Without all the details, I was stunned by the immediate defensive attitude of the office manager when I inquired as to why I was told my appointment was at 6:45 am (I arrived early as you do for a 1st visit), when in fact they won't open the doors until 6:45 am, so I waited in my car for 30 minutes. "Just wait in your car with the motor running." and "It's not even cold today." It was 36 degrees. I was also told I would have my annual physical (the whole reason I made the appointment) before I came in, but when I got there I was told I'd have to come back for that, that this was just a meet and greet. I can't comment on the doctors as I never saw them. I wasn't going to stay after being treated this way. Hard to describe in words how hostile they reacted to my asking questions about the offices communication. Guess they aren't used to being called out on their condescending behavior.

I am very sad to be leaving his care. so, why the one star rating? well... he decided to change his business model to a concierge medicine model. the example would be a gym membership. you want to be seen here... it'll be an extra $80/month just to be part of his practice. this also leaves out something that has come up with my wife a few times. she tends to have overall poor health and has had some incidents where she needed a boil drained or whatever and rather than taking care of it there (while she was there in his office) he sent her to any emergent care clinic of her choosing. as much as we've trusted (and really still do trust) them as a whole I found that odd. this led to even more "Hmmm" sort of thoughts. he didn't (or doesn't?) seem to keep any vaccines on hand and referred me out to the local Albertson's, Walgreen's etc. when I was forced by work to get a shot. most of this I can deal with but, it all plays into the same thing. more money for what is apparently LESS service. if it weren't for the face-to-face interactions I've had with Dr. Duncan being so amazing and his staff so completely helpful I would've left on my own years ago.

I spent over a year trying to get Dr. Dybro to take seriously my complaints of menstrual irregularity with extreme pain during menstruation. I was in my 30s, young for perimenopause. I thought I might have endometriosis. She thought I had PCOS, which test results did not support. She stood by her diagnosis because she discriminated against my body type--I have always had visceral body fat, as do most people in my family. It's our genetics. She couldn't see past that and was counseling me to develop an eating disorder: things she actually told me: "Maybe you should stop eating fruit" when I told her I was already eating a low-glycemic diet, and "It's pretty normal for women your age to be in pain." Eventually I prevailed and got an ultrasound. It showed that I had endometrial cancer. I needed emergency surgery, but I luckily caught it before it had spread to other organs. I can't even imagine what would have happened if I hadn't kept fighting for appropriate care. I started going to this clinic because I heard they were queer friendly. That may be, but they need to seriously hold Dr. Dybro accountable for rampant fatphobia (I was a size 14 at the time of treatment, I can't even imagine how larger people were treated). No one else should live with excruciating pain that turns out to be cancer for over a year because she thinks they're just eating too much fruit and their pain is "normal."

She's unable to discuss more than a singular issue in an appointment after showing up into the room a half hour later. The other reviews on her competency lines up 110% with our experience. In past phone calls with office manager Dale R, he stated that Pioneer Family Practice has taken on too many clients per doctor, and the quality of client care absolutely shows that. Dale R refused to give his full name after yelling in our faces when we took a photo of Dr. Yan Geng's name on the wall, a spelling which is uncommon. We should've known taking a picture of our doctor's name would've resulted in being kicked out and Dale R's face becoming inches from ours. Good luck to any present patients, our now retired doctor told us to leave before the transfer to Dr. Yan Geng. We wish we had listened, it would have saved huge headaches and some hope for the future of Pioneer Family Practice

All they really do in take you blood pressure, weigh you and give you a new prescription for phentermine. Check with your insurance company. Multicare Health and Wellness in right now the street on Lilly Road and is covered by Regence Uniform and some other insurance programs. It is more comprehensive. The have a psychologist and a dietition. All covered by insurance.

I asked the office about notifications and was told they did mail outs. Where is mine? No email, no snail mail, nothing. I feel this is negligent in many ways.

It is my understanding that she is heavily involved in community service and mission trips as well, which means a lot to me. Her office staff are professional and polite. They return calls quickly and are top notch. Also very important, SHE DOES NOT KEEP YOU WAITING. She honors your time and doesn't keep you waiting in the waiting room or exam room.
