We lucked out having La Rosa across the way from our hotel. I had read that they had a decent gluten free pizza crust so we headed that way to try it for dinner. We were seated immediately and had a gander at the menu. The pizza toppings were clearly labeled with the "GF" designation so it made it easy to pick which toppings we wanted. I also wanted to try their antipasto salad. Our server Kasidy (I hope I spelled that right!) was very pleasant and super patient. I gave my usual spiel of "I'm super annoying and I have to ask every single time but I have celiac, etc." She said that she is well versed in the celiac lifestyle and answered all of my questions and got me through the ordering process without too much fuss (she said it wasn't but I think she was being nice lol). The antipasto salad was a banger and I snarfed that down without hesitation. The thing that gave me the most pause was the GF pizza. Y'all, I have never in my life seen such a fluffy and squishy GF pizza crust. It was so authentico that I had to ask her if this was really the GF pizza crust, and she said it was. HOW ARE THEY ABLE TO DO THIS. HOW. Needless to say, it was AMAZEBALLS and I really, really wish they had a La Rosa out here just for the crust. I actually had to tell the bartender how to make Malibu and cranberry cuz she couldn't find the recipe book... Both my husband's drink and mine were empty and had been, so we had to flag down someone for refills! The bar was half full and NO one behind the bar. After the second time we had to request refills, we left!! Every month or so, we keep trying this place cuz the food is good, but ALWAYS disappointed!!!!! Food has been cold many times, the staffing is always short with rude staff which is understandable when they are over worked.

Getting seated, having your order taken, and getting your food were not an issue. But, our waitress did not come back to see if we needed refills or anything else. My son ordered the chicken bacon ranch calzone. It was excellent. Well worth the money. I ordered a grilled chicken salad. It definitely was not worth $9. If I'm paying that much for a salad, I expect more than a small bowl mainly filled with iceberg lettuce. read more

They have always had good food and service, they're the leader in the area for pizzeria style food, An they're the only place in town you can order food and a drink until 10 o'clock. The menus are comprehensive with choices for everyone tastes and moods. We have eaten many times here, An the food is fresh and great quality. My family and I have eaten here twice. Both times their pizza has been great. Gotta say They are one of the better pizza places in the area. We have also had their calzones & they were good as well. Definitely a pizza place I would recommend. Decent priced, family orientated and the staff is great! But the best thing was Hanna she handled several tables with gracefulness and speed She is truly a great asset to this LaRosas. Very strange place. Sat down, ordered food, salads arrived, no utensils. A couple minutes later, server brought two forks. No napkins. A couple minutes later, the napkins arrived. The wings came 20 minutes later, after salads were nearly digested in our stomachs. Then, we waited for a bill. We asked two other servers, because ours was MIA. A manager eventually brought our bill. Maybe sitting in the bar instead of dining room would be better. read more

This is more of a 3.5, but I'm going with 4 because the waitress didn't say anything when she saw that I'd snuck in a Coke. (I don't drink fountain pop.) My pepperoni and cheese stromboli was very good, with lots of cheese, and a nice garlic Parmesan sprinkle on top. I also tasted the kitchen chips, and they seemed to have the same sort of dusting and were excellent. Some of the best home made chips I've ever tried. The salads were pretty basic, as were the chicken strips and fries off the kids menu, but they gave my son free goldfish crackers, and then free apples, so that kept him from complaining too much when it took awhile for his food. And that was really the only reason I can't give this place a 5. They only got half the order for our table in, so three of us had to wait an extra ten minutes which meant everyone ended up waiting on us. The restaurant is clean looking and the TVs are big and looked to be high def. Probably the nicest touch was the collection of local jerseys from Jackson's various sports stars. Very cool! read more

The waitresses here are tops. We showed up with more than 30 people, all involved with a family reunion. We had called earlier but it was still chaos. Ages ranged from 80 to 2. Waitresses Becky and Jennifer deserve gold stars. They saw us as a challenge and so worked really hard on our behalf. We all got well fed and completely satisfied. I was seated right away and had 4 servers and a manager walk by over a 10 min period not to be even looked at. I am from the Columbus area and don't go down to Jackson very often, but my most recent time at this La Rosa's was a complete nightmare First, our waitress was WAY off the ball, she gave me the wrong drink (I ordered a Long Island iced tea, got a rum and coke), then she forgot to bring out some of the food, and at times was completely vacant Next, the food quality, what happened? When I first went to the La Rosa's in Jackson, they were pretty good, now it looks as if they cook out of a box or can Their "steak" hoagy seemed like the "steak" you get on the steak & egg breakfast sandwich at McDonald's, their Mac & Cheese was obviously Kraft Mac & Cheese, the only good thing I saw were the Rondos, I regret not getting them Then finally, without even asking, the waitress put all the orders on one check, so then we had to wait as she went back to split up the check Sad to see one of the best places down there (except for maybe Dakota's, which I hear is expensive anyway) has ended up this bad read more

Hubby got a carry-out pepperoni pizza from LaRosa's yesterday. Not great. IF there was pepperoni on the pizza, was it diced? Now, I'm not a fan of pepperoni so I really didn't mind too much, but he paid for pepperoni. THAT I mind. In my experience, dining in at La Rosa's is better. Every LaRosa's I have ever been to seems to be very slow however this visit has to be the worst. It was a solid 15 mins before our order was taken and about 50 mins before we received our food. I never could figure out why some people love their food here. It's not bad, but it's just utterly unremarkable. The pizza is edible enough but it's not particularly special and I can get equally unremarkable pizza for less money elsewhere and can get a much more tastey pizza from Domino's for a similar or even lower price. They do have other food items and I've ordered them based on glowing praise from friends only to find those, too, to be edible but forgettable. For example, supposedly their chicken tenders and fries were amazing, but I found the fries to be just fries and the tenders to be reminiscent of something I could heat from a freezer. read more
