Food is not as good as before, but service is poor and takes forever to serve a simple sancochó de costilla de res when the soup is right there inside the glass food warmer, they have several people walking around pretending to be busy, they can serve the soup promptly, came 3:30pm, it's 4:20pm just got the soup but completely cold, what it's wrong with this place, I have bad experience before, they ignore you until death, you wait for the bill forever too, I have to stand up and got to the cashier to pay a few times before because the don't come to your table anymore after they serve you, eating the soup while writing this review, the soup taste not good and I feel like I shouldn't eat anymore, the soup doesn't look fresh. It's a no more here for me since I already try several times and noting change but getting worse.
This place was crazy busy! The food was pretty good. The cheese Arepa was decent. Probably wouldn't order it again. The french fries started out super good and then I realized they put some bland fries and with the lovely crunchy fries. Fried yuca - delicious Salad - good, but wet and had tomato stems My friend liked her meal too.
Nice take out bakery. A little spin on the traditional tres leches . Also available in mango, caramel and strawberry. Service was nice and fast. A few table if you want to sit and eat. Nice variety of baked goods.

I'm not sure that I've had Colombian before but that's what is for lunch today. In a large strip plaza, Las Americas is over to the west side and has an easily identifiable store front. Big letters with their name. I was offered a table and a few minutes later, brought a menu. The young lady pointed to the specials and I immediately chose one of those. Not long, a big bowl of black beans followed by a platter of food was placed before me. Interesting combination of spiced ground beef, fried plantains, white rice and a cold side which I enjoyed thoroughly. I quite literally cleared the plate. Absolutely delicious and while not "hot" it was spicy with tasty flavor. Big plate of food, less than $8. Another few bucks for a tip and I was on my way.
It took me several months to return to this little family run restaurant/bakery tucked away behind K&W Cafeteria located at Tower Place Shopping Center in Pineville. Although it occupies a space in which several other restaurants have failed, I believe that, based on the bustling crowd the morning that my wife and I had a late breakfast there, it is going to be a long term success. Until this meal, I had no real experience with Colombian food and the fact that we were the only non-Hispanic customers in the packed little dining area only added to our experience. We had the thin steak with onions and peppers and a ham and cheese omelette. Both were prepared perfectly, were savory and very affordable. The accompanying bread however was lackluster which was a little surprising considering their excellent bakery items. Speaking of which, we also tried their homemade cheese buns at $1.25 each and had the Tres Leches Flan (yes, for breakfast dessert) for $3.50, all of which were tasty. The coffee, Colombian of course, was good however it was quite disappointing not having real cream. In fact it was the small things that were the most disappointing, such as serving margarine instead of butter with the bread and regular milk instead of cream with the coffee. We also did not know whether to be seated or stand in line upon arrival however none of that will prevent us from returning. The service was very friendly but a wee bit slow. The sanitary rating was a 95.5 and the entire restaurant was very clean but a little worn and appeared to be somewhat under construction. It's simpleness added to the experience in a way. We definitely plan to return for lunch and for more bakery items!
Amazing place to eat for some Colombian home style cooking with outstanding pastries. The owner and his staff are great people that greet you with a smile. I visited their other restaurant Hello Chicken and the food is just as good. Food is made to order and that's very awesome. Really enjoy drinking their mango juice and passion fruit drinks.

I bought a round pastry that had guava, cream cheese and caramel inside. The outside was so flakey and dusted in sugar. Next time I have visitors, I'm getting these for breakfast danishes. I bought the alfajores. They are like 2 soft sugar cookies with Carmel between. The Carmel is to die for. It has a slight milky taste and not quite as sweet as the Carmel I'm used to. The macaroons were a tad bit disappointing. They tasted nice but we're a bit cold as if they had been slightly frozen. They gave us a sample of some round bread and again, OMG, this bread was amazing. Seriously, someone knows what they are doing here. Will definitely be back !
Decided to come in here while we were waiting for a nearby restaurant to open. They are a Mexican restaurant slash bakery. Order: flan tres leche, green tea/vanilla/coffee macarons. The macarons were very good. $1.50 each (the size of a 50cent coin). They offered two types of flan: tres leche and de coco. I'm not a fan of coconut so I decided to try the three-milk one. It didn't have a milky flavor at all. It was more cheesy than milky or eggy. I was a little disappointed it was how I expected it to taste. Such a delight! Driven by several times but stopped in for breakfast this morning. Great food, great service, amazing desserts and coffee. I know nothing about Columbian food so tried to order something with variety. The pork sausage was great, beans were so flavorful, roasted plantains that tasted like candy, perfect fried egg... Our service was very patient with my lack of Spanish and offered great suggestions. They sell whole bean coffee as well. read more

So my after lots of Love Week fun with my church, my incredible bestie {who's Colombian} took me to one of her favorite Colombian restaurants. I love when she and I can drive around the city, serve all day and be foodies! When I walked in the restaurant they have lots of decorations celebrating the Colombian team during the soccer World Cup. This truly warmed my heart to see the restaurant supporting their country. Then we sat down and the server gave us two menus. One with the lunch specials and a regular one. I liked that she immediacy spoke Spanish to me. Because although my Spanish is VERY minimal I'm still working VERY hard to learn Spanish. It's going to come one day lol. My best friend suggested I pick something from the $6.95 lunch menu. So I followed the pro and ordered myself the chicken plate with fries, rice, beets salad and vegetable soup! Yes you get ALL OF THAT FOR $6.95 lol. Then she ordered the friend fish with fried plantains, beets salad and fish soup. The Friday selection on the lunch specials menu offers three different styles of Colombian lunches. But listen... my vegetable soup... BANGING! I will go back and order that in a pot style if I can lol. It was sooooo good! It made up for how small my chicken breast was. I wasn't too happy about that. My lunch plate had a half piece of chicken breast that was super thin. Then looking at my besties plate and she had two pieces of nicely cut fish. Thankfully she's amazing and shared her fish with me lol. Oh and she ordered us some empanadas which were very yummy and I love the green sauce they gave us too! Other than my small chicken breast I truly enjoyed my first experience eating at Las America's and my first Colombian restaurant! read more

I really enjoyed the food here. Beyond the food, the staff are so kind. It's a family run business, where everyone is happy to be there and the food is all made in house. I had the seafood (Pacifica?) Rice, and the tres leches flan, both were delicious. I usually don't order flan, because I find it so eggy. But this was ordered accidentally when I thought I was ordering tres leche. Boy, am I glad they brought this out... It's was the perfect dessert. The empanadas here are delicious,... To the point that I'm not really sure what I have been eating (when I have ordered empanadas previously) before coming here. They also have this cheese bread (made in house, which is really good.) My husband got the steak, which looks good, but I think my dish was much more authentic. The guanabana drink is a nice treat as well. I will be back read more

Pretty good Colombia food. Our favorites were their empanadas and the cheesy bread. Fresh and super authentic.y. My main entree was the bandeja pais because I wanted to try a little of everything. I loved the rice and beans. The carne asada was also good but I didn't care for the chorizo or the fried pork. Also had the fresh passion fruit juice and loved it. It's not overly sweet and separated naturally so you know it's the trap stuff! Loved that! If I went back I think I would stick to the empanadas and cheesy bread. read more

I really enjoyed the food here, in the beginning we didn't think much of his place, like someone already mentioned in a previous review, don't judge the book by the cover. The place is clean and simple, service is good and quick. The food was really good and tasty, I suggest you try their coconut flan is out of this world delicious!! Yeah we will be back!! Oh the down side of this place, they don't have a liquor license. read more

This is a great bakery. It had a restaurant too but we didn't look at that. The maracuya tres leches was the best tres leches EVER!! It had the maracuya drizzle on top that was just a little tart and perfect!!! Loved it. Also tried the guava pastry but the jam in it didn't really taste like guava. The soursop mousse was interesting, I thought it tasted like custard apple! read more

The place to come to in South Charlotte for authentic Colombian cuisine. Very reasonably priced, great selection of menu items, friendly service and the menu is bilingual so don't worry - you don't have to speak Spanish to enjoy a great Colombian meal. I have had several different dishes from the menu and all have been exceptional. Ask about the arepa montañera. Very good. read more
