There's a difference between customer service and genuinely caring about the people you serve…read more Lizzy is the latter. I sat down at Señor Taco one evening during the dinner rush. While I ate, I watched Lizzy help ten or twelve customers at the counter in about 20 minutes, and it was honestly impressive. Not one interaction felt robotic; each had its own flavor. If someone was in a hurry, she got them taken care of fast without cutting corners. If they had kids, she engaged the kids. The regulars, she already knew their orders. Her cheer never dipped, and when a customer got difficult, she stayed professional without missing a beat. She radiated happiness and clearly enjoyed making other people's day. I've eaten at a lot of restaurants. I'm not exaggerating when I say Lizzy's service beats evenings I've had at five-star restaurants. I've been back several times since, and her service hasn't slipped once. Eventually I asked for her name so I could write this review. She never asked for it. She earned it.

The interior is nothing exciting, but overall clean. All the staff were pretty friendly, and the food came out quickly. Overall, I've had better Mexican food, but it hit the spot. Definitely somewhere I'd go when other locations I prefer are closed.

The salsas are all wonderful. I really liked the spicy green salsa. Chips are fresh, light and crispy. I highly recommend this place. Can I add another star?

They also let me know about their happy hour, their Taco Tuesday deal ($2.50 each), and that they have menudo and pesole on the weekends. I ended up going with the taco plate, all carne asada, and wow... these tacos were loaded with juicy, flavorful meat. No skimping here! I also grabbed chips and salsa on the side, and let me just say--homemade chips and tortillas make all the difference. Crisp, warm, and absolutely addicting. The salsa wasn't my absolute favorite, but you could tell it was fresh. The space is super inviting with plenty of indoor seating and big windows that make it perfect for people-watching. There's even a cozy little bar area if you're just dropping in for a quick drink and bite. Such a solid neighborhood taco spot--casual, welcoming, and downright delicious. I'll definitely be back!

My companion and I arrived at 5:00 and the place was already packed. Fortunately, we were seated quickly and had a really nice waitress. We started out with virgin strawberry margarita's , which were perfect. Chips and salsa came quickly and we both remarked how good the chips were. Very light and thin, and the salsa was so good that I brought a quart of it home. For main courses, my companion ordered 2 tacos. They were pronounced excellent and came with a side of rice that was so tasty that my companion ate the whole portion. Since my companion seemed to have a bottomless pit tonight, fried ice cream was ordered for dessert. My companion almost finished it, leaving a tiny bit of the ice cream for me! For myself, I had the fajitas. It came sizzling on the platter as it should, and was accompanied by 3 steaming hot corn tortillas, guacamole, crema, and green salsa. Finishing it all was an act of stuffing, as the portion was huge, but I made a valiant effort. My companion wanted me to eat some of the fried ice cream, but after my huge dinner and 2 virgin strawberry margarita's, there just was no more room. Service was quick, and the place was nice and clean. It's worth noting that they have a happy hour from 3 to 6. I have eaten at Manuel's before and the food is always excellent. Their taco salad is so big that most people cannot finish it. 5 stars for a wonderful meal, good service, and cleanliness

But the burrito is a better bet if you're hungry. Their red sauce is definitely hot I'll stick with the green!! They were not as cheesy as I like could barely see the cheese. So lost a star for that. We ordered the #1 Birria Tacos with consommé and a fountain drink, along with the chicken burritos since they were on sale too. Overall, the flavors were good. The spicy red and green sauces that came with the burritos really elevated them, although the chicken itself was a bit dry. The red sauce has a nice kick that leaves a slight tingle on your lips without being overwhelming. The birria tacos were the highlight. The rich consommé and melted cheese complemented the tacos well and made for a satisfying bite. Overall, it was a good meal, but without the sauces, the chicken lacked a bit of moisture and flavor. Even so, it definitely hit the spot and satisfied our taco craving. We'd order again--especially if another BOGO deal comes around.

She suggested the torta, so I went with the carne asada torta. She also asked if I wanted an agua fresca. I usually pass on those because of the sugar, but seeing tamarindo took me back to being a kid, so l got one. I originally planned to take it to go, but they had a nice outdoor seating area, so I sat down and ate it there. I am glad I did, because I'd definitely recommend eating the torta right away before it has a chance to get soggy. Overall, the food was good and the staff was great. My only real feedback is the hot salsa was far from hot, and I would have loved a grilled jalapeño on the side with the torta. I probably could have ordered one, but I figured it would come with it. Still a great overall first experience and solid service.
