I am so amazed at how wonderful this place is! Gilbert is THE BEST and I will never take my business to anyone but him. Talk about the patience of a saint. When my computer goes on the fritz I tend to fall apart and become a crazy person. His skill at diagnosing what I'm trying to describe is spot on. (Men and women seem to have issues understanding when one of them is stressed out) Not only did he actually listen, he understood what and how I thought I wanted things done! He was thorough and prompt and spent the extra time making sure I understood how and what was done. All this at a reasonable price. He also reviewed the possible future repairs with me since this is an older computer. If you have ANY computer issues, please, please, please.....GO SEE GILBERT at the Santee Laptops Plus. Before I started coming to Laptops Plus I had used a company for my employer's computer that said they were the best. Our 2009 iMac went down with a bad hard drive we tool it to Jonathan and he said not to put money into it because it was shot. He said the info and pictures should be able to be retrieved so I picked it up and went to Apple and purchased a new iMac, Apple tried to move the data but said the drive was to bad. I called Jonathan from the mall told him the story and he said bring it back to him with a new external hard drive. We drop it off explaining that the most important thing was the photos,lots of photos-20,000 of them. It took him a week and a couple of different software programs but he did it. Jonathan worked hard and when I would call he would tell me just be patient that is was going slow. He saved every photo plus all the documents and never charge a penny more then the quote he gave me. Recently, I was in a panic and stressed for a new laptop. I am in online classes and my computer was just dying. I had an assignment due the next day. I called and informed Matthew of my situation. He reassured me that he could help me. I purchased another laptop computer and Matthew stated he could tranfer the data from my old computer to my new computer and I would be good to go. Although receiving my up-and-ready computer could be available the next day, I really needed it the same day. He said he would do his best to get the computer to me the same day. Forty minutes before closing, Matthew called me and stated my computer would be ready for pick-up in 20 minutes. He kept his word. He was kind. friendly, and very professional. Outstanding! I had knocked the "Enter" key off my laptop (don't ask, these things just happen to me) and in my futile attempt to reinstall it myself, I only made matters worse. I stopped by on a Sunday to see if they could help. John was extremely patient and didn't make me feel like an idiot when he pointed out the additional damage I had caused by trying to take matters into my own hands...which are all thumbs! It took nearly an hour and a lot of determination on John's part, but he got it fixed...and at a very fair price. Given my track record with computers, I'll undoubtedly need John's services again. I have to say I was impressed with Laptops Plus in Santee when I took my 4 1/2 year old desktop to have some problems fixed. Not only did they (Nacho was the Tech I spoke with) discover the two issues quickly and report them to me in a timely manner, but there were also honest--that's right, honest--in telling me that economically it would be better for me to buy a new computer than to waste my hard earned money buying a new hard and a new mother board. They didn't try to sell me anything or push me in any way. They were honest, fast and didn't even charge me for the diagnostic. I had the guys at Laptops Plus West repair my laptop fan some time ago and months later it stopped working. My laptop has issues. I wasn't aware of any warranty policy, but I brought in my receipt and these guys repaired it for free since it was still having the same issue. Super honest, quick, and reliable guys. Another mention, I remember the first time I brought my laptop in they were finishing up with a woman who was in tears because she thought she had lost over 10 years worth of photos in a computer crash. I highly recommend this place. If you dont know much about computers or their crazy inner workings these guys will fix it for you. They do much more than that as well. They will help instal software, backup your computer, recovery lost data! The staff was really friendly and patient.
