We picked up four subs for the family. I got the BiG one with chips and a drink. It's definitely better than Subway. I'd say slightly below Jersey Mikes since they don't slice the meat as they make the sandwiches, all pre cut. I believe they use the same bread as Jimmy John's. Employees are friendly and it has a great NY style atmosphere. Overall a good sub at a good price. read more

(3.5 stars) Super enjoyed my corned beef sub today. Granted, I've been starved for a sub since I live in a city that has no good sub places at all. So when I saw Larry's, I had to stop in. Bread is soft, toppings are fresh. There coulda been more corned beef on the sub, but I really enjoyed every bite. Very polite staff and they're quick! I don't know who on Doordash was rating this place as 4+ stars. Shoulda checked Yelp first, I guess. Larry's Giant Subs is a misnomer. I got the 8 inch sub and it was 5 inches max. Like, it was tiny. I paid extra to add giardiniera; of course, I didn't get it. My sandwich was supposed to come with banana peppers; of course, those were missing, too. I asked for oil and vinegar--nothing. I had a dry, small sandwich that I paid a small fortune to deliver. My Subway sandwich the other day was superior, and y'all know how bad Subway is. read more

Not impressed with my food. Got a philly cheesesteak and a Reuben. Both were bland, lacking flavor. Couldn't pin point what it needed but it needed something. Decent sized portion, ~$10 per sandwich. Service was good, place was clean, and they have endless options. read more

Eeehh, this sandwich reminds me of one of those wrapped grocery store subs. I guess it's got more meat than I expected after reading other reviews, but it's very plain. It's just turkey, cheese, lettuce, and tomato on bread, with a little bit of mayo. The bread is....it's okay. The lettuce doesn't seem super fresh. I mean, I wouldn't say it was bad, but I can just go to Jersey Mike's or Firehouse to get a better sub than this. Not to mention, you've got joints like Sun Deli, Angie's Subs, Sub Cultured.....this place is just totally outclassed. read more

Staff completely overwhelmed today and everyone seemed confused. We ordered two chef salads, a water and a tea. Our bill was over $30 and when the salads came out they were in tiny little bowls. Disappointing compared to what we usually receive at the Larry's we normally visit. read more

Am I the only one who is surprised by how tiny Larry's Giants subs are? A friend recommended this place so several of us got subs and one person ordered a grilled chicken salad ($8.89). Most of the group got 12 inch subs ($8.89) but I just wanted an 8 inch one (6.19). When I unwrapped my Philly cheesesteak sub, I saw a very thin sub and I was really confused. I actually started laughing as the name of the place just didn't fit the product. I had assumed that because of the name, the subs would be thick, piled high with ingredients, and "giant". That clearly wasn't the case. Not only was it a small sandwich but it also just wasn't good. While the bread was soft and chewy, the quality of the meat was poor. The people there were very nice but I highly doubt that I'll be back. I have had much better Philly cheesesteak subs in Jax and the value has been much better as well. read more

This comment is back to the managers comment. Apparently they think I wanted free food two weeks later . The whole problem here was that the manager never called me back after I left a message! So I than called back after two weeks at a second attempt and "they" hung up on me and said call back were too busy. Also their forgetting I drive 30 minutes one way to come to their sub shop. Horrible !!!!!! Gave us old bread! My bf took one bite and it was stale , we tried to take the sandwich back mind you was 22$ w double meat Brought the sandwich back w the one bite missing. Not only would they not give us a new sandwich but refused to refund the money. Horrible attitude. I tried to write an email about this bs and no one ever reached back out to me. They're excuse was that it was a Togo order that sat too long .... So bread goes stale apparently after being wrapped up and put in a Togo bag. Who knew read more

Transplant from Jersey looking for a good Italian sub. Boring unattractive flavorless sub. The only thing giant about Larry's is in the name. The 8 inch needs viagra to reach 8. Its 6 at best, small bread and flat. Ate half, the rest went in the bucket. read more

Couldn't ask for a better sub. My bomber sub made with grilled chicken, onions, mushrooms, and veggies was delicious. My husband enjoyed his Cuban sub as well. Most importantly, the employee, Shelby, who served us was clean and very friendly, even though she was running the place on her own while we were there. The place was clean too. Cleanliness matters to me as much as taste, so I rate this place high for a sub shop. read more

I always like to eat at Larry's. We are lucky to have them all around Jacksonville. Some are better than others as they are franchised. This one at Jax Beach has good food and prepares it correctly every time I've been here. They use fresh meat and other ingredients. A pickle spear comes with the sandwiches, but at this location you don't get it unless you ask and then you better check before you leave if it is to-go or you may not get it. I've been shorted every time but one. I really enjoy the Cuban sandwich as they do it right and press it like they should. The regular size is more than enough or get the large and it can be shared or saved for later. Many choices and this location offers specials for each day of the week and some other deals like kids eat free on certain days. I have read/heard they they do a frequent purchaser deal where you earn free sandwiches, but I've never seen anything about it and have never had it mentioned so not sure. I really like Larry's as they are one of the better Sandwich shops for hot or cold sandwiches. I will be back and I recommend. Enjoy!!! read more

Larry's Giant Subs is a staple in Jacksonville. I first discovered the chain in Gainesville while attending UF. I wasn't very impressed - the place was dirty, crowded, and uninspiring. Moving to Jax and working at the beach lead me back to the world of needing a quick place for lunch. Enter: Larry's Giant Subs visit 2.0 . The Jax Beach location is a hidden gem. Tucked in a dilapidated shopping plaza next to an iffy Burger King and a filthy 8 til Late, LGS stands out for yummy sandwiches, a huge selection, friendly service and community appeal. I always order the same thing: an 8 inch Turkey on wheat. I really like that they have this 8 inch option over Subway's 6 inch option. I always wish for just two more bites of a Subway 6 inch, and a foot long is too much for me. The Larry's 8 inch-er is just right. (She blushes.) The subs are made fresh and there are many to chose from. You can call ahead to avoid a rush. This LGS is near my work and lately, I've been going once a week. Even without calling ahead, I can get in and out in the same amount of time it would take a go through a drive-through. The business graciously gives free drinks to local teachers and that's what keeps me coming back! A free iced tea with my yummy turkey sub is sometimes what I need to deal with the kiddos back at school. My only complaint is their stamping system. After a certain number of stamps, I can turn them in for a free sub. They stamp your receipt. This means I end up with a bunch of receipts in my purse that I usually throw away. I've resorted to carrying a zip loc baggie in my purse just for LGS receipts, but I still think there is an easier way for Larry's to offer free subs to their repeat customers. Keep up the good work, Larry's in Jax Beach! read more

This is kinda late but what the hey-ho! Anyway the gam and I went to Larry's in December of 09 and this place made a huge impression I had a tuna and provolone with lettuce, tomato, onion, oregano, oil and vinegar. I remember because this was a fav from back in the day. I have not been able to find many places that can do a sub right. OMG! Everything was fresh and tasted soooo good. Larry's needs to be all over this country! The crazy thing is that it's a franchise but it didn't taste like it came from one...you know not fresh, meat under wax paper which causes it to dry out and lose flavor in my opinion. If you are ever at Jacksonville beach in Florida. You gotta goto Larry's. Oh yeah take a pic with the gorilla! read more

Larrys Subs has the best bread out of any chain I visit and in my opinion, great bread is the single most important ingredient in a Sub Sandwich. Larrys makes a gourmet cuban style bread which is my favorite. Staff at the Jacksonville beach Larry's is very friendly. read more

It's a pretty average Larry's. EXCEPT. 1) they make forgetting your pickle a habit and 2) their soda levels are ALWAYS off. I'm here often (at least once a month) and without fail, on days when I can't count on anything, I can count on their levels being off. Strangely comforting to know. But also something I forget every time. And then I'm beautifully reminded with soda that's 90% syrup. read more

I've lived at the beach for 2 years and always forgot about this Larry's location. I'm happy I stopped in tonight. Got a chicken sub and a soup. Both were fresh and the bread was tasty. BONUS + they are open till midnight on Sunday's! I will keep coming. Gave 5 because what more can you ask from a sandwich shop. read more

She described "The Peruvian" as (her words) "meat heavy". I've heard amazing things in the past about the Peruvian sauce, so that is what I landed on and chose to have it on their onion roll. Hubby went with the "Angie's Philly". I want to preface this with my husband and I had complete opposite opinions and you're going to hear about both of them. For me: When I heard the words "meat heavy" I did expect a larger than normal amount of meat, and maybe thats on me, or a lost in translation example, because in my mind this is not "meat heavy". HOWEVER, before you start angry typing, I REALLY enjoyed my sandwich. It was absolutely delicious and at one point (which I will touch on further down) I looked at my husband and said "Yeah... this is so much better than Larry's". He said it wasn't bad enough not to complain or send back but not good enough to write home about. So that's the take for today's visit. We would both (especially me) try them out again in the future, and I personally can see why they're so loved.

It has a large menu with many sandwiches, meats, sausages, among other great stuff to choose from. Our first moments here began by just navigating around the restaurant to see what it was all about. There are large number of wine and beer selections. Though I abstain from alcoholic beverages, I would guess that most are of the European variety - they have beer on the tap setup across from the dessert counter. After the quick self-tour and a conversation with the manager, we lodged in our seats and got ready to order. I actually was hoping the cafe offered speciality coffee like a latte, but that was quickly dashed when the server said they only served regular or decaf coffee. Initially I was disappointed but ordered one anyway. When it arrived and I dressed it up a little with some Splenda and Coffee Mate, I found it to be one the best regular cups of coffee I've had in a long time. We took a while to order because it is a sizable menu. However, I was sold immediately on the Rueben sandwich selections and just need to pick one. I settled on the classic Rueben, which was a mix of corned beef, pastrami, sauerkraut, cheese, a superb Thousand Island-type dressing on pumpernickel bread - it was delicious from start to finish! I will note that you can choose other breads and cheeses with the Ruebens. Some options may come at added cost. I'm glad it was large enough to take some home with me. My dearest chose the turkey Parisian. This was a splendid choice with a nice mix of excellent deli turkey, Brie, raspberry sauce, cucumber, and lettuce on a large croissant. Both sandwiches were more than worth the price of admission! Our server displayed excellent courtesy and care throughout our eating experience. I greatly appreciate the manager taking time to chat with me as well. I really felt good at European Street Cafe! With the fantastic artistry on the walls, the large setting of wooden tables and chairs well-spaced and well-organized on both sides of the interior has the look of a classic cafe that has been around for a good number of years. The restaurant is clean, welcoming, and has a nice outdoor patio area not far from the entrance. I think I found a great place to visit when I crave a Rueben sandwich! This one today felt like a Time Machine moment for me as my mom made them like this when I was a kiddo! Thanks for making this visit special today European Street Cafe! Recommend: VERY HIGH

The cosmic fries were below average and that could stem from the way the fries are made (shoestring style) but even then the seasoning on it was nothing special. The cosmic fries came with a cosmic sauce that was great and was a perfect addition to the burger. The Venus wings were solic with pretty good texture but ridiculously overpriced with a price tag of 13$ for 5 wings which is a scam, if you charging 15$ for wings they gotta be the best wings ever (they weren't). The Buffalo sauce that comes with the wings was definitely hot and the bba and ranch were decent. All in all, it's a solid spot that ! could see myself coming back to for their Mercury burger.

That was a good choice for me. The roasted pork was really good. Some places use white meat instead of the dark meat which I personally enjoy more. Very delicious and I really want to try their other coffee items.
