Delicious noodles! If you are craving fresh, quality noodles, then this is the place for you. Service is quick and easy, and there is a discount if you pay in cash. It has small, Asian restaurant vibes with big flavor.
Yummmm, the noodles here are amazing! They are hand pulled and there are so many options. I love a good thin noodle thats chewy and bouncy while also soft, the perfect texture. The sour cabbage beef pancakes are so good! crispy and flavorful. All the soups are yummy too. The noodle bowls have huge portions and lots of noodles.
I tried the new menu item beef broth soup with rice noodles. It was delicious! A traditional northern china dish, it came with a bun for dipping into the soup. It is a bit spicy from the peppercorn, but definitely a comfort food. Clean interior and attentive staff. Menu is digital, casual seating. Parking is always an issue on convoy, worth the wait! The spicy oil wide noodles is also a favorite here.
Authentic Chinese noodle. I'm from Monterey Park and I would say that the noodle here is very close to SGV level. Their noodle is handmade (you can see the chef literally pulling the noodle from the window). Their beef noodle soup is.very simple and clean, not too oily. I do wish they have more veggies with their noodle soup, but you can always order more appetizers, which are just as delicious. The restaurant is located in a decently sized parking lot, but given it's Convoy, the parking lot becomes an absolute nightmare during prime dinner time especially on the weekend. Highly recommend to come here around 5PM if you want to avoid a parking disaster. Overall, highly recommend this place if you are looking for authentic, handmade, Chinese noodle soups.
Their fresh noodles are delicious! I do like the flat thick noodles most. We ordered their popular braised beef noodle soup and it was really good. I recommend that dish. The beef was very tender and goes perfectly with their chewy flat thick noodles. They gave us scissors to cut the noodles. I wish they were larger scissors. The cold sesame noodle was ok. The sauce got pretty thick and the dish became clumpy. The tea egg was a bit disappointing. The appetizer we ordered with the thin crepes was pretty good though.
Lanzhou Noodlelicious serves popular Chinese braised beef noodle soup in the center of Convoy district, San Diego. I've visited this location in the past as I was craving braised beef noodle soup and never realized their food were all Halal. We recently had dinner with friends; we each ordered our bowl of beef noodle soup and had some cold side dishes to go with it. I liked their braised beef noodle soup (4/5), although their soup was not as flavorful as others I've had in the past. My favorite cold dish was the wood ear mushroom and tripe, I definitely would come back and order those to go with the main dishes. Loved visiting Lanzhou and would definitely come again!

I was pleasantly surprised by this unassuming restaurant. Located in a plaza with many other Asian food stops, the competition is steep. We ended up eating here because the wait for other restaurants was too long and we were able to be seated here right away... so ngl, I was a little skeptical. But their beef noodle soup tasted of a umami clean broth, epitome of comfort Asian food. Another big hit was the cumin lamb fried noodles. Skip the beef rolls - oily with lackluster flavoring. Oh! Of note, their noodles are hand pulled! Authentic Chinese food.

All the dishes were very flavorful, with my favorites being the cumin lamb sliced noodles and beef roll. I'd recommend getting a cold plate too. It adds a nice refresing flavor to the carbs. This place is located in a very busy plaza on Convoy, so be warned the parking in this plaza during peak hours is literally a nightmare.
Don't let the terrible parking situation in convoy be a deterrent from eating good food! This place is such a solid spot if you're craving some hot Chinese noodles. The make their own noodles PLUS you get free noodle refills if you still have soup left (disclaimer you can't take the refill home). Since the noodles are so fresh they soak up the soup super fast but it's all ok because they won't last that long in the bowl anyway since you're about to eat them up real fast haha. I went with a party of 8 and it wasn't crazy crowded for dinner on a friday night. We were served promptly and got our water and noodles refilled without issues. Inside it's pretty no frills, so don't expect anything crazy. I'd go again for sure.

The owner was our server today. He was very friendly and gave great suggestions. We ordered the beef sirloin noodle soup, braised beef noodle soup, beef pancake, cumin beef fried noodle, and lamb and beef skewers. Hand pulled noodles made fresh here. There's a small window where you can watch them make it. They were very smooth and long noodles. Both the sirloin beef noodle soup and braised beef noodle soup were similar but I enjoyed the braised beef noodle soup more because it had chunks of beef that was slightly fattier than the sirloin beef which were thin slices. Also the soup had a bit more flavor too. I loved the beef pancake. The owner suggested to add pickled cabbage in it and it was delicious. The pancake was thin and crispy not doughy. This might have been my favorite dish here. The beef and lamb skewers were very tender and flavorful. This was a pleasant and satisfying meal. Price was comparable with good size portions.

No frills, budget friendly and most importantly, delicious! This ain't your fancy sit-down date night, but it absolutely hit the spot when we just wanted something fast and tasty on a week night. Located on convoy in a busy plaza, we could not find parking even 8pm on a wed night. Luckily the street nearby had some parking. No reservation needed and we were seated right away. It took a while to get our order in and many of the cold starters we wanted were already sold out. But what we got were more than worth it. I loved the tangy seaweed salad. Even the celery and tofu skin salad was good. Sadly did not get to try the cucumber salad or the woodear salad. The beef and pickled veggie pancake was way better than I even anticipated. Enough for 4 people to share for sure. For the entrees, I love that you could choose the noodles. The thick noddle and the knife cut noodle were chewy in the best way. Even as leftover they were delicious. Then the toppings and sauce... absolutely took them to the next level. Fairly spicy, maybe 2-3/5, but definitely not the most spicy ever for Sichuan cuisine. They had additional chili oil and other condiments on the table for you to adjust to your taste. The only thing that I was unimpressed with, and incidentally the only thing our server recommended, was the lamb skewers. Could used another 3 min on the grill to get some more char on the edges. However, I had a great meal and would come back for the noodles, and probably try the skewers again the next time I'm here.
Ordered their braised beef noodle soup with flat noodles and I was thoroughly impressed with the tenderness of their braised beef and the deliciousness of the flavor of the broth. A little oily in my opinion, but it was still scrumptious. Compliments to the chef! I kept slurping my noodles and enjoyed every bite. My family and I also tried their beef sour cabbage beef pancakes and while that was a bit oily as well, the flavor was fire. Lastly, we tried their beef skewers. We had come from the spa nearby and were in search of some good Asian food. We were initially drawn in by the noodle pictures. Once there, we ordered the fried rice, the sirloin noodle soup and the hot chili oil flat noodles. We also ordered two soy sauce eggs. The soy sauce eggs were a bit dry on the inside. I really liked the flat noodles and the flavor was good. Make sure to stir the noodles well to coat in the sauce. The soup base was tasty and the meat was very tender in the soup. We walked in pretty late, about 50 mins before closing and we were served quickly! There's also a cute little white dog that sits in the chair. The hand pulled flat noodles took the longest to come out to the table. The servers were very kind and were very happy to accommodate us and food preferences/allergies. Overall, I would come again. They also had a hot chili oil at the table if you wanted to add extra spice to your food. read more

The ambiance was lively, the servers were working their butts off the keep the dining space clean and were also super sweet/friendly, and the food was yummmmyyyy! maybe i just wish there was a little more meat in the soup? Honestly, would give zero stars if I could. We walked in was greeted ,then they walked away, so we asked for assistance at the register. Placed an order and they said if under $20 it would have to be cash, over $20 could be card.. how is that good business practice? Is that even legal? Almost feels like they're making you spend extra just to use your card. Order was placed at 6:40pm, a group of 5 people came in 15 mins after we ordered, were sat right away, and got their food before us, weird but okay... another 15 minutes pass ( now 30 minutes total , time is now 7:10pm ) still no order ... all we ordered was chicken fried rice, and soup, and vegan option food.... After another 5 minutes order is finally out , ( 35 minutes total time ) Friend who ordered vegan option food was eating food and guess what was in his VEGAN option food ... YEP! You guessed it BEEF! $15.99 for chicken fried rice - very small portion ,barley fried, almost looked like white rice . Will not be going back, such a waste of time. read more

This is my go to spot for beef noodle soup! I always crave beef noodle soup with pickled mustard veges and this place always delivers. It's usually not packed when I come here though I've only been here for lunch. The menu is a little confusing but the workers are nice enough to help you with that. My only complaint is that how much beef you get varies depending on the day. The first time I came here they gave so much meat I had leftover meat to take home, but the second time I came the meat portion was significantly less that I finished the meat before the noodles. They also have chili oil on the table but be careful as it is REALLY spicy. But it's so good! read more

I've been wanting to check this place since I heard it was halal, and a steaming bowl of braised beef noodle soup sounded perfect for a gloomy rainy evening. We shared the noodle soup, shrimp noodles, and their beef skewers. The noodle soup broth was clean and the chunks of braised beef melted in my mouth, though I do wish there were more. The dish came equipped with comical pair of tiny scissors to cut the long, hand-pulled noodles which were perfectly chewy and had a nice bite to it. Their dishes were further elevated by their house made chili oil, definitely bringing on the heat even with a small spoonful. The beef skewers were another fan favorite, similar to a kebab but seasoned differently with cumin and other Asian spices. The shrimp noodles were also delicious, on the spicier end of the spectrum, but I personally enjoyed the beef noodles more. read more
Solid food at a no frills place. Their noodles are made fresh and have a great chewy texture. I do prefer the flavor of the biang biang noodle sauce at ShanXi better but it is probably just a personal preference; I found myself adding extra black vinegar and soy sauce that is readily available on the tables. Lamb skewer had a nice seasoning on them but came with some fatty pieces. The beef pancakes were good but I wish it came with some hoisin or other sauce. read more

The last time I drove through the Convoy Pointe Plaza Shopping Center, this business had a different name. Everything on the inside of the suite looked the same including the lime green chairs. I asked the waitress who was serving me if there was a recent ownership change. She replied that the owners were the same, but the place had been rebranded from Green China Grill to LanZhou Noodlelicious. That explained why some of the menu photos posted on the windows still had the previous name listed on them. The menu was available as a QR code at each table. There was an emphasis on the freshly made noodles from the kitchen which led to the rebranding. A couple of new dishes were listed on the first page including a Special Beef Soup. One aspect of the menu that I appreciated was a photo of the six available noodle types. I wish more Asian eateries would have such a display so you can see the diameter and/or width of each kind of noodle. For my meal, I wanted the Beef Pancake as a starter. The waitress recommended that I upgrade to the Sour Cabbage Beef Pancake which cost just $0.40 more. I took her suggestion and also ordered the Tomato and Egg Noodles. The pancake was folded into layers and then cut into five pieces on a plate. Not only did the pancake have tartness from the cabbage, but it was mildly spicy with seasoning added to the beef. As for the noodles, they came as a thin, flat variety. The tomato and egg were plain. The portion size didn't seem to match the nearly $14 price tag. There was a 10% discount if you paid with cash. I didn't have enough on me to cover the tax and gratuity so I requested to use a credit card. The service was pleasant, and my dine-in order came fairly quickly. The quality and quantity of food for the price led me to give between a three and four star rating for my experience at LanZhou Noodlelicious. read more

Service was fast and if you pay with cash, there is a 10% discount. We do have Lanzhou in Los Angeles. Came to visit and meet up with friends. Love their soup, taste was light but filled with flavor. Also ordered their three item appetizer. Not too salty but some items can be very spicy. I love that you can choose the thickness of the noodle and the noodles are made fresh to order. Parking can be a bit difficult as the spaces are small and tight. They have a lot of restaurants and tea places in this plaza. read more

I haven't been back for a long time, and we miss their noodles. This time, we ordered a big plate chicken noodles, a cold rice noodle salad and a big bowl of beef slices and clear noodles. All of the foods are so good, just as delicious as before. Since we ordered from Hungry Panda app, we didn't eat at their restaurant, all the packing is nice. We will definitely come back! read more

local halal noodle place in Kearney Mesa, wide range of delicious eats including chopped beef sandwich, beef noodles, lamb satay and many more noodle dishes. lots of seating. services is fast but they don't come by much so tough to get water refills. read more
