format bottles. The breadth of brewing companies and styles presents beers from many countries and likely has something for every palate. I see a few one-star reviews and I can't speak to the experiences those people had. I can say that I have never felt I was treated rudely. Perhaps this is because I'm a graduate student, though that really shouldn't have anything to do with it. I also haven't had cause to ask any questions about selection, because I let the beers give me all the info I need. But I do make smalltalk with the employees while at the register, and it's always been fine. There's also an impressively large selection of other types of liquors, liqueurs, and mixers, and some snacks as well. I've seen quite a few interesting looking bottles I'd be interested in trying, if I had more time to drink (grad student) and more money (yeah, grad student). I hope this store survives the Covid-19 pandemic. For those who stay in IV, drinking may be a pretty appealing activity, so I expect it will.

I had stopped going to this liquor store long ago, because I always felt the rude, older lady who is always working at the counter was over-charging me. I went there again last night after avoiding the place for over a year. That was a mistake. The older lady was again at the counter. I brought up four $.99 ice cream bars to the counter. She rang me up a total of over $8 initially. I said something along the lines of, "Hey, these say they are $.99 a piece on the package.." She said, "Ok." And she re-rang me up. The total this time was $4.74. How, when sales tax here is 7.75%, could she possibly have reached that total? I asked her for a receipt, and she told me that they were out of receipt tape. Its not the few cents I am concerned about. Its the utter unscrupulousness with which they run their business. A horrible sales lady with a horrible attitude, selling a poor selection of beers and wines at inflated prices... and she still tries to charge a few extra cents on even the simplest of transactions.... Like I told that woman last night, I am never going there again. I believe it would be in your best interest to buy your liquor, beer, snacks or anything else anywhere else. I created this Yelp account just to vent my displeasure at this business. Hopefully I saved some people from heading in to this thoroughly disappointing establishment.
