The macarons were very good. $1.50 each (the size of a 50cent coin). They offered two types of flan: tres leche and de coco. I'm not a fan of coconut so I decided to try the three-milk one. Do not waste ur money on this place. I have been to this place many times and they used to be great. Today it was the worst food I have ever had. I waited 1 hour for our food. We ordered 3 bandeja paisas and two fried fish. When it came the food was ice cold. I told them it was cold they looked at me like I was in the wrong. The server had the worst attitude after. Did not come back to see how we were after they heated the food in the microwave. Basically threw the receipt on the table at the end. The tostones were raw, fish was cold. The server was more interested in working the counter than serving our table. Spent 130 dollars on the most horrible cold food. They lost a customer. Not worth the money they are charging. Stumbled upon this place looking for some late breakfast/early lunch and was very impressed. They were very welcoming and told us all about their food. Big letters with their name. I was offered a table and a few minutes later, brought a menu. The young lady pointed to the specials and I immediately chose one of those. Not long, a big bowl of black beans followed by a platter of food was placed before me. Interesting combination of spiced ground beef, fried plantains, white rice and a cold side which I enjoyed thoroughly. I quite literally cleared the plate. Omg.... this place is A-MAZ-ING !!!! A group of us had just eaten at the Columbian restaurant Hello Chicken nearby when our waitress told us this bakery was owned by the same people. I bought a round pastry that had guava, cream cheese and caramel inside. The outside was so flakey and dusted in sugar. Next time I have visitors, I'm getting these for breakfast danishes. I bought the alfajores. They are like 2 soft sugar cookies with Carmel between. The Carmel is to die for. It has a slight milky taste and not quite as sweet as the Carmel I'm used to. The macaroons were a tad bit disappointing. They tasted nice but we're a bit cold as if they had been slightly frozen. Just stopped in for lunch, and was quite impressed. As a native Colombian I have been to MANY Colombian restaurants and I've learned what to expect. Also I definitely know the difference between authentic and not, and this restaurant is the real deal. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. We went in to this place on Saturday around 12:30pm for lunch. Understandably, they were busy. We waited about 15-20 minutes for a table, that was fine but everything went downhill from there. An older gentleman sat us down and the first thing to come out of his mouth was that the people who had arrived after us (a family of 4) had said something to him about getting a table and he was mocking them. Red flag #1. It took about 10 minutes for the waitress to come and take our drink order. I placed my order and a couple minutes later a server came and brought my drink. He brought the wrong one, but after all the waiting I told him it was fine, I'd keep what he brought. It took OVER ONE HOUR to receive our food, two soups. I watched as other tables who arrived after us were already half way through their meals. My partner who was sitting facing the kitchen noticed a tray with two soup bowls on the food counter and was hopeful it was our food. Well, it never came out. At that point we were so close to leaving, when the same older gentlemen came to clean up the table behind us after a couple with two small children left. He looks at us and says "ugh finally, they been here for 3 hours, they finally left" - you are talking about your customers, the ones who bring you business and this is how you talk about them? I ignored him and said hey, we've been sitting here for over one hour waiting for our food. He then tells me to "calm down" - it's coming table per table because they are busy. He then walks over to "check on our food" - well the soups that had been sitting under the warmer for who knows how long turned out to be ours. My soup was lukewarm at best. At that point , I just decided to shut up , eat and get the heck out of there. The same server who brought me the wrong drink came over asking if we needed anything, he offered limes and sauce to which I said yes please! Well I never got them, he never brought them over. I was over it and we left. When trying to pay they couldn't even figure out who our server was. What a hot mess and poor excuse of a restaurant. Save your time and money, there are much better Colombian restaurants in the area. This is not about the wait times, but the POOR customer service. read more

So my after lots of Love Week fun with my church, my incredible bestie {who's Colombian} took me to one of her favorite Colombian restaurants. I love when she and I can drive around the city, serve all day and be foodies! When I walked in the restaurant they have lots of decorations celebrating the Colombian team during the soccer World Cup. This truly warmed my heart to see the restaurant supporting their country. Then we sat down and the server gave us two menus. One with the lunch specials and a regular one. I liked that she immediacy spoke Spanish to me. Because although my Spanish is VERY minimal I'm still working VERY hard to learn Spanish. It's going to come one day lol. My best friend suggested I pick something from the $6.95 lunch menu. So I followed the pro and ordered myself the chicken plate with fries, rice, beets salad and vegetable soup! Yes you get ALL OF THAT FOR $6.95 lol. Then she ordered the friend fish with fried plantains, beets salad and fish soup. The Friday selection on the lunch specials menu offers three different styles of Colombian lunches. But listen... my vegetable soup... BANGING! I will go back and order that in a pot style if I can lol. It was sooooo good! It made up for how small my chicken breast was. I wasn't too happy about that. My lunch plate had a half piece of chicken breast that was super thin. Then looking at my besties plate and she had two pieces of nicely cut fish. Thankfully she's amazing and shared her fish with me lol. Oh and she ordered us some empanadas which were very yummy and I love the green sauce they gave us too! This review is specifically for the pastry/bakery items rather than entrees, since my friend and I stopped by for something sweet after eating dinner at Hello Chicken n the same shopping center. The pandebono (cheese bread) was recommended to us because they were fresh out of the oven and were the real MVP, though the pineapple pastry and dulce de leche desserts we also got were good. If you've never had pandebono, I definitely suggest it- it's not cheesy in a savory shredded cheese kind of way, but actually slightly sweet. read more

I really enjoyed the food here. Beyond the food, the staff are so kind. It's a family run business, where everyone is happy to be there and the food is all made in house. I had the seafood (Pacifica?) Rice, and the tres leches flan, both were delicious. I usually don't order flan, because I find it so eggy. But this was ordered accidentally when I thought I was ordering tres leche. Boy, am I glad they brought this out... It's was the perfect dessert. The empanadas here are delicious,... To the point that I'm not really sure what I have been eating (when I have ordered empanadas previously) before coming here. They also have this cheese bread (made in house, which is really good.) It took me several months to return to this little family run restaurant/bakery tucked away behind K&W Cafeteria located at Tower Place Shopping Center in Pineville. Although it occupies a space in which several other restaurants have failed, I believe that, based on the bustling crowd the morning that my wife and I had a late breakfast there, it is going to be a long term success. Until this meal, I had no real experience with Colombian food and the fact that we were the only non-Hispanic customers in the packed little dining area only added to our experience. We had the thin steak with onions and peppers and a ham and cheese omelette. Both were prepared perfectly, were savory and very affordable. The accompanying bread however was lackluster which was a little surprising considering their excellent bakery items. Speaking of which, we also tried their homemade cheese buns at $1.25 each and had the Tres Leches Flan (yes, for breakfast dessert) for $3.50, all of which were tasty. The coffee, Colombian of course, was good however it was quite disappointing not having real cream. In fact it was the small things that were the most disappointing, such as serving margarine instead of butter with the bread and regular milk instead of cream with the coffee. We also did not know whether to be seated or stand in line upon arrival however none of that will prevent us from returning. The service was very friendly but a wee bit slow. The sanitary rating was a 95.5 and the entire restaurant was very clean but a little worn and appeared to be somewhat under construction. It's simpleness added to the experience in a way. We definitely plan to return for lunch and for more bakery items! read more

I loved the rice and beans. The carne asada was also good but I didn't care for the chorizo or the fried pork. Also had the fresh passion fruit juice and loved it. I always get a chicken empanada and bandeja paisa (no beans, they always make fun of me for taking the beans out lol) YUM! Always make sure to ask if they have churros, they are to die for. I read someone's review complaining about the coffee...I understand their point of view but omg this place has so many different plates and desserts and they just complained about the coffee not being "authentic" I understand giving 1 star for bad coffee if this was a coffee shop but it's not!
