I have had chiropractic treatment on and off throughout my life so I feel I'm very aware of the benefits of good spinal alignment. I met Dr A about a year ago through networking and have had a chance to get to know her. She is a very kind, authentic and caring person. She is knowledgeable, helpful and supportive. This is who she is, not who she's trying to be when you're her patient. Last summer I relocated my aunt to a living community closer by me in order to be her aid and advocate. My aunt suffers from a genetic disease in my family that affects her muscle control and body movements among other things. I noticed how my aunt's posture was incredibly off center while trying to dress her. Her hips go to the left and her shoulders go to the right at an alarming angle. An angle that appears to be almost 45 degrees! I asked her if she would like to see a chiropractor and she shared with me that she had seen a chiropractor regularly a few years ago but it didn't really help. I suggested we try another Dr and she agreed. I knew that Dr A would be a perfect fit for my aunts interpersonal needs so I made the appointment. My aunt lives in Huntington Beach and Dr A is in Brea which is quite a trip but I hoped my aunt would get some relief. After a thorough intake interview Dr A got to work. Before she did anything she would tell my aunt what she wanted to do and got my aunts permission. Each movement, each step. This was profound for both my aunt and I since my aunt does not get a choice in what's happening to her body and Dr A's natural sensitivity was incredible. For the remainder of the visit, she would gently massage and stretch my aunt's back muscles. First completing one side and then the other. No rush. No spine adjustments. Dr A showed me how I can continue with the same techniques in order to help my aunt's muscle contractions. It is going to be a longer than usual treatment plan due to her disease and a long car ride but when the visit was finished and my aunt was back on her feet I cannot begin to describe the difference I saw!! My aunt was standing straight!! It was almost surreal and there is no way I would have believed there would be that dramatic of an improvement in one visit. And although she was going to be a bit sore, she said that she felt immediate relief. I can not recommend Dr A highly enough!!! I had right shoulder pain when throwing a softball or football in my twenties and never sought treatment for it. I figured I would just live with it. After looking high and low for a Webster certified chiropractor, I found Lander on Yelp. My first! I was desperate! Lol! Good reviews and great Yelp deal! Bought the $35 for $70 deal. They set me up on the same day and I waddled in 9 months pregnant with backache and misaligned shoulders. (Yes, I was so tense + bad posture + years of carrying everything on my right side and being pregnant, my body shifted to the right) The staff were efficient and friendly. I didn't have wait to long after filling up paperwork to be seen by Dr. Anastasia Lander. She's warm, friendly, made me feel right at home and she got right to work on my aching body after accessing me. She explained and let me know what she's doing and why she's doing what. After getting all the kinks and loosening my tight and tense muscles, cracking joints and bones, she said I'm all "straightened" out! I made another appointment to see her that week for a follow up. Before leaving she told me drink lots of water and take a nap. I walked out a bit apprehensive as I didn't really feel any difference. The next morning I woke up feeling like a damn QUEEN! First off, I LOVE ANASTASIA. Love her. I've been running for the last few years but last year started training the Tinkerbell half marathon. Running that, plus the increase in mileage took a toll on my body. The week after the half, I hurt myself so bad I was limping for the week after, but didn't know WHAT was wrong. I went to another chiro for treatment but didn't find the cause of it, unfortunately, and just treated the pain. I was referred over to Dr. Anastasia Lander from my boyfriend's coworker (she runs marathons!), and I'm so thankful. I've been seeing her for the last 3-4 weeks, and it turns out I had a BUNCH of different things wrong with my body. My butt/hip ligaments were twisted, I wasn't running with my butt (what?? lol I had no idea!), my ankles were misaligned, and I had bad running form! I'd apparently been running completely wrong and she promised to fix me, but only if I'm willing to work for it. She slowly gave me exercises and warm ups to do before and after running. You have to do the homework or you won't get better! Currently, I'm still taking it easy with my running (no more than 20 mins) with run/walk intervals, but I have been seriously pain free for the last 2 weeks. I have a 10k in Aug and another half marathon in Nov, so I"m soo happy to be back on the road and running pain-free. What she does is that she doesn't just treat the pain you are in. She finds the root issues and works with you to fix them, and create good habits to avoid anymore injuries. Just make sure to DO YOUR HOMEWORK! haha. Approximately two months ago, I pinched a nerve in my neck working out. Though I had never seen a chiropractor in the past due to misinformation regarding chiro care, I decided to give it a shot. Upon arrival, I felt very comfortable. Her and her husband, Dr James Lander, were informative and very professional. I had been having some pain in my knee for a few months and it was keeping me from running and working out. I would rest it and it would get better, but as soon as I did anything strenuous it would start hurting again. I was referred to Lander Chiropractic by a friend, and I'll admit that I was a bit skeptical at first. I thought, "it's my knee that hurts, not my back. What is a chiropractor going to do?" But my friend explained that they specialize in helping athletes recover from injuries, so I decided to give them a try. I met with Dr. Anastasia, and she looked at my knee, worked on the muscles around it, and gave me some stretches and exercises to do at home. While I wouldn't call the therapy particularly comfortable (not painful, but not pleasant - like an intense massage), it REALLY helped my knee. I was able to run and workout the next day without pain or limitation, which I hadn't been able to do in months. It has been a few weeks now and my knee is holding up great. I think it's only fair that I write a review for Lander Chiropractic since I'm now feeling much better. I've been getting treatment here for a few months now and have experienced faster results than physical therapy alone. At the beginning of the 3rd trimester of my pregnancy, I developed low back pain and sciatica. I thought it would somehow go away after I deliver the baby; that didn't happen. I started seeing a physical medicine doctor, taking pain medications, and doing physical therapy after giving birth to my daughter earlier this year. Unfortunately, the healing process was taking longer (after the initial 6 weeks). I couldn't carry my own baby nor stand up/walk longer than 10 minutes. Out of desperation, I decided to try chiropractic care and acupuncture. I was skeptical at first, but now, I'm a true believer! I've been seeing Dr. Anastasia for chiropractic care and Dr. Mike for acupuncture. The combination of both treatments were very beneficial to my recovery. Both doctors are very cultivated in their fields and passionate about what they do. Dr. Anastasia is also funny. She makes you feel like she's your best friend. I certainly feel comfortable talking to her! Dr. Mike is very sweet and friendly. He's very gentle when handling the needles. I've tried acupuncture in the past and the doctor somehow poked the wrong vein that my arms became very swollen and painful. I'm glad that this hasn't been the case with Dr. Mike. Additionally, the staff is very nice. They make me feel welcome every time I'm there. The office has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I've also had a massage therapy session with Maria, and she's really good. Her hands are strong but not painful. I've been to those $20 "reflexology" massages and $120 "fancy" massages before, and the massage therapy with Maria was by far the best! She really focused on my problem areas, and knew exactly what technique to use. Overall, I am very pleased with the services offered at Lander Chiropractic. My twelve year old son has been having severe heel pain for three years. We took him to his pediatrician, who suggested we see a podiatrist. The podiatrist said his issues were from the rate at which he was growing and recommended shoe inserts to help with the pain. The inserts did little to help and the pain continued. We visited the podiatrist several times and were basically told the pain would stop when he stopped growing. But, there were times he was in so much pain he could barely walk. So we kept looking for answers. After talking with Drs. James and Anastasia Lander about the problems our son was having, they recommended we bring him in to see if they could help. We had very low expectations for any immediate changes. Dr. James asked a ton of questions during my son's first visit, before even getting started on a physical exam - my son felt he was really listening to him. When the physical assessment started, you could see that Dr. James was already figuring out what was happening with him. He worked with my son, made some adjustments, gave him some stretches to do at home and asked to see us in a week. On the way home, my son said that his body felt so relaxed and that he thought his heels felt better. Within a couple of days, he was definitely noticing a change in his pain level. After his 2nd visit, he was continuing to feel even better. And now, over a month later my son is pain free. We are so grateful to have found Drs. James and Anastasia. I love this place. I had my first visit last week with Dr. Anastasia. She took her time going over my history so she could determine the best treatment method. I became a patient here after a small car accident in August of 2015. I was referred by one of my best friends who brings her infant son here to get adjusted by Dr. Anastasia to help with digestion and constipation issues. I never knew infants could get adjusted! Apparently it helps a lot. While I was getting treatment for my minor injuries due to the car accident, I found out I was pregnant. Turns out Dr. A and Dr. Mike, the acupuncturist, specialize in pregnant women. Having recently had a miscarriage as well as pre-exisiting back issues (scoliosis and compression fractures from an ATV accident a few years ago), I decided to continue treatment after my car accident injuries were taken care of. Dr. Anastasia has been monitoring my pregnancy, making sure my ligaments are too tight and ensuring that I don't develop complications related to pregnancy.
