With fresh fruit and a FREE supplement of my choosing??? Sign me up !!!! I tried the blue banana (blueberry banana) and purple banana (blueberry + strawberry banana) and both were amazinggggg!! Strawberry blueberry has a more tart flavor, I'm biased towards the plain blueberry banana. It's thick, smooth, creamy, everything I've ever wanted in a smoothie but apparently haven't gotten before. We got one with the total multivitamin and one with the probiotic. Free supplement is insane I can't believe they're so generous. Will definitely come back the next time I'm in SB!! As someone who's lived in the area before, anytime I come up to the SB area for whatever reason. It is customary to have a bare minimum 2 blenders for the weekend. I think walking into a blenders is the quintessential Ventura/SB experience. You get small town vibes, people from all age groups go there and it is normally really relaxed compared to big cities. Blenders is a ventura regional chain so they have a couple of locations from Camarillo to South of San Luis Obispo. all drinks come with an extra supplement depending on what you're wanting at that time. Here's the low down on what I got: The Antioxidant: never had it before but was craving something healthy after festivities; it was definitely more powdery of a smoothie than I was normally expecting from the usual drinks I get. Likely from the pea protein. Tropical Guava: easily hands down my go to drink as it combines my love for guava, and pineapple. I got the extra energy supplement as it was a late drive home. The staff was helpful in giving me a refresher on what to expect from certain drinks on the menu. Parking was convenient as the store is located in a shopping plaza with a costco and home depot. Cashier even put my name down wrong, no where near my name - the only way I knew it was mine was because of the color of the drinks ordered. This is our Sunday morning stop with the kids for a Farmers market break. They love to get the small cups and try different smoothies. Today was tropical mango and blue banana. It amazes me how quick the smoothies are made since the line can be long. I've visited this Blenders in the Grass location here in Goleta a couple of times now pre covid and now during covid. I've been to a couple of other locations before in the past so I'm already a fan. I always tend to get a variation of a piña colada. All their drinks are really great with a robust and strong taste. I've tried the acai bowls and those were really good as well. Overall, no complaints and it's exactly what I was expecting here. There's nothing out of the ordinary to complain about. Now during covid they are pushing their online ordering system. I don't know if it was because it was maybe 1 hr to closing time they turned off the functionality perhaps? There were 2 lovely team members working and they had a good system down where one would ask what we wanted and they'd go work on the drink and then at a certain point they'd tell the other girl what the order was so they could run it on the register. They were able to crank out the orders pretty quickly and I was impressed since there was a good amount of people in line. One good thing is they are open way later than most of the other establishments nearby so that's probably why there was a line. So I was glad they were open and I made sure to stop in. Stopped by to try their smoothies since I was in the getting lunch next door. 50/50 - tastes like an orange cream popsicle in smoothie form! It's orange juice, orange sherbet and yogurt blended together. If you're a fan of orange or orange cream desserts, I'd recommend! Tropical Guava - guava didn't really stand out. I could taste the pineapple and strawberries more. It's a blend of guava juice, strawberries, banana, yogurt, and pineapple sherbet. I liked it but it needed more guava flavor if the smoothie is called tropical guava. Overall, their smoothies are less sweet than the ones at Jamba Juice but slightly sweeter than the ones at Nektar. (Jamba juice does not do that for you. Albeit the drinks being high in sugar, it's always a great pick me up and a staple as an SB county resident. Most of their blends are a mix of fruits, juice, and sherbet/yogurt/ice milk. Every drink comes with one free supplement. You can add chia seeds, probiotic, calcium, antioxidants, etc. Pre-COVID, I loved their reusable cups and how they would give a small discount for bringing it in. My all time favorite has to be Blue Banana, which is a creamy concoction of milk, blueberries, banana, and "ice milk". Great consistency, decently sweet, and super refreshing. Peanut Butter is a close second, which is an indulging blend of chocolate, peanut butter, milk, banana. It's super sweet, basically a milkshake. The red orange is what my fiancé likes getting but it reminds me of this orange powdery drink I used to drink in Argentina which was like a refreshing soda type drink but it tastes powdery. The service was great and the ambiance is the same at all the Blenders locations. Green white and orange are the colors they stick too so they come off as a healthy drink place. I've been visiting Santa Barbara for like 14 years now, but I don't know if I ever had Blenders in the Grass before! It's definitely an establishment in SB and the surrounding towns. Last Saturday was no exception, as there was a line out the door at this Camino Real location. The production line was running quickly and smoothly and there were never more than 4 people waiting for their drinks after ordering. I went for the original. They include one free "supplement" but the descriptions were a bit vague so I skipped it. It was a good smoothie, a little heavy on the yogurt for me but it reminded me a little of an orange julius, which I haven't had for years, so that was nice. It was a bit inconsistently blended - which isn't surprising since they were in a hurry. The 12oz serving (around $4) was plenty for me as an afternoon snack/treat after a big brunch and before dinner. Whenever we are in the Santa Barbara area, my wife and I have to have smoothies from Blenders. I am not sure what they do that's special but no other smoothie place comes close. My wife always gets the carrot and I pick something at random. We visited twice and I had the Recovery smoothie and the Tropical Mango. The staff was friendly and efficient as always.
