I really liked the flat noodles and the flavor was good. Make sure to stir the noodles well to coat in the sauce. The soup base was tasty and the meat was very tender in the soup. We walked in pretty late, about 50 mins before closing and we were served quickly! There's also a cute little white dog that sits in the chair. Authentic Chinese noodle. I'm from Monterey Park and I would say that the noodle here is very close to SGV level. Their noodle is handmade (you can see the chef literally pulling the noodle from the window). Their beef noodle soup is.very simple and clean, not too oily. I do wish they have more veggies with their noodle soup, but you can always order more appetizers, which are just as delicious. The restaurant is located in a decently sized parking lot, but given it's Convoy, the parking lot becomes an absolute nightmare during prime dinner time especially on the weekend. There's a small window where you can watch them make it. They were very smooth and long noodles. Both the sirloin beef noodle soup and braised beef noodle soup were similar but I enjoyed the braised beef noodle soup more because it had chunks of beef that was slightly fattier than the sirloin beef which were thin slices. Also the soup had a bit more flavor too. I loved the beef pancake. The owner suggested to add pickled cabbage in it and it was delicious. The pancake was thin and crispy not doughy. Located on convoy in a busy plaza, we could not find parking even 8pm on a wed night. Luckily the street nearby had some parking. No reservation needed and we were seated right away. It took a while to get our order in and many of the cold starters we wanted were already sold out. But what we got were more than worth it. I loved the tangy seaweed salad. Even the celery and tofu skin salad was good. Sadly did not get to try the cucumber salad or the woodear salad. The beef and pickled veggie pancake was way better than I even anticipated. Enough for 4 people to share for sure. For the entrees, I love that you could choose the noodles. The thick noddle and the knife cut noodle were chewy in the best way. Even as leftover they were delicious. Then the toppings and sauce... absolutely took them to the next level. Fairly spicy, maybe 2-3/5, but definitely not the most spicy ever for Sichuan cuisine. They had additional chili oil and other condiments on the table for you to adjust to your taste. The only thing that I was unimpressed with, and incidentally the only thing our server recommended, was the lamb skewers. Could used another 3 min on the grill to get some more char on the edges. Don't let the terrible parking situation in convoy be a deterrent from eating good food! This place is such a solid spot if you're craving some hot Chinese noodles. The make their own noodles PLUS you get free noodle refills if you still have soup left (disclaimer you can't take the refill home). Since the noodles are so fresh they soak up the soup super fast but it's all ok because they won't last that long in the bowl anyway since you're about to eat them up real fast haha. This is my go to spot for beef noodle soup! I always crave beef noodle soup with pickled mustard veges and this place always delivers. It's usually not packed when I come here though I've only been here for lunch. The menu is a little confusing but the workers are nice enough to help you with that. My only complaint is that how much beef you get varies depending on the day. The first time I came here they gave so much meat I had leftover meat to take home, but the second time I came the meat portion was significantly less that I finished the meat before the noodles. The last time I drove through the Convoy Pointe Plaza Shopping Center, this business had a different name. Everything on the inside of the suite looked the same including the lime green chairs. I asked the waitress who was serving me if there was a recent ownership change. She replied that the owners were the same, but the place had been rebranded from Green China Grill to LanZhou Noodlelicious. That explained why some of the menu photos posted on the windows still had the previous name listed on them. The menu was available as a QR code at each table. There was an emphasis on the freshly made noodles from the kitchen which led to the rebranding. A couple of new dishes were listed on the first page including a Special Beef Soup. One aspect of the menu that I appreciated was a photo of the six available noodle types. I wish more Asian eateries would have such a display so you can see the diameter and/or width of each kind of noodle. For my meal, I wanted the Beef Pancake as a starter. The waitress recommended that I upgrade to the Sour Cabbage Beef Pancake which cost just $0.40 more. I took her suggestion and also ordered the Tomato and Egg Noodles. The pancake was folded into layers and then cut into five pieces on a plate. Not only did the pancake have tartness from the cabbage, but it was mildly spicy with seasoning added to the beef. As for the noodles, they came as a thin, flat variety. The tomato and egg were plain. The portion size didn't seem to match the nearly $14 price tag. There was a 10% discount if you paid with cash. I didn't have enough on me to cover the tax and gratuity so I requested to use a credit card. The service was pleasant, and my dine-in order came fairly quickly. The quality and quantity of food for the price led me to give between a three and four star rating for my experience at LanZhou Noodlelicious. read more
