How is this company still in business, and who is the rude person answering the phone? Seems as though she is talking to prisoners instead of customers. When I mentioned her rudeness to the driver -- who was professional -- he just nodded his head, as if this is something expected and accepted by this company. The last time I called for service and waited too long, I called back, and she said the order had been cancelled...by me! Totally untrue. Stay away from Lang's Towing. read more

Lang's was detailed to as I needed roadside assistance to a tire shop. The tow truck driver let my car roll off the bed of the truck causing damage to my front end including my bumper. read more

State police gave this number said they were the quickest. It is a CAR POUND. State must get Kick Back. . On phone 3+ times. Waited for man to talk to supervisor for cost of pick up. Charged 90.00 for keys. Made up charges. Cash only. Place would NOT pass any inspection from state inside building. DO NOT USE BATHROOM. Disgusting. 0 rating read more

Absolutely awful experience with this towing place. From the moment I interacted with them, the staff was incredibly rude and disrespectful. Their attitude made an already stressful situation ten times worse. I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this place at all costs if you want to be treated with basic human decency. read more

I was concerned for my belongings in my car i saved videos live and everything was recorded, what was in my vehicle everything was written down and everything was on live camera and recorded. reading some of these reviews I will double check that everything was in my car was in it at the end. Nothing fell out of my vehicle and Im positive of the things that were in there. All personal items in vehicle were immediately reported to police. All my personal belongings were recorded and know exactly what was in that vehicle, if something's end up missing there is overwhelming evidence of who and when they took those things, and the evidence that was sent to the officers will be highlighted again, and I will ensure they're held Responsible for what they have took if anything does end up missing. Not only will law enforcement be involved but my whole team of attorneys. read more

Incompetent and useless. Find someone else. Wasted 2 hours. They canceled and didn't notify me. Cancel bc the donut was broken. Main reason of why I was getting it towed to a tire shop in the first place. read more

No way it should have taken someone 3 in half hours to come get me off the side of the road. Terrible service and definitely would not recommend any one to this towing company. As for Progressive please get another towing company. read more

This is the worst towing company I've had the misfortune of dealing with. Agero, through State Farm selected this towing company on my behalf. It was 10 degrees outside and they told me it would be a 1.5 hour wait for the tow. I told them I obviously couldn't wait there in 10 degree weather so they told me to leave my keys in the car. They were supposed to tow my car to a dealership in downtown Chicago. There is obvious parking next to the dealership for car service. The tow driver instead parked my car in the alley behind the dealership without my knowledge. I spent the next Saturday looking all over for my car at different impound lots. I had to pay to get my car out of impound and I had to pay for a new tow to tow it back to the dealership. The people that answer the phones are snarky and seem to be from another planet where customer service is non-existent. I had been hung up on after calling twice, and when I asked why I was being hung up on some idiot said "ma'am you weren't being hung up on I was switchin the phone lines." What the hell is she even talking about? No one cares about what mistakes were made even if they were BIG mistakes. Agero told me they would remove them from their list, and I hope they did so no one else has to suffer like I did from this tow company. read more

I wish I could give negative stars. Idk why they're in business, they're lucky to be a needs based business. Reading the reviews I'm really surprised the insurance companies will actually use this service. I'm even more surprised that the incredibly rude lady who answered the phone is still working there. She said we were trying to "rectify" her (doesn't even make sense) because we told her we left, as they told us it would be over an hour. We told her we left to get coffee and would be back in 10 min. She then said she was canceling the tow and hung up on us. We were not rude to her before she popped off and got smart...idk what her issue is. Maybe pick another job if you're so miserable and feel the need to transfer said misery to everyone you come across. The driver left. Even when we called the insurance company back, the automatic system said the driver would arrive in 6 minutes. Meaning the communication is off and apparently they just do whatever they want, whenever. Progressive needs to fire this company. read more

Lang's was dispatched from my insurance company as I needed roadside assistance. They were prompt and empathetic to my situation. Paul was professional, courteous and had good taste in music (Chicago House). 5 stars all around and I would definitely recommend. read more

Dispatched thru Progressive Insurance. Waited over 4 hours for a tow that was canceled ... on two separate occasions. Dispatch & driver were both extremely rude. read more

Tow company showed up an hour late after the tracking app said they've should've already arrived. Tow driver was rude off the bat, and moved slow as molasses. He had to have my boyfriend help him get the car on the platform because he clearly isn't fit to be doing this type of work. In past experience, I've never had to help a tow truck driver get a car on the truck. That's their job to do. Upon arrival to the drop off spot, the driver was so bad that my entire block came out of their houses to watch the 30-minute spectacle of this man attempting to get the car into my driveway. He said the street was tight but he had ample room, and instead of letting my boyfriend help him, he continued being rude. Three of my neighbors moved their cars (one neighbor moved two of his cars), to help this poor man out. Just awful and embarrassing. Please State Farm never pair me with this company again. read more

****It's sad that the response time is horrible**** my interactions with dispatch was professional and so was the driver however sitting in the park last night along was very scary, original eta was 8:17-8:24 after several texts of apologies and calling my sister to come sit with me....I made it home by 10:pm read more

Two stars because the driver was very professional and helpful. Even took the initiative to explain things I was unaware of. However I waited over 3 hours for service, when my initial wait time was 60-90 minutes. After calling about the 100+ minute mark, time was extended an additional hour. Called them an hour after that and the receptionist/ dispatcher was very rude and unsympathetic. She stated it would be about 45 minutes, due to the "weather", it was drizzling outside! She was also giving wrong information, and unaware of where the driver actually was. He called 10 minutes later heading to my vehicle. So while my interaction with the driver was 5 stars customer service and wait time were 1 at best. My initial call in was at 5:30 and my car was finally dropped off at 9:10. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. ZERO HOSPITALITY ON THE PHONE!!! Straight trash!!! "Laaaangs how can I help you, Laaaaaangs please hold, Laaaaangs how can I help you?"- all in one sentence. This wasn't a recoding like I first thought. This was a real live person saying this. Wtf? Then when I asked what time they closed, she processed to ask me info about my vehicle... so wth does that have to do with the time YALL close? Nothing. Answer the damn question that the customer FIRST ASKED. Then someone from the background said "4" when I said "can u just tell me what time y'all close?" Thank u to whoever that was. Fix the way you answer the phone. I work in hospitality and service and this was complete TRASH!! No wonder why you guys have 1 star. Not like u care cuz u work in the office and y'all tow crashed cars off the eway so you're gonna get your money regardless but still. Would u want to answer to someone like that? No. Sis fix how u act on the phone. You don't have to be a hood rat all day. read more

My insurance company posted this company as I needed a tow and have emergency road side assistance. The approximate arrival was 90 minutes to 120 minutes, according to the insurance app. After 120 minutes the arrival time on app disappeared. I called the insurance company and the rep contacted the towing company. The tow would be another hour as they were towing other cars. The weather was clear and dry so I didn't understand why it took so long. I canceled the tow. My insurance company needs to remove this towing company's services as other reviewers have had bad experiences. read more

I am writing this review on behalf of my grandfather, on 1-17 he received a tow from Lang's Towing. The tow took over 3 hrs when the driver arrived the driver Alex was very polite, my grandfather was able to driver in the tow truck and noticed the truck had a strong smell of marijuana, he asked the driver and he stated he did not know he had just started his shift. The strong smell made my grandfather light headed and very uncomfortable. I feel this is very unprofessional and unfair to have workers working under these condition. I will not be using this Tow company again or recommending it to any friends or family. read more

This company does not deserve the 1 star rating wish there was a way to give them No Stars. Initially called for a tow on Tuesday evening apprx. 3p. Figured it would take some time and I got off at 4:30p. Waited until almost 6:30 all the while the checking their virtual map with the ETA going from 22-40 minutes to jump to 50-85 minutes. Called Lang's directly was advised the map was incorrect. Eventually cancelled, called for new tow 9:30a Wednesday only to be given the same "RUNAROUND"! At 4:44p spoke to the most UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDEST rep to only to be advised nothing can be done until after 5p. HARTFORD INSURANCE you should be ASHAME to have a contract with this company!!! May be canceling you next!!!! read more

If I could give an negative star rating I would. Talk about taking advantage of people when in need. Wife was in an accident last night. State police initiated the tow. I informed the driver vehicle should go to body shop in the local area and with the consent of the state trooper the tow truck driver said ok. Upon arrival, driver demanded $300.00 cash to release the vehicle. Will be reporting to attorney as well as the Channel 7 I team. read more

They were dispatched thru my car insurance Progressive when my car's battery was dead and I needed it taken to the shop. The dispatch center lady was responsive and communicated clearly (although where she was working was kind of noisy, she was friendly!), and when I had to reschedule bc the auto shop I wanted was close to closing, they helped me reschedule and sent Marcus to get my car. Just make sure you tell them whether you intend to ride the truck with them or not, because certain drivers do not allow it apparently. He was very kind and helpful and even helped jump start my car so that I could take it out the parking lot (his big red tow truck couldn't fit thru the parking lot entrance) and he helped drive my car safely onto the ramp himself, and he let me give him my keys so that he could drop it off to the auto shop for me. My car was taken care of (well, as much as I could get it to be fixed... but that's a different issue) and I got it back safely. Thank you Marcus and Lang's for helping during a cruddy situation. Especially Marcus for being so friendly and patient. read more

I called Chevy roadside assistance for a tire change and Lang's Towing was dispatched to my area. The tow truck driver looked high as fuck that's fucked up my AC auxiliary lines. Very dishonest company. I have a 2010 Volvo XC60. I would not trust my car with just anybody, so I asked my insurance, Nat Gen, what a dependable towing company would be to tow my car back from the dealer in Indiana. This company was recommended. It has been six hours, when we are only an hour away from the dealership in indiana. We had to call about ten times, and it took three different people to understand the situation. When i called employees, it seemed as if even the driver did not know where he was going. In the future, it would be way more helpful if the business would be honest up front about their actual ETA instead of giving us momentary hopefulness. This towing situation caused me and my family a lot of anxiety, and we will not be using this business anymore. I wish that they would have respected my time better. I could not even imagine the amount of distress that those who depend on this company to help them out during a period of being stranded on the road, in an unsafe city, etc. feel when dealing with this company. This company would be so much more effective if you could see in real time where your car is. We continue to get lied to, and lied to, and lied to. even if you aren't a car person, do not trust your baby with this service. update: the man who delivered our car was so kind. We are just thankful to have our car back. read more
