Las Margaritas - Churros great consistency - Mexican Near Me - Cornwall-on-Hudson, New York

Came by a slow time for a quite lunch and I was lucky only 1 of 3 customers here. The server was very nice and always asked if liked the food or needed anything, very good customer service here for sure, felt valued. The usual chips and salsa was alright, the salsa in particular was very flavorful and fresh and just looking at it and it's taste, it was cut and made just before serving. Shellfish soup, honestly my favorite part and one i told my server it's best I had anywhere and my reasoning, usually seafood soups don't put enough seafood and so cheap and like just broth with like 4 pieces, but no there soup has so much eat spoonful had seafood on it and the broth it's self was incredibly rich and flavorful. Now main entree, camarones a la ranchera, rice was alright and was great with broth/sauce. Refried beans with grilled cheese on top, good, not much else other then they got a good grill on cheese I liked. For the shrimp and sauce, this where like the soup I wish similar had more shrimp, since shrimp was cooked so well, and not over cooked where shrinks to nothing and was so tender, sauce was great, not much to say other then trying to drink it. The mixed veggies, nicely stewed and seasoned. A great first visit here and I will have get more soup for sure. read more

We went on a night that there were only a few tables occupied. I hate to give just one star because the food was pretty good, just not great. They advertise for. Authentic Mexican cuisine and honestly, I don't know what area of Mexico they might be from. Like I said, the food was OK, but the service was absolutely horrible. We were told to sit where we wanted and waited without water, utensils or napkins for 25 minutes to at least place a drink order. I finally had to go up and ask at the bar if we could place a drink order. There were four of us. She got to us fairly quickly, but no one offered us flatware or napkins. I found that to be very strange as I've never experienced that. They made no effort to check on us and see if we needed more drinks. Sad to say, but we'll be looking for a more authentic place with at least decent service. read more

I ordered Enchiladas Verde. They were really bland no real flavor and the chicken had some kind of red stuff on it that gave it a funky flavor. The best part of the entire meal was the chips and salsa. My recommendation is drive the mile to the place in Cornwall or to either of the 2 places in Vails gate. Was very disappointed. read more

My wife and I stopped in for dinner tonight on our way home from my father's Celebration of Life. I haven't been in Cornwall in several years. I hear this place has only been open for 4 months. We were greeted immediately and offered either a table or an option to sit at the bar. We chose the bar. It was a quiet Sunday night. They started us quickly with waters and chips with salsa. I ordered a frozen Mango Margarita which was served quite quickly and perfectly. We placed our orders and the food was out quickly, large portions and delicious. My wife couldn't finish her dish there was so much food. I'll agree the prices are a bit on the higher end, but the food quality and service were worth it to me, and I'm a bit of a snob with these things! It's a cute little place. If you're in the area, give them a chance. I wish them great success! read more

The place should be really good but suffers from very slow service. Glacially slow. Expect 30-45 min after you order for your food. We have tried it twice but same result both times Today my plate came out at about 300 degrees. I accidentally touched it while trying to cut my food and immediately burned my finger to a blister. It was nuts. We had 3 kids at the table,l - so glad it was only me that was hurt. The food is ok - but not worth waiting for at all. Unfortunately unlikely to give this place a third try. Several good spots down the road will meet our margarita fix. read more

My friend and I had lunch at this Mexican Restaurant for Cinco de Mayo. We both had the combination dishes at $15.99 each. Food was abundant and delicious. Strawberry margarita was fabulous. Service was quick and server was very attentive. I will be returning. read more

We just happened to be driving by and we saw this little restaurant and decided to try it. We were absolutely amazed that this restaurant wasn't packed on a Saturday afternoon! The food is incredible!! Their rice has got an extra something in it that makes it better than any other Mexican rice I've ever had. A lot of love was put into putting this place together, from the hand painted walls, to the delicately folded napkins. It's in pristine condition and the music bops! Out-of-the-way Mexican food nestled in the bedroom community of Cornwall on Hudson. He wouldn't know it was a Mexican restaurant unless you were looking for it. Decorated Nicely on the inside with many hand painted murals. Liquor license was not in place when we went. I'm sure they will be getting one soon. Food was good but a little bit overpriced. Average cost of a meal was $14. I preferred the chicken over the beef tacos only because the chicken was a little bit more seasoned. Would've been nice to see some different sauces on the table but only salsa with chips was available. Pretty average Mexican food in my opinion. read more

Very friendly staff, outdoor seating near the Hudson and good food. What more could you ask for? I recommend this restaurant and the spicy sausage and shrimp dishes! Bring your own tequila and they will even make you a margarita! read more
