This is the best Venezuelan restaurant in Charlotte and it's not up for debate. It might be a little pricey. It's a weekend luxury more than the work lunch place. The food is amazing, cachapas are great. Pabellón empanadas for the win. Papelón con limon. Tequeños. Plato navideño en Navidad. Buenos cocteles. Musiquita que te hace sentir en casa. De lo mejor.

How wonderful to find a fried food joint with a dedicated gluten-free fryer! I have celiac disease, so that a pretty big deal to me! Much respect to the folks at Los Chamos Clt for making the effort here. The food was absolutely delicious. Service was friendly, even though I pity anybody working on a slow Saturday. The place was clean and well-kept. They even have hats and T-shirts! Overall was super happy with the menu for gluten-free options and staff being so knowledgeable with food allergies. Sorry I got the Cachapa Trio especial, which was so good I didn't check and make sure the photo saved! Definitely would recommend giving as much of the menu a sample as your stomach can manage haha...we will be back for sure!

Tried an arepa mixta this time with pernil and palmita cheese. Arepas look small, but these are packed with meat and are quite filling. Delicious!

This small hidden Venezuelan restaurant is a true gem in Charlotte. My daughter and I ate there Friday night and what a wonderful experience we had. She had eaten there before, but it was my first time. The staff were attentive, friendly and charming. I had the Venezuelan burger, which was excellent! My daughter had the Empatacos (which are advertised as an appetizer) but she was so stuffed she couldn't even finish all three that came with the order. Needless to say we both had leftovers and I ate the second half of my burger and fries the following night. I highly recommend this restaurant. For larger orders they cater!

My boyfriend and i had lunch here the other week and it was amazing! Fresh authentic food! Our waitress was helpful and was doing everything including bartending. Our drinks were well crafted and strong like i like em! The food came out pretty quickly and was authentic and large portion size. I will absolutely be back

Strawberry margarita -- minus a few sips.

I walked in and was warmly welcomed and quickly seated. Perused the menu and our server let us know about the margarita special for $6 and that includes the classic, passion fruit, strawberry flavors. We enjoyed an appetizer of chicken empatacos and they were hot, crunchy and delicious. I had the parabellon traditional meal that was a yummy traditional meal. Towards the end of our meal a large party arrived and our server double checked if we needed anything before putting in the large parties order - which was very kind.

We stumbled upon Los Chambos while waiting for an oil change at the Ford dealer, and I'm so glad we did! This hidden gem did not disappoint. When trying new places, we like to go big, so we ordered a variety of dishes--each one had its own unique flavor and was well-executed. My favorite was the empatacos, but we also enjoyed the cachapa trio and the patacón. For drinks, we had a mojito, and a vodka tonic with a hint of lime that we absolutely loved. The service was prompt and attentive, though we went early, so it wasn't too busy. It looks like they have live performances later in the evening, which we'd love to check out next time. Definitely a spot worth visiting!

Came for lunch on a weekday, because of Yelp reviews and the desire to find more Hispanic restaurants in the area. Food was decent and presentation was great. I asked for hot sauce and they brought out their own homemade which tasted like Frank's. They brought out a spicier one that was store bought. Servers were friendly. Cost was somewhat high. I'd maybe come again.

Incredible and authentic food! One of the best meals I've had in Charlotte with a knowledgeable and helpful staff that helped us to order although we had never experienced Venezuelan food before. Won't be the last time. Loved the vibes of the restaurant, too and really added to the experience.

Food was way too salty that it turns bitter. The big cheese-sticks was good but the entrees are salty and not spiced well. Presentation was good but the flavor was not so good.

This place is a hidden gem! The food is incredible. I had the cachapa with steak. The margarita was fresh and tasty. I will definitely be back!

Cannot wait to come back! There's plenty of parking out front and the sign/entrance is clear and easy to find. We were greeted promptly and sat at a high top. When we arrived there were only about 3 tables occupied, but by the time we left nearly all of them were. We both ordered a beer to start, then we ordered the tequenos tradicionales as our appetizer. They were excellent! I ordered an arepa pernil based on a recommendation from the server. My husband ordered the patacon since it was what they're most well known for and they were incredible! I would definitely order both items again. Everyone was so friendly and while the space isn't huge, it is wide open where you don't feel like you're on top of anyone around you.

Solid Venezuelan restaurant! Lots of authentic street food items. The food was quite good, fresh, not overly heavy, but still filling. I am a bit disappointed with the portions of the arepa but it was well made regardless. Service was friendly and attentive. There were a couple small insects and one landed in a dipping sauce. Staff were quick to replace it.

On my first visit, I tried the Venezuelan hot dog without the quail eggs. The bun was nicely toasted, and the hot dog was packed not only with ingredients but also with great flavor. It was definitely a great hot dog, and I highly recommend trying it. The quail eggs weren't something I personally wanted on mine, but others may enjoy that option. I also tried the mini arepas, which came with beans, chicken salad, and pork. I was actually surprised that the bean arepa ended up being my favorite. It was packed with so much flavor. The chicken salad was okay, but I felt like it could have used a little more seasoning. The pork was really good and seasoned to perfection. I also had their cachapas, which came with fried cheese, steak, and a sweet corn pancake. The steak could have used a little more seasoning, but the sweet corn pancake was amazing. I would highly recommend the food, and their drinks are very good as well. It is a small restaurant, so there is not a ton of space, but it has a great vibe inside. Now, as far as the service, my first visit was amazing. The second time, however, the service was not good. We sat on the patio, and the waitress was very short with us and came across as rude. Overall, I would still recommend checking this place out for the food and drinks, but I do hope the service becomes more consistent because the food is definitely worth trying.

This location paled in comparison to that at the much larger and nicer Ballantyne location. Of course that was like 6 years ago? First of all, aesthetically, this place just felt a bit off. The walk-up to the counter was very narrow...and the layout felt a bit too narrow and tight. Also, the menu selection seemed much smaller than I remembered it. At the Ballantyne location, I also remember that they had this Sangria drink...but not here. They did have 2 juice flavors...but nothing too exciting. In any case, I had the same item that I enjoyed before...the Peruvian Fried Rice. Again, it looked and tasted a bit weaker than I had remembered it. I did enjoy the 2 sauces that greatly helped the bland flavor of the rice. Also tried their Mini Churros...which were quite good. My husband enjoyed the Rotisserie chicken, and his 2 sides...but he felt the same as me, in that the layout felt tight and awkward. Overall, we thought the foods were good enough to return. We just didn't find the place very comfy.

Located where the former Moes was in the Pineville Matthews shopping center with Bonefish and Panera. The place looked pretty clean although after ordering my food I noticed the sanitation grade was a 91...yikes. Anyways I went ahead and ate there. So let me start by saying the menu is large, so many different items to chose from and not only Peruvian food. I saw some Colombian and Venezuelan items. With that being said I was very shocked at the lack of standard side items. Literally rice and white rice at that, pinto beans and like one other things. All other sides are considered premium sides and those premium sides would be basic sides at like hello chicken or viva chicken. I got the 1/4 chicken, white meat with reg side of white rice and premium side of plantains. For the dipping sauce I was limited to the yellow mild sauce or the spicy hot sauce. They were all out of the green mild sauce. Just for context I arrived at 11:40, they open at 11. Not sure how they ran out so fast but I would have loved to try it because the yellow sauce was just ok and the red was cold and just spicy no real flavor. Thankfully the chicken was flavorful and juicy, the white rice was white rice and the plantains were cooked beautifully. Also the cashier was great and provided excellent service. All in all, I would visit again but no rush to go back again. Viva Chicken still takes the lead for now for me. I would love them to mature their side menu, increase their sanitation grade and have the green sauce available.
