    Beef soup noodle
    Diana L.

I tried the new menu item beef broth soup with rice noodles. It was delicious! A traditional northern china dish, it came with a bun for dipping into the soup. It is a bit spicy from the peppercorn, but definitely a comfort food. Clean interior and attentive staff. Menu is digital, casual seating. Parking is always an issue on convoy, worth the wait! The spicy oil wide noodles is also a favorite here.

Lanzhou Noodlelicious is a popular, halal Chinese restaurant in San Diego known for its authentic, hand-pulled noodles made fresh in-house, visible through a glass window. We love this place, great prices and their cold salads.

Yummmm, the noodles here are amazing! They are hand pulled and there are so many options. I love a good thin noodle thats chewy and bouncy while also soft, the perfect texture. The sour cabbage beef pancakes are so good! crispy and flavorful. All the soups are yummy too. The noodle bowls have huge portions and lots of noodles.

Authentic Chinese noodle. I'm from Monterey Park and I would say that the noodle here is very close to SGV level. Their noodle is handmade (you can see the chef literally pulling the noodle from the window). Their beef noodle soup is.very simple and clean, not too oily. I do wish they have more veggies with their noodle soup, but you can always order more appetizers, which are just as delicious. The restaurant is located in a decently sized parking lot, but given it's Convoy, the parking lot becomes an absolute nightmare during prime dinner time especially on the weekend. Highly recommend to come here around 5PM if you want to avoid a parking disaster. Overall, highly recommend this place if you are looking for authentic, handmade, Chinese noodle soups.

I thought this place was under new management but turns out it's the same owner as before when it was called Green China Grill. He just changed the name. We enjoyed our food very much. The owner was our server today. He was very friendly and gave great suggestions. We ordered the beef sirloin noodle soup, braised beef noodle soup, beef pancake, cumin beef fried noodle, and lamb and beef skewers. Hand pulled noodles made fresh here. There's a small window where you can watch them make it. They were very smooth and long noodles. Both the sirloin beef noodle soup and braised beef noodle soup were similar but I enjoyed the braised beef noodle soup more because it had chunks of beef that was slightly fattier than the sirloin beef which were thin slices. Also the soup had a bit more flavor too. I loved the beef pancake. The owner suggested to add pickled cabbage in it and it was delicious. The pancake was thin and crispy not doughy. This might have been my favorite dish here. The beef and lamb skewers were very tender and flavorful. This was a pleasant and satisfying meal. Price was comparable with good size portions.

Lanzhou Noodlelicious serves popular Chinese braised beef noodle soup in the center of Convoy district, San Diego. I've visited this location in the past as I was craving braised beef noodle soup and never realized their food were all Halal. We recently had dinner with friends; we each ordered our bowl of beef noodle soup and had some cold side dishes to go with it. I liked their braised beef noodle soup (4/5), although their soup was not as flavorful as others I've had in the past. My favorite cold dish was the wood ear mushroom and tripe, I definitely would come back and order those to go with the main dishes. Loved visiting Lanzhou and would definitely come again!

No frills, budget friendly and most importantly, delicious! This ain't your fancy sit-down date night, but it absolutely hit the spot when we just wanted something fast and tasty on a week night. Located on convoy in a busy plaza, we could not find parking even 8pm on a wed night. Luckily the street nearby had some parking. No reservation needed and we were seated right away. It took a while to get our order in and many of the cold starters we wanted were already sold out. But what we got were more than worth it. I loved the tangy seaweed salad. Even the celery and tofu skin salad was good. Sadly did not get to try the cucumber salad or the woodear salad. The beef and pickled veggie pancake was way better than I even anticipated. Enough for 4 people to share for sure. For the entrees, I love that you could choose the noodles. The thick noddle and the knife cut noodle were chewy in the best way. Even as leftover they were delicious. Then the toppings and sauce... absolutely took them to the next level. Fairly spicy, maybe 2-3/5, but definitely not the most spicy ever for Sichuan cuisine. They had additional chili oil and other condiments on the table for you to adjust to your taste. The only thing that I was unimpressed with, and incidentally the only thing our server recommended, was the lamb skewers. Could used another 3 min on the grill to get some more char on the edges. However, I had a great meal and would come back for the noodles, and probably try the skewers again the next time I'm here.

A casual spot for authentic chinese noodles! The cumin beef noodles were full of flavor and had a good portion of beef and veggies. The beef noodle soup comes without spice, but you can add chili oil to your liking. The lamb skewers also seasoned perfectly and not chewy at all! I loved that they offered a large variety of noodle shapes, I tried the flat noodles and the thin flat noodles and both were great, I just wished the flat noodles were a little thicker. They also offer unlimited noodle refills if you order noodle soup on weekdays! Service was efficient and vibes were casual.

    Alexis C.

Don't let the terrible parking situation in convoy be a deterrent from eating good food! This place is such a solid spot if you're craving some hot Chinese noodles. The make their own noodles PLUS you get free noodle refills if you still have soup left (disclaimer you can't take the refill home). Since the noodles are so fresh they soak up the soup super fast but it's all ok because they won't last that long in the bowl anyway since you're about to eat them up real fast haha. I went with a party of 8 and it wasn't crazy crowded for dinner on a friday night. We were served promptly and got our water and noodles refilled without issues. Inside it's pretty no frills, so don't expect anything crazy. I'd go again for sure.

I was pleasantly surprised by this unassuming restaurant. Located in a plaza with many other Asian food stops, the competition is steep. We ended up eating here because the wait for other restaurants was too long and we were able to be seated here right away... so ngl, I was a little skeptical. But their beef noodle soup tasted of a umami clean broth, epitome of comfort Asian food. Another big hit was the cumin lamb fried noodles. Skip the beef rolls - oily with lackluster flavoring. Oh! Of note, their noodles are hand pulled! Authentic Chinese food.

    Tiffany T.

The handpulled noodles are indeed amazing here! So chewy and perfect. You can see the chef making the noodles right from the window. All the dishes were very flavorful, with my favorites being the cumin lamb sliced noodles and beef roll. I'd recommend getting a cold plate too. It adds a nice refresing flavor to the carbs. This place is located in a very busy plaza on Convoy, so be warned the parking in this plaza during peak hours is literally a nightmare.

    Monica L.

Big portions, yummy and fresh noodles! The soup was nicely umami, the noodles were the perfect level of soft and chewy, the appetizers also had great flavor! The pan fried noodles had a hint of cumin. The beef pancake was super savory and rich. The tea egg was good too! Value to get the box meal! Food came out decently quickly, ambiance is casual and lively. Staff was attentive and friendly!

Honestly, would give zero stars if I could. We walked in was greeted ,then they walked away, so we asked for assistance at the register. Placed an order and they said if under $20 it would have to be cash, over $20 could be card.. how is that good business practice? Is that even legal? Almost feels like they're making you spend extra just to use your card. Order was placed at 6:40pm, a group of 5 people came in 15 mins after we ordered, were sat right away, and got their food before us, weird but okay... another 15 minutes pass ( now 30 minutes total , time is now 7:10pm ) still no order ... all we ordered was chicken fried rice, and soup, and vegan option food.... After another 5 minutes order is finally out , ( 35 minutes total time ) Friend who ordered vegan option food was eating food and guess what was in his VEGAN option food ... YEP! You guessed it BEEF! $15.99 for chicken fried rice - very small portion ,barley fried, almost looked like white rice . Will not be going back, such a waste of time.

Came at 2pm Saturday and they were closed. Hours say till 3.

Beef noodle soup - excellent flavor overall, including a strong broth and a nice, soft texture to the noodles. Out of the countless Chinese restaurants I've visited for beef noodle soup, this makes its way into the top three. 5/5 Lamb skewers - wayyyyy too dry. This is certainly not their specialty, and asking for extra cumin to sprinkle on the lamb did not redeem the firmness. I struggled to slide the meat off the skewer and ended up just eating it while still on the stick. 1.5/5 Fish fillet - so good. Easy to eat texture-wise. Caution -- a bit saltier than it looks. The bell peppers in particular were seasoned spectacularly. 4.5/5 Dry fried green beans - a delicious option for vegetables to add to the table. Most people will enjoy this one in my opinion. A bit more crunch than I expected, which is not a bad thing. 4/5 Double cooked pork - I've never seen it cooked this way, and am not a fan. I'm used to a more oily version of this dish. It contained a bunch of dried and crunchy... yams? Potatoes? Overall, the dish was mainly crunch with no flavor, and contained a relatively small amount of pork. 1/5

For this visit, we ordered the following dishes: West Lake Minced Beef Soup: The portion was large enough for 6 people. The lightly starched broth was nicely seasoned with hint of white pepper. In the soup, there were bits of minced beef, chopped green onion, and stirred egg whites. The simplistic soup was warm, velvety, and pleasantly flavored. 3 Item BBQ Combo (House Special Chicken, Roasted Duck, and Pork Belly): The house special chicken was nicely steamed, lightly seasoned, and with beautiful gelatinous skin. The roasted duck pieces were plump, with crispy skin and succulent meat. The pork belly had crispy thick skin, and tender meat with nice rendered fat without being overly greasy. Walnut Shrimp: The portion was quite generous for the price. The lightly battered shrimps had a nice firm texture and were covered with mayonnaise and sprinkled with sweetened and crispy walnuts. What a beautiful blend of taste and aroma. Left the restaurant heart-warmed and extremely satisfied. Highly recommended.

TL;DR It's really good. I was born and raised in LA, so I've had a lot of Chinese food growing up, and I wasn't expecting to be this surprised--but I really was. I ordered the black bean eggplant and the salt and pepper chicken wings. The wings are what they're known for, but I have to start with the eggplant because it completely caught me off guard. It wasn't mushy at all--crispy on the outside, perfectly cooked on the inside, and coated in sauce without losing its texture. Every bite had depth and balance, not just saltiness. I actually meant to start with the wings, but the eggplant was so good I ended up eating half of it before even getting to them. By that point I was already getting full, but I still made sure to finish the wings--and I'm honestly excited to take the rest of the eggplant home as leftovers. By the time I got to the wings, I understood why they're popular--crispy, flavorful, and super satisfying--but what stood out to me was how both dishes complemented each other. One rich and layered, the other crisp and bright. I never got tired of eating, which honestly says a lot. I even told the staff how much I enjoyed the food and they thought I was joking, but I meant every word in saying I thought it was comparable, if not better then the food I've had in Chinatown in LA. Really glad I came here and the next time I have a chance to come back down to SD I definitely will come back here and that's not negotiable for me

The Shrimp Fried Rice should have just been plain white rice for how bland it was. The Vegetable Chow Mein literally was just a container of salt. Slim noodles and salt, disgusting! Budget friendly but disappointed since we got here after 6pm on a weekday. Good things: All u can drink soda cans by the buffet section. All you can eat ice cream but when we were there there were maybe 3-4 flavors that were almost empty and they didn't change the ice cream tubs out. Like I read from other reviewers food can be cold. Salt n pepper wings were not refilled and cold. I had to put my food on the warm white rice to try to heat it. Pork belly n pork bbq was decent but lukewarm. There is a cold section that had salad and cold dishes. Noodles were good, warm, and my kid liked the thick noodles. U get one entree per person if u do all u can eat. Got the walnut shrimp, fried rice, tofu, and French beef. The shrimp was cooked or warm but the walnuts were cold? Not even heated up with the shrimp? Beef was tender and had some flavor. Would I come back here probably not or if I did, go here when it's busy so maybe the food would be warmer. Budget not bad just around $100 for 4 but I guess u pay for what u get. Probably better to go to one of those asian buffets on Miramar road. I hope they improve and get better food warmers. Service was decent, 2 waiters and friendly. I don't like giving out bad reviews. So just don't expect to be wowed maybe try the other Asian buffet down the street (sunny/sunrise?) or look at the buffet before getting seated so you know what to expect if u change your mind. Good luck!

The green onion pancake was crispy and golden on the outside with flaky, layered bites. The sweet corn with chili dumplings had that perfect balance- slightly sweet, a little heat, and super juicy filling. The green pepper with corn dumplings had a light crunch and savory flavor. The standout for me was the Beijing zhajiang noodles. That was probably my favorite. Noodles were perfection. The owner was kind. You can tell it's a family-run spot, especially with the sweetest little girl helping out, which made the whole experience feel even more genuine and homey. We were seated in about 20 minutes, which honestly isn't bad at all. Free parking lot. Will be back soon.

So there is a line that lines up quickly and hopefully hopefully you get a seat. I don't think the biggest table can be more than four people. There's also a kiosk where you can order to go. The menu is very simple. I feel like the dumplings are actually a great price for how many pieces you get. Service was fine. The food was good but nothing solid out to us, I could taste the freshness in the dumplings but maybe because they're boiled, they were a bit bland to us. Definitely needed the sauce with it. Maybe we will be back to try something different. Overall 3/5 for the dishes we ordered that evening
