My last day at the YMCA!…read more The YMCA Director Ronna Kassel decided months ago to lock access to 2 of their bathrooms on the gym floor, forcing all class participants and gym users to walk to the other side of the gym to the two dirty bathrooms there or go downstairs stairs to the locker room. Unfortunately, on busy days there is a wait to use the bathroom on the gym floor or you have to find a staff member to unlock the bathroom, If someone is actually available. There is NO gym supervisor on the gym floor. If no one is available, then you just have to wait or go to another floor. I emailed the Ms. Kessel over the weekend and no response.When I went to the gym this afternoon, there were senior citizens coming out one of the classes trying to open the locked bathroom doors. They were frustrated too. When I went to the front desk to complain last Friday, the receptionist " Katherine" started to argue in front of staff that the doors were not locked, although she works part time on another floor and rarely comes to the gym. The YMCA needs to do better! Smh

I love that there's free morning childcare for the little ones, lots of kids classes and family swim opportunities. I've attended a few group classes and have really enjoyed feeling like part of the community. Classes are tough, full of great accepting people, and I've never felt shamed, even when I'm panting in the corner after the warm up. Staff is so helpful and super friendly, even the cleaning staff, who have helped me find where I need to go after circling the pool 3 times. Come to the Y and support an amazing business!

The middle section was where the fake fire place was at and where his gifts were being kept during the duration of the party. The back third was facing towards a cemetary. Like the other reviewer stated, it's not really creepy. It's actually really nice. The window was huge and I'm sure you could have put up some sort of curtains if you didn't want to see it, but I liked the fact that my guests were able to sit by the window. The only reason why they didn't get 5 stars...bc they lost my room setup sheet that I submitted when I made my final payment and when I did make my final payment, the person couldn't find my original contract. UGH!! Made me very nervous when I received a phone call the day before my event informing me that they didn't have my floor plan. I was kinda nervous they would cancel my event cause I thought they also didn't get my last payment. They need a better filing system. I think I might have gotten them some new clients! :-) Some of my friends liked it so much, they picked up the renting pamplet.

Kids in the after school program get homework help and have great fun. Adults find a place to get a GED or ESL tutoring at a very low cost and individuals struggling with addiction find the support they need. Every Saturday 50 seniors enjoy a free hot meal, music programs and companionship. Sports leagues fill the gym night after night and many neighbors find an affordable venue to host a party. The staff keeps the place looking great and are welcoming to all who enter. This is a place where the community comes together like no other venue in the area.

I am…read morein a wheelchair. wasn't sure how I was getting in the pool, as I am a double leg amputee. then a lifeguard approached me, and kindly, asked if I needed help to get in the pool. she showed me the lift chair Ithat puts you in the water. never knew that was a n option. I however being independent, explained to her, that I wear knee pads on my knees, and I walk on my knees, as you walk on your feet. you have to understand when you have no legs, people look, but you roll into a public pool in a wheelchair, people really look. I'm the type that doesn't like attention brought to my condition, I fly under the radar when possible. my point being s this female lifeguard, said to call her "Q". she was so pleasant and friendly, made me feel at ease and less of a spectacle. I'm going back soon, and it will be better this time. All because "Q" took the time to make me feel like a regular Pearson. She saw the Pearson, not the wheelchair! So THANK YOU "Q"your the best!

The swim instructor was hesitant to get in the water. At first I thought, "this is great.; she's sitting on the edge of the pool to see what I needed work on" Fast forward to the second class in and I was in disbelief. She actually NEVER got in the pool. Apparently getting her hair wet is a big no-no! Furthermore, the place is very messy. The building is old. I decided to take the plunge (no pun intended) since the price was reasonable but would not recommend this place for swim classes for adults.

I've actually seen the woman at the front desk, Sheree I think her name is, greet everyone as they walk in. She even knows her member's names. Most places just sign you up then forget about you. What an AWESOME experience our second graders and teachers had on our first field trip to…read morePhiladelphia Rock Gym, East Falls location. From the moment the buses pulled up, we were greeted by a friendly staff member and brought through the gym to unload our belongings. The staff was EXTREMELY patient, hands-on and caring to our elementary students. They had a whole itinerary ready to go from the minute we arrived. Team building activities were spread out across the gym, while other groups climbed the walls and ate lunch. Throughout the entire day, the crew at PRG had everything under control and running smoothly! Thank you for an amazing experience and for going above and beyond for our students and this experience!! We truly appreciate all the work you put into making our trip the best one yet! We look forward to booking more trips with our students at Philadelphia Rock Gym!
