DO NOT GO HERE. First, they lost my expensive suit and lied about it saying it needed more time. After 2 weeks they finally admitted they lost it. It turns out they gave it to someone else. They were kind enough to return it. I spoke to the owner who promised to make it right with $50 credit. I decided to try them again and turns out no credit was put on my account. I ended up having to pay $49 and now the owner won't return my wife and I's call. Additionally, they ruined my wife's brand new blazer. It has large tears in 4 or more places. This place is disorganized, will ruin your clothes, and has a dishonest owner who does not care about you. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more

CANNOT BE TRUSTED. This was my first and last experience with Lapels. I dropped off a set of 8 shirts to be dry cleaned on a Tuesday morning and was promised that they would be delivered to my house that Friday, before I had to leave for a trip on Saturday. This was an important trip, so I called to confirm on Wednesday and was assured that it would be no problem. When I got home from work on Friday, my shirts had not been delivered so I called to ask. The lady on the phone said she was going to check and would call me back. She never called back before they closed for the night. I gave them a call again the next morning and they explained that they would not be able to deliver my shirts that day and that I would need to wait until the next week. While not ideal, I understand that mistakes happen so I asked them to deliver my shirts the following Friday. Sure enough, I get home from work the next Friday and my shirts were not there. Since the store had already closed for the night, I called the next morning to ask where my shirts were, the man whom I spoke with was extremely rude and hung up on me twice, but told me that he'd find my shirts and make sure that they were delivered that day. Several hours later, I get a call telling me that my shirts had been delivered so I walk outside to check and they are nowhere to be seen. I called the store again to confirm that I had given them the correct address, and I had, which meant that my shirts had been delivered to some unknown wrong address. The woman on the line was very rude but said she was going to call the driver to find out what happened and would call me back in a few minutes. After waiting a half hour for her to return my call, I decide to call the store again considering 8 of my shirts were at large somewhere in the city, but no one picked up my call. I proceed to call several more times over the course of the next hour but no one answered my calls. Eventually, I hear my door ring and find that my shirts had finally been delivered. As I'm writing this review, I just discovered that they gave me back 9 shirts instead of the 8 I dropped off. Maybe giving me a free shirt is their way of saying sorry? This place is great. Super courteous staff. Always greet me with a smile and small talk. And so far my clothes has come out great. None of those scanner stickers that you can't remove. And they have a drop-off box. And they are adding tailoring. Super convenient and I highly recommend them. What's not to love? read more

Horrible! I'd given my trenchcoat to dry clean and when I got it back it was ripped and ruined. Scott, the owner then tells me that it's a manufacturing defect of the company and not their fault (and I've got this coat dry cleaned multiple times before and there have been no issues). He then says, he'll get the coat tested and fixed and ship it to me (as I live in New York and was in Boston for work)....It's been 6 months, and I've called and emailed him multiple times but no response and as you can guess, still haven't gotten my coat back. read more

Don't use these guys. I went to the store in person and signed up for a delivery (they gave me a green bag). I submitted a request for a pick-up online, dropped off my bag with my doorman and received a confirmation email that all is set to go. Two weeks later, my bag was still not picked up and my shirts stayed wrinkled all that time. I emailed them and sent a message through the customer portal - no one replied. I called and a day later got a call back and they said they would send someone to pick it up. Eventually the order was processed. Next order...the exact same thing happened. I submitted a pick up request and went on with my business. Well, my clothes once again lay in my building for over two weeks. The only difference is that this time I moved on and switched to another laundry place that delivers to my building. read more

While the lady working was very nice an assured me that she would be working late for when the truck arrives, it looks like my same day( I actually dropped it off the the night before) is going to be more of a 3 day turn around. He doesn't communicate with his staffers and therefore things fall through the cracks and when confronted he is beyond rude and defensive. Unbelievable. I rarely review businesses on Yelp, but Boston needs to know how terrible this dry cleaner's service is. We were very interested in a dry cleaning service that 1) delivered completed dry cleaning and 2) opened at 7am in case of emergencies/forgotten delivery. Lapels promises both, but does not actually perform either. In the 10-15 times that we have dropped off our dry cleaning and requested delivery service, not once have they actually delivered to our apartment. Each and every time we drop it off and request delivery; then, 4-5 days later, we get an email saying that it is ready for pickup. We are constantly reassured that "in the system" we are "marked for delivery," but this task is never fulfilled. Today was the last straw. After dropping off a large order last week, we were in need of suits that were expected to be delivered Monday or Tuesday. Out of clothes, we went to Lapels to pick them up at 7am, and they were not open, despite claiming to open at 7am. After waiting 35 minutes and calling countless times, the shop remained unopened and I had to return home empty handed. We should have done this earlier, but after today we will never return to Lapels. Customer beware - this shop is awful and full of false promises. read more

These guys are across the street from a convention hotel- what an opportunity to win business! - They weren't open at 8am (as advertised) and no one called me back to let me know when they opened; - "Same Day Service" doesn't apply on weekends. If I dropped off cleaning on Saturday, morning, the attendant wasn't sure whether or not it would be available Monday. So, in the end, I pay the crazy hotel cleaning rates. read more

I have never been to a more incompetent dry cleaner. I would recommend figuring out how to dry clean your own clothes because that would probably take less time. I had ONE pair of pants to be hemmed. It didn't even need to be adjusted, just rehemmed to the same spot as it was before. I AM STILL WAITING 6 WEEKS LATER. Every time I go in, "Scott" says that it will be there this afternoon... And they never come. I expect he is probably wearing them since it has been 6 weeks. Not only this, but Lapels offers same day dry cleaning if you drop off before 7:30am. When I dropped it off at 7:30 the other day, they asked if it was okay for me to receive them in two days... I would rather wear a homeless mans clothes then deal with these people again. read more

I brought a very expensive (Matouk) pillow case that had a stubborn ink stain into Lapels. The stain had been there for months and another dry cleaner couldn't get it out. In less the 2 days Scott and his team performed a miracle and got the stain completely out! Thank you Lapels! read more

Absolutely terrible customer service. In short, wife left a jacket to be dry cleaned, we were surprised that the jacket was damaged and they claimed that it was just wear and tear and they are not responsible. After very rude and inappropriate phone conversation with my wife, the manager (Scott) took the jacket and "attempted" to fix the buckles that were damaged. Over the course of 4 weeks that we didn't hear back and attempted multiple times to get in touch with them through text and phone calls, we didn't get any replies. A few weeks later, by coincidence saw Scott delivering some clothes to our building and inquired again about the jacket, to which he said, we have ordered the buckles but I have no timeline as to when the jacket will be ready. I asked, maybe 1 week? 2 weeks? He replied "who knows". Finally, completely fed up by his lack of professionalism and customer service, this morning went to the Location and one of the clerks, contacted him, to which he responded the jacket will be ready this afternoon and will be delivered to us. (more than 4 weeks later after attempting to fix their damage). This afternoon, my wife received the following text: "We are not responsible for buckles - we tried to help them to smooth out a rough situation but are unable to fix the belt. The jacket is back at One Greenway as of this evening. I would suggest contacting Club Monaco directly to explain the defect and seek a replacement." I'll start with the positive. The employees and owner are all extremely nice/friendly, and they did not charge me after they missed the pickup times for my suit and shirts. I've been happily going to Sturgis in Southie for 7 years, but the week before my wedding Sturgis was closed for vacation so I tried Lapels. I needed to have two shirts cleaned, and my wedding suit pressed. My fiance went to pick them up at the designated time, and they could not find them. They called her back and said they located them, and they'd be ready for pickup the following morning. I went by the following evening at 5pm, and they said they hadn't arrived, but would be there by 6:30pm. I went back at 6:30pm, and the owner/manager had my suit and one shirt, but did not have the other shirt that I needed for the wedding. He said it would be ready the following morning at 7:00am. I had my wedding rehearsal that day and had very little time flexibility, so I asked if they could call me as soon as the shirt arrived, and I would come pick it up (rather than drop by to check). They took down my number, and said they would call, but never did. I didn't have time to deal with it given the rehearsal schedule, so I just used a different shirt. When it came time for me to put on the pressed suit, I noticed that it was not folded along the crease, so there was a small additional crease next to the main crease. The suit was brand new, and I think it looked better before being pressed due to the fold crease. I hope this experience was a one off, but I'll be going back to Sturgis. read more
