Authentic !!!! Yessssss. This is where you can find real El Salvadoran food. I got the fried fish ($14) and it was very meaty and crispy. The sauce was a spicy chipotle that came with it. On the plate was a salad that had a light thousand island-like dressing. The beans were very unique. They were seemingly pureed with rice on the side. It was so much food, I could only finish one side of the fish. You MUST get the papusas ($2 each). Seriously, it's the reason to come here. They have pork and cheese, bean and cheese, and loroco (flower) and cheese. They are served with a vinegar slaw and light tomato-like watery sauce. Yummy !!! A gal with me got the bistec chipotle ($13). It had red, yellow, orange, and green peppers along with onions and I think carrots. It also came with a salad, rice and beans and she could not finish. Another gal got beef tacos. These looked like quality meat. The meat was larger pieces and not fatty. They looked excellent. Another gal got a bistec quesadilla and pastellitos de pollo. They reminded me of chicken pot pie empanadas. They had carrots and potato inside with a soup-like mixture. Finally SAVE ROOM FOR FLAN ! YESSS! ($3.50) They make it here themselves and you can tell the quality ! The owner took our order and other waitresses delivered the food. I got a horchata and it was good. The decor inside is quite run down, basic brown, but who cares if the food is this good ?! I'll take great food over atmosphere any day ! Check this place out !

    HUGE pupusas to go!!

This place has some delicious but I mean delicious pupusas! Tried a a handful of places nearby but these are my favorite. This is why: 1. They're cheap at just $1.50 each 2. They're huge (compared to other local places) 3. Curtido aka slaw that comes with pupusas is always fresh and plentiful 4. The pupusas are so meaty and full of cheese At other local places I need at least 4 to fill me up, this place fills me up with just 2! The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is the place is kinda empty and lacking some ambience. So although I love their pupusas I will most likely take them to go. If you're looking for authentic I encourage you to try this place. If you're looking for a place to hang out, then maybe not here.

DELICIOUS! Pollo Relleno was amazing. Recommend the pork stuffed pupusas for an appetizer. Highly recommend this place!

This is an all around great spot. It is 3 businesses incorporated into one. It's a Salvadorean…read moreRestaurant, Bakery and small shopping area full of Salvadorean products. The restaurant has both takeout and dine in options. There is plenty of seating both in the front and rear of the restaurant. They have all your typical Salvadorean staples like the famous Pupusas as well as yuca con chicharrón. The typical breakfast dishes are also great. You can't go wrong with any of their dishes. However I suggest you dine in and have some fresh made pupusas revueltas. They are basically tortillas stuffed with Mozzarella cheese and grounded pork. You can also get them with just cheese or just pork. For a cold drink try the Horchata, it's made from a grounded down seed. For a hot drink try the Atol de Elote, made from corn.....deliciously smooth and velvety. The bakery has typical cookies and sweet breads, they are all on display for you to pick and choose. The store has candies, chips, medicine, arts and crafts & shirts all imported from El Salvador. If your missing home this place will take you back. If you want the Salvadorean experience than you have come to the right place! The staff is friendly and efficient, place is casual and laid back. Food is cooked fresh so you may wait a little, be patient. If in Charlotte stop by and get a little taste of my country you most definitely will not be disappointed!
