Instead, they were just cut back -- and the enormous roots were left for us. We paid for thoughtful service -- and instead, a bunch of idiots with high powered weed whackers turned up and destroyed our garden. They were a disaster. I was so excited to come home from home and find our courtyard looking nice -- and now I am gutted because it looks terrible. Do.Not.Hire. Oh -- and after I sent an email complaining, I received a reply saying that what we had gotten was what we had agreed to. What a crock. No one would have agreed to the disaster they left.

One sent an email just parroting what we talked about at the meeting and them expected us to sign a document. The one that did the neighbor's yard didn't call back despite us leaving 3 voicemails and our number with SOMEONE there who answered the phone one time. Can't say I'm very impressed with landscaping business's here. Santa Rita is a big company, but honestly, they got to us right away. Lori, the designer came up with a great design, even revising a few times for us. Once our HOA approved the design, they put us on the start list quickly. Went fast once they started. Smiley and his crew were friendly, respectful and the foreman went out of his way for us several times, even after I personally (and accidentally) punctured a drip line. We had one hiccup which is common with any construction job, but they fixed it right away. I would definitely recommend them. Professionals all the way.

It is an absolute oasis! Matt, the Construction Manager, was very responsive and came to our home with Allen Denomy (Owner and Principal Designer of Denomy Designs) to walk the backyard and hear our ideas. Both Matt and Allen were extremely professional and helpful in offering suggestions on how to make our ideas come to life. We worked with Allen to design the backyard and were blown away at how quickly he put our designs together. He was very detail-oriented and offered a lot of creative ideas that we would have never conceived on our own. The design process was iterative, and we felt Allen heard and implemented our feedback so we always felt comfortable that we would end up with a design that would actually work and look beautiful. Once our design was finalized, Matt scheduled and coordinated all of the materials and labor. He quoted us 3 weeks to finish the backyard. To our pleasant surprise, everything went according to plan (and budget!) and they finished everything on the promised date. Matt was very communicative throughout the construction process, and it was easy to get ahold of him if we had any questions. They contract almost all heavy lifting machinery out, which made our fairly simple project very expensive. The plants they brought with them were all very small and within the 90 days several grasses had to be replaced. There are so many glowing reviews here on Yelp, perhaps we did not get the full experience of working with them since the actual landscape design was done by the architects. So, I might not rule them out if you're looking for a full rain harvesting set-up.

Easy appointment set up to look at the job. He was patient and explained what the job would entail. He put his bid in writing and there was no pressure. We had enough time to make an informed decision. He and his crew showed up within the window of agreed upon and finished 2 days earlier than the promised completion date! The crew was polite and punctual. They were careful and made sure our outdoor furniture were out of the way. The clean up at completion was very decent.
