They don't send out touts to get your business like the other restaurants on the front. Depending upon the time of year, parking can be an issue. We have always managed to park on the harbour front early evening say about 18:30. Remember August is the Spanish holiday season too. I have given them 5 stars because the food is always good, but I sometimes question the value for money. By way of an example, the Cafe Latitude in Denia offers better value. Don't be fooled by the fish restaurants on the front. They are not what you see is what you get. Most of the staff at the Baydal have worked there for donkey's years. There English isn't great, but you can get your order across. Do try some Spanish, it is appreciated, even if only get the kids to say "Gracias". I can recommend the sole meunière.

This year, tired of servers that harass you when you walk along the port, I decided to launch my Yelp app, looking out for a good place where we are not accosted every 10 meters! Thanks to Yelp, I found "Baydal" - quite good rated and great location with nice views (port, sea and boats) when you sit on the terrace. Prices are higher than in the other restaurants but it is worth! A lot of local and Spanish people are coming here so it is always a good sign! Thumbs up for this cool address for seafood!

It seemed very touristy and we were hungry so we had stopped at one of the first tapas places that we saw first, just a mere steps away. After we ordered i had to take a look at all the seafood stands that lined the street. Restaurante Playa was among one of the many food stands. They had large platters of fresh seafood on ice which contained different types of lobsters, fish, squid, cuddle fish, oysters, clams, shrimp and scallops. Most of the platters were made for multiple people and we could have easily split one between a few people for about 10€ - 12€. But since we had already ordered and were waiting for our food i decided to come here after for a bite, i could not pass up the opportunity to try such fresh looking seafood. Since we had all ready eaten, those large platters were not an option for just myself, so i just went tapas style and ordered 3 razor clams. There were a few things that you could order by the piece, different types of clams, oysters, shrimp, scallops still in the shell. When the razor clams came they were simply grilled with olive oil, but so tender, meaty and juicy, i was so tempted to order a few more plus a few scallops, but i was so full from having eaten just at the other place as well. I do wish i would have ordered more or would have come here with the group first. After eating i took a walk along the beach and put my feet in the warm Mediterranean ocean. A perfect way to end a nice meal.

I had some tapas, which were all seasoned amazingly. As a main dish I shared a seafood platter, again really tasty and of good quality. They gave us little refreshers through meals that were on the house, such as shots of gazpacho and mango sorbet and liquor for the grownups at the end of our dining. 10/10, would recommend.

Tucked away amongst the samey seafood restaurants on the seafront, this intimate traditional Spanish restaurant serves a comprehensive selection of tapas, washed down with local charm and incredibly friendly service. We were served by David, who was very patient with us trying out our very limited Spanish vocab skills. He was constantly smiling and didn't seem to resent speaking to us in English. We ordered a variety of tapas between 4 of us, including flavoursome anchovies, super-fresh calamari, a local octopus stew and some very brave patatas bravas! We particularly enjoyed the albondigas (scrumptious meatballs) and the capresi salad, ordering two portions of each. A very filling meal for 4 including a bottle of cava and some sparkling water came to €96 without service charge and we were very happy to tip. We'd go back again, no doubt
