Food is always wonderful and service is very good!! Very small place and very small menu but very authentic Thai food

This is a little family owned Thai restaurant. Completely unassuming place in uptown that will blow your mind with the flavor in the dishes. My husband and I can't control ourselves when we go there, so we generally order 4 dishes between the two of us. Our favorites are the pad kee mow, thai fried rice, green curry, and Pad thai. Their food is phenomenal and at a great price so it's easy to order more. We haven't had anything on the menu we didn't like, including the pho!! You will get a ton of food, so be prepare for leftovers! Also, their spice scale is legit. We can only do a 2 out of 5 star. We ordered 3 star one time and sweated through the whole meal - we still had no problem finishing it :) Be warned! 5 star is no joke!! read more

It's often pretty hard to find good Thai/Laotian food in smaller towns, so I'm glad to know Lao Kitchen is here! The restaurant is incredibly clean and the service is excellent. I had the pork pad Thai (medium spice) with a Thai tea on the side. The pad Thai was excellent! The noodles had a good bite, the sauce was sweet and tangy, and the spice was perfect. The Thai tea was run of the mill, which is to say it was delicious as well! I'll definitely be back to try their pho and larb! read more

Simple, charming, delicious, and affordable. This place is easily missed from the road but once you know about this little gem it sticks out like a beacon. The food is wonderful and prepared by a very cute and hospitable wife/husband combination who make you feel like a part of their family without any pretension. Daily specials make the affordable even cheaper and at slow moments (go early) the duo will often have guests sample possible new additions to their menu at no extra charge. Recommended. I've ordered from here twice in a month and I can't get enough. The pho broth is very flavorful. The beef and veggie with tofu were equally delicious. The Laab was so tasty and had strong flavors, the spicier the better with this dish. The stir fry was just full of great vegetables and flavors. Everything I've had was so satisfying. read more

I've gone here for years. Tried a lot of the menu and everything is great. Known for their Pho but the stir dry is awesome, so is the fried rice. Really can't go wrong with any of it. The fresh spring rolls with peanut sauce are a filling, feel-good-in-your-tummy meal that I purchase multiple times a month with a Thai tea. Mm. Mmm mmm mm. The veggies in the spring rolls are crisp, I have never gotten sick while eating there (yay for properly handled seafood) and the peanut sauce is my favorite out of all I have tried around here. Staff is ALWAYS kind and helpful. Very sweet. My favorite hidden gem! This place has the absolute best yellow chicken curry with sticky rice as well as the best pho in Tri cities! Definitely a must try. They've got a great location in the uptown so there's a lot to do around the restaurant, it's easy to eat and then walk around and look at the shops. read more

First off let me say that the pho is VERY good and the restaurant seems clean. But it all goes downhill from there. We got there at 6:15pm (dinner time right?) the waitress was short with us made us feel extremely rushed (not welcoming). The restaurant is completely silent no music and a very few customers so we whispered the whole time, so did the other table that was in there... Felt like we were eating at the library. I strongly suggest playing low music.. It would help with the awkward environment. I liked the pho so I really want to be back.. Maybe for lunch? read more

Have ordered takeout for pickup a couple of times over the past year. Pho is the best I've had anywhere. (tofu vegetable and chicken veg). Broth is double sealed so it stays hot doesn't leak in transit; noodles are packed separate and bean sprouts, lime, basil and Jalapeño slices are super fresh and also separate, so you assemble at home. Also all sauces on the side (chili oil, hoisin, sriracha). Need big bowls at home to assemble it all. So fresh, delicious and filling. The vegetable egg rolls are also the best I've had- hot crispy but not oily. And spring rolls with peanut sauce are terrific. Can't go wrong, this is a winner every time. They close early (so get there before 6:30 pm or you might miss out because the grammas in the kitchen want to get home to feed their families!) Authentic flavor, fresh and delicious. Great family owned restaurant, with one hostess who can easily manage the floor by herself when it's busy. The spring rolls were so big and delicious, I had a hard time eating my main course which was also delicious. My smokin hot wife got the curry and got a 3/5 for spice. When I tasted it, it wasn't melting my face off and it wasn't Tri Cities mild. It was exactly what it needed to be. Following the scholarly advice from the Yelpers, I went straight here when I got into town. Good call. I had excellent service and the floor and table looked clean. Ordered fresh rolls and beef-meatball pho. It came out very quickly! The fresh rolls were well made and very fresh. I got the pho all prepped and when I dug in I immediately liked the broth. It was rich and flavorful. Plenty of noodles and beef. Not so with the meatballs. There was maybe one small meatball cut up into thin slices. That was my only disappointment. So good. Was feigning for some Pho on this semi cold day but my favorite spot is too far to make it on my lunch break. Looked up Pho near me and Lao Kitchen popped up. Waitress was very nice and had water and my order within minutes after walking in. Ordered my beef pho and had it on my table with the side fixings in less than 5 minutes. Soup and broth was amazing. Best pho in Tri-Cities yet! I have been desperately on the search for good pho every since I moved from LA to Tri-Cities, and I think I have found my go-to spot. The restaurant is small and clean, with simple decoration and a friendly staff. I had the Tofu and Vegetable Pho and it was perfect. The broth was not too salty (as badly made pho broth usually seems to be) and the veggies were fresh and crisp. My soup stayed HOT for quite some time and that just added another level to the quality and care to the food they serve. I am looking forward to many more trips back. Additionally, one of the things that I appreciated was that the waitress (not sure if it was the owner) pronounced the name of the soup correctly. One of the road dumps I have found in the Tri-Cities and other places that ethic restaurant's face is the "Americanization" of their food; there is this need to dumb down their rich culture and the pronunciation of their own dishes so that they can make things familiar to their primary customer base. so I was thinking, oh lord another thai restaurant, how could ti-cities manage to support another one, granted i love thai food and probably have it twice a week haha. There is also 6 asian style restaurants in the uptown now, holy cow!! Can we get a chinatown sign already?? Nonetheless, i intentionally tried a lot of options to see how it compared to other restaurants. I have tried the beef pho, laab, pad thai, papaya salad with sticky rice, spring rolls, garlic chicken. Everything has a great flavor and nice presentation. Pad thai has a great flavor, better than most places, just a little moist on the noodles. The pho was pretty good, but probably not as good as some quality vietnamese places I have been to. I really like it overall though and have been 4 or 5 times and brought different people each time, they are all fans now! read more

I've been 3 times and I absolutely love it! We have ordered around 8 different items and they are all very fresh, very flavorful. (Salad rolls, laab, pho, lettuce wraps, chicken curry, pad Thai, Thai iced tea, and bubble tea.) Prices are quite reasonable and the staff is always friendly. read more

I don't really know Lao cuisine but some of what I saw in the menu were actually northeastern Thai dishes. Papaya Salad is a must. They use fermented fresh water fish sauce as part of the ingredient which some people might find the smell intimidating, but that's how it's supposed to be done. Larb pork was amazing too. I suggest you get sticky rice instead of steam rice with these dishes to have more authentic experience =) Be Careful about the spicy level there! At most places I have to order beyond 5 stars to get the heat but three stars was my limit at Lao kitchen. If you're not sure I suggest you start off low. You can always add heat but you can't take it out. read more

Usually other places have the vegetable pho soup in some meat stock so I was pleasantly surprised to find this. I have enjoyed the Lao Kitchen since it opened back in June of 2015. I travel and live in Richland, Seattle and South East Asia. I know and enjoy Great food. And this food is wonderful. I have met many friendly people here. From all walks of life and of a multitude of nationalities. For me the Thai coffee (Vietnamese-French style) is a bit sweet. Of course the food is spot on and the staff and service is most excellent. Even the cook peeks to see who is enjoying her food. May try to get Banh Xeo on the menu. Every time I bring a guest to dine ... We notice a great deal of Take Out walking out the door. The food, people and staff are all wonderful. Love several of the dishes. Came with three kids, staff was very accommodating. The place isn't huge but the service is fantastic and the food is very tasty. I am not a Pho connoisseur but I know good soup when I eat it. Prices are reasonable and the restaurant is very clean. It all adds up to a great experience to me! read more
