i stopped here for lunch along the way from Valencia to Barcelona. It's a nice little fishing port along the ocean with a small beach area. It seemed very touristy and we were hungry so we had stopped at one of the first tapas places that we saw first, just a mere steps away.
After we ordered i had to take a look at all the seafood stands that lined the street. Restaurante Playa was among one of the many food stands. They had large platters of fresh seafood on ice which contained different types of lobsters, fish, squid, cuddle fish, oysters, clams, shrimp and scallops. Most of the platters were made for multiple people and we could have easily split one between a few people for about 10€ - 12€. But since we had already ordered and were waiting for our food i decided to come here after for a bite, i could not pass up the opportunity to try such fresh looking seafood.
Since we had all ready eaten, those large platters were not an option for just myself, so i just went tapas style and ordered 3 razor clams. There were a few things that you could order by the piece, different types of clams, oysters, shrimp, scallops still in the shell. When the razor clams came they were simply grilled with olive oil, but so tender, meaty and juicy, i was so tempted to order a few more plus a few scallops, but i was so full from having eaten just at the other place as well. I do wish i would have ordered more or would have come here with the group first.
After eating i took a walk along the beach and put my feet in the warm Mediterranean ocean. A perfect way to end a nice meal. read more
