We got started with a large plate of mixed salad, bread toasts with melted cheese and garlic and a side of tomato salsa. Melts in your mouth! Then we got freshly baked toasts with sobrasada and melted cheese, the best mussels I have had since Brussels. We were pretty full at that point when the main course arrived - pork fillet with delicious sauce and potatoes and a pot of interesting rice soup with tomato sauce, green peppers, seafood broth and pieces of pork ( at least this is how it tasted). Looked like a fisherman's rice stew. We ended with a coffee and caramelized vanilla ice cream ( I just couldnt manage a cake option). I would come back to Denia just to eat at this place. The food was spectacular; the presentation was beautiful but the meal itself was out of this world, absolutely uniquely delicious and authentic. I sat outside with a few other tables and was given a menu straight away. However it took several minutes for the waiter to pop out and notice I needed my order taken. Water came soon after but he got my wine order wrong, bringing white instead of red. No big deal once resolved but then began the wait for the food. When my first of two dishes arrived, he quickly hurried off leaving me with a plate of fried squid and a slice of lemon. No sauce or dressings. Another several minutes passed until he noticed me waving him down for aioli. I had to ask twice as more time passed without any. Finally my second dish arrived, a tasty bowl of mussels albeit quite small compared to the usual size. It would have been nice with some bread but I wasn't about to wait another 15 minutes for that! The saving grace was that my second glass of wine was comped so that is what the extra star is for. Food was average and I didn't get the experience I was hoping for, even though the Spanish style is slow. I would advise to try another establishment in this area as there are many to choose with less wait.
