He flat out said that there wasn't much out there as far my car went -- when a quick search would find a rather large community surrounding this car. He couldn't answer a single question without treating me like I knew nothing. Brought my classic muscle car to him to make an adjustment on the axle turn because it was rubbing a little on the chassis. He said he doesn't work on older cars and wouldn't even look at it. Extremely unhelpful over the phone. Called to ask a few questions and to see about availability and Larry was rude and disrespectful. I was told that they "don't mess with direct fit welding" when I was told otherwise by a shop that recommended them. (What else does an exhaust shop do?). New location is at 4870 Merriam Dr., Overland Park. Larry repaired/replaced a rusted out exhaust pipe for me. I also had him do a custom dual exhaust on my new VW. His prices are literally 1/3 that of other mid sized shops I got quotes from. Larry knows his $hit, which I have learned, but he isn't your polished JoCo shop. Don't go in expecting ANY glamour to be received with the service or you will be sorely disappointed. If you come in with standard jobs such as OEM replacements or new exhaust piping needed due to rust, he is automatic. If you want something custom, such as I did with my dual exhaust, come prepared with photos of what you want and expect to collaborate on the project. BE SPECIFIC. If you convey what you want, he'll get it done for you. I do highly recommend Larry. He keeps his appointments and is generally very quick and appointments aren't hard to schedule. read more

Larry has been doing exhaust since rock tablets and stone chisels. He knows what he is doing. Quick, in and out, very reasonable on pricing. Our family has had him work on four cars over the years : each time was in and out with no drama. Just keep this in mind though ... this is a no-frills shop. Overhead is low, so your pricing is low. If you want a pretty waiting room with coffee, doughnuts and cable TV while you wait ... go somewhere else. But, remember, you will pay for those amenities in your end cost. It's about as no-frills as it gets (no air conditioning in the "lobby," which is just a room next to the shop outfitted with a big fan, an old couch, and a TV). They only take cash or check. Had a rattle that I could hear and feel under my feet. My son thought the heat shield was damaged and could possibly be a catalytic converter problem Called Larry about 8:30 a.m. and he got me scheduled for 11 the same day. Took it in, he removed a clamp and the damaged heat shield and totally took care of my problem. This is a small shop and decor is not high on their list but if you want someone honest - go to Larry. I've been here twice, so far, for my old Civic. Once to fix and replace a broken exhaust pipe, just upstream from the muffler last summer, and today, I had to get most of the rest replaced as it busted off just downstream of the resonator. They fixed that in less than an hour, and I was on my way. It was more expensive than I'd hoped, but it -did- need more than just a patch, this time, so the $250 I paid I thought was fair. It's a very basic looking place, but who needs the unnecessary frou-frou that just drives up costs that get passed onto you? I definitely recommend Larry's if you need exhaust work. read more

I called them to get a quote on getting converters put on. The old guy that answered the phone was very rude and didnt let me speak what i wanted to say. he kept telling me, no thats not how my exhaust is setup. and told me there is no room for my converters since its custom. I end up going to another shop with no issues. read more

Larry does a great job with mufflers. I got a quote of about $300 from Quest Auto Service. Larry charged me $90. It took only about 40 min for the job.
