No frills Beach side resort in Seaside. The view from the ocean front room was the best part of the stay! Everything you'll need is in the room to make a quick meal and relax with an ocean view. The walls are very, very thin and floors above are creaky- you can hear conversations and footsteps from the surrounding rooms. You're provided earplugs at the bedside- definitely needed if you're a light sleeper. Tip- parking at the front is limited and ideal for smaller vehicles. There is a gravel lot on the side of the resort with ample space for larger vehicles and proximity to a first floor patios. Enjoy the view and waves crashing on the patio! read more

Amazing view! We stayed in September so it was sort of the off season. We had a second story room (highly recommend for the view). The Check in was quick and we were given a key card. I'm not sure if the the hotel had an elevator we used the ramps and stairs to get to our room. The rooms were nicely decorated with a sitting area, kitchen area, bed and the bathrooms had heat lamps! We didn't really used many of the amenities since we were only there for a night. Easy drive to the downtown area and walking distance to a few restaurants. Beach was the best part. Being able to walk right out of the hotel and see all the birds and other animals. Only complaint was the noise above. You could hear every foot step. Luckily they had similar sleeping schedules so it didn't interfere with our rest but I imagine it could be an issue if family stayed here. read more

I will start with the good things. The room was nice, not run down and old, the carpet was decent, the view was great and it was decently clean. Although you could see that someone had been in the room after the housekeepers. The living room seating was a leather reclining sofa. VERY comfortable! The staff was nice. Now the not so nice: We had a top floor room so thought it was going to be nice and quiet.This was supposed to be a QUIET weekend for my husbands birthday. It was NOT. The neighbors to the left were SO LOUD. They had a dog in their room who barked several times. We could hear every footstep and conversation. Sounded like a party. Didn't get quiet until well after midnight and then up again at 6 in the morning. The hotel seriously needs to upgrade sound barriers between rooms. I said it was decently clean because the sofa had 2 cup holders on it and there was sand and a gum wrapper in one side. I have left hotels for not being clean. This was something I could live with. I cleaned it out and called it good. It wasn't hair in the bathroom or toothpaste on the mirror. That's just gross. And we couldn't park in front of the building, had to park on the street next to the fence and walk to check in. I have awful knee issues so that was hard. Not The Lanais fault but an easier check in would have been great. Sadly we won't be back. For $200.00 I really wanted quiet. We like quiet! read more

A very enjoyable and relaxing one-night stay in Unit 46 (on the third floor) with a lovely view over the water looking out towards the town of Seaside. Booking and check-in was smooth and efficient with welcoming staff. The unit was clean and comfortable. Please note that there were no elevators. I had a couple questions before booking. They answer their phone nor do they return emails. I ended up booking a room somewhere else.

One night stay. Friendly staff. Beautiful location! Cute beachy room decor....BUT carpet in room filthy, coffee pot not cleaned out, cooking utensils dirty- yeck! No excuse for that! Especially during Covid farce! Bring your own wine opener here and no pans for cooking. Also no foil or plastic wrap. Only plastic utensils and paper plates and cups. One real complaint I have -you can feel every darn footstep in the building go through the bed and chair. Why can't they build hotels with better reinforcement???? Like I said, beautiful view of ocean. We put up with the rest for that. Not sure we will be back. read more

I'd give zero stars if I could. Absolute worst stay. Ground floor room, walked in and immediately smelled overwhelmingly like chemicals. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable. Sleeping on the ground would have probably been better. The people above us were having a party and it was so loud it sounded like they were in our room. View of the ocean was beautiful but the people upstairs kept walking up directly in front of our slider door to talk to people on balcony above giving zero privacy. Couldn't even enjoy the view as we ended up having to close the curtains to have any privacy at all. I would not recommend this place at all. What was supposed to be a wonderful anniversary weekend turned into a nightmare. We got up at 4:30 am (after being awoken every hour all night by people upstairs) and showered and left. This hotel is hands-down a DIAMOND in the rough (so to speak). Only 60 min from Hillsboro! Very clean and quaint rooms with plenty of parking and literally yards from one of THEE best surfing spots on the north Oregon coast known as "The Point" at Seaside Cove (check the beach camera; aka Lanai Beach cam). You are close to supermarkets, restaurants, bar/pubs, gas station and only 8 min from Hwy 26! This is one of the worst hotels that I have been to in the US especially during this pandemic time. When we got there, the bedsheet and pillows still have hair from previous or different guests. Issue resolved quickly and easily This is our first stay at the Lenai, it's an older motel with recent remodel and the rooms are above average. Truly one of the best ocean views of any hotel on the Oregon Coast. And they are pet friendly But.. the walls are so thin!! Omg!! We heard the bed squeaking with the couple of above us had there special moment, he (I assumed he). Was a little gassy this morning and you can hear the toilet flush, they also got up this morning at 6:23 with load voices so load that we thought they were at our door..and heavy steps and they open there slider very 10 minutes or so.. so I think the price of $200.00 average a night is way to much!! I almost don't want to tell you how fantastic this place is because I want to keep it for myself. This place is a hidden gem and I can't wait to go back! When I was looking for a place to stay, I think I viewed every hotel in downtown Seaside before checking here. Everywhere else was over priced and the rooms were basic, boring, cookie cutter corporate chain looking. The rooms at the Lanai are all individually decorated and have personality. Our room was sparkling clean when we checked in and the housekeeping staff were all super friendly when I saw them in the hallways. We had originally booked room 27 but when we got there, Barb, said they had a cancellation of one of their nicer rooms and she moved us into room #23. It was a jaw dropping sight when we walked in. A beautiful room with the ocean right outside our sliding glass door. You literally take two steps outside and you are right there. At night, they have two large lights on the corners of the hotel so you can still go out and see. Two of the great features of the hotel are the outdoor heated pool and the beach fire pits. The last hour of the pool time is adults only. The evening times are beautiful out back with all the fire pits sparked up. We purchased wood at the Safeway in town as well as s'more makings. Spending time on the ocean with your own camp fire beat anything you could do in town. I know most people think staying in downtown Seaside would be the best option. But this hotel is only a mile and a half away. We just drove in, parked and walked around. The entire staff here was super friendly, the room was impeccable and the evenings were quiet and serene. I've found my place to always come back too when I visit Seaside. read more

This hotel is an older (updated) place that you can hear your neighbors but wasn't horrible- I only notice in morning when neighbors alarm went off. This place is great. View is amazing!! Staff are friendly and helpful. They really do care about the facility and the guests. Its an older facility but nice. If you leave you porch door open, you can listen to the ocean all night which blocks any other nose you may hear. I loved that the ocean was so close!! Watched birds and kayakers from my porch. The room is eclectic with a mix of furniture. Pluses: cute gift basket for the animals. Had a towel and sheet, with some doggie treats. Pool was immaculate, Wayne takes great care of it! (Hubby is a pool guy and knows and was very impressed!). Coffee was delicious. Clean dishes and tables. Everything was clean. To improve: the fan in the bathroom needs to be fixed. Horrendous noise, so couldn't really use it. A new pair of scissors is needed in the drawer. We will be here again for sure!! read more

This place can not get any better or closer to the ocean. Tip: get a 3rd floor room and leave the door open all night for a natural sound machine! Owners and workers are super pleasant and genuinely care about your stay. The rooms come with a kitchenette with everything you might need to make that lasagna. The parking is plenty with parking equipped on the side of the building. The neighborhood is upscale. Plenty of walking trails and spots. Beach access. What more do you need? We stay here every year. Love this location!!!! We will be back! Spent three nights at the Oceanside of this sweet hotel. The rooms are pretty outdated but they are in the process of updating them all. From what I've seen, the updated rooms are going to be great! The customer service was great! We were visiting from Canada so they put the Canadian flag up for us. That meant the world to us! We loved the lower floor as we were able to walk from neighbouring rooms by the patio or walk right to the ocean from our room. Rooms were very clean. Great walk from the hotel to the downtown, along the sand or the prom. We would really like to come back in the summer to enjoy the warm weather. I would highly recommend this location. read more

(This review is for the Lanai at the Cove hotel -- I am not sure what condos are referred to here since the picture is clearly of the hotel on the main Yelp page.) My stay at the Lanai with a friend and my two daughters was great. The rooms tend to fill up fast, so I had my reservation in place for a month to get the last 4-person room they had available. When I arrived I was told that my room was not rentable and that I should have received an e-mail about moving me to a new room. I didn't get the e-mail (they forgot), but that's okay because the room I booked was my least favorite of the 4-person rooms anyway. Instead, I got a newly remodeled room on the upper floor (there are 3 floors and my original was on the ground floor). I was told that the carpet was torn a bit in the unit (and it was) and I would receive a 15% discount for it (which I did). I thought that was very generous since the carpet didn't look great in one spot, but it didn't hinder the experience. I was moved to room 47, on the top floor on the far corner of the unit. As luck would have it, room 46 was also being remodeled, so I didn't have to contend with anyone right next to me. I did have a college group of kids with a dog directly below me and they were pretty loud. They were up until after midnight being loud but my kids managed to fall asleep and my friend and I watched a show on her tablet until they were done. We would have called if it was a real problem, but the floors are pretty thin. Since it was winter hours, even though it was 65 degrees and sunny outside, the heated pool was not available. My youngest would have liked to have swam but if it's winter hours, it's winter hours. The room itself (outside of the carpet) was in exceptional condition. The bathroom is small -- I hit my elbow on the door a time or two while changing in there, but it is clean and the shower was in great shape. The view outside was fantastic, having a rocky beach just outside of the unit and a great view of the ocean. The best part is that that there were ready-made firepits outside (at least 4 of them) and we used one for S'mores and to sit outside and enjoy the ocean. The only knock on this is that there are two huge spotlights that shine on these. So the best two are the farthest outside firepits so you can enjoy the fire and not be completely encompassed by the lights. Although I imagine the lights keep it safe out there. There were two other groups using firepits and they were far enough apart that they didn't bother us at all. Overall, I had a very good experience. For only $135 (winter hours), it was a pretty darn good deal for the service we received (the front desk was very friendly and housekeeping got us towels lightning fast when we requested them. The view was excellent and if we had stayed longer there was a kitchen area we could have easily made dinner with. With the exception of the college kids downstairs -- which I'm sure could have been dealt with if we had called in to complain about -- the experience was wonderful and I would definitely stay again the next time I am in Seaside. read more

Cute place. We stayed in room 38, one night. Second floor room with a great view of the beach. The bed and linens were very comfortable. The room had plenty of towels and the kitchenette was stocked with the basics we needed. There are beach fire pits right outside the room and several people posted up at one during the evening, which meant we had to close our curtains or have zero privacy. The room was peaceful, with the exception of the room above us, which we can only assume was occupied by a family of sasquaches and a leprechaun who awoke at 5am and practiced their river dancing. You can hear everything. Overall, nice stay. Would stay here again, on the top floor. read more

It made our entire trip when we stayed here for our last few nights not only was it great to open up a sliding glass door and see the ocean but it was cool to be able to walk out the door and have a late night fire s'mores and drinks while listening to the ocean! We came to Seaside to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. I picked this hotel without knowing anything of the area. The view was fantastic. The setting perfect. Quiet, peaceful and not terribly over-priced. Off the beaten path, away from the tourists. But, not so far away that one can't walk there. This is an awesome beach, with some great scenery - and this place has a great location to take all of that view in. It is about a 15minute walk from the shops and restaurants of dt seaside - but for those that may want to be away from that, this place is perfect. One thing i would recommend for anyone staying here, is to book the ocean side ground floor condos! Waking up and seeing the beautiful waves along with the sea lions, and other wildlife that comes along with it - is absolutely priceless. Pricing is great (for what we payed, approx $125/nt) considering it is a full condo with kitchen, and fridge. Its great because the safeway is right in town so you can stock up on food, etc and just come back and cook your own meals! Great for families especially! On the negative side, our suite's sliding glass door was extremely hard to open the entire trip, and the walls seemed quite paper thin at times. Overall we will come back again to this place because of the value, and the view! read more

We have been coming to the Lanai 2 or 3 times a year for over 30 years and have always enjoyed our stays. We recently booked a 3 night stay and arrived at the motel at 4:30PM. This is 30 minutes after our check in time. When I went in to get registered, the manager came out like I disturbed whatever he was doing. When I told him I would like to check in, he went back into a business mold. After doing the paperwork, we went up to the room we requested which the maid was still cleaning it. The manager said something but never apologize for the room not being ready. The maid realized we were waiting for her to finish and did the best she could do. She admitted she didn't have time to deep clean it and it showed with the smeared main window. My wife and I will continue to come back to the Lanai but I hope with better results. read more

First of all, I want to say that we enjoyed our stay and we will be back. The location is perfect. It's quiet, it's away from "downtown" - which was comforting during COVID. Yes the walls are thin but no one is raging until midnight here. My suggestion for improvement comes from a hospitality background, as I know what should have happened and what did not happen during our check in. Every room is different, and the cool thing is you can go online and reserve the room you want. We chose a 3rd level room for the view, to keep the sliding glass door open all night and also because we are two women who do not feel safe on ground floors. Upon check in, I was given a room key and invoice. When I questioned why I was on the ground floor, the gentleman at the counter had to check the computer. He then stated the room we reserved had a toilet leak so that room, and the room under, were closed for construction. Look, I totally get it, these things happen. However I was given no advance warning, no options and no real genuine apology other than "I'm sure you don't want to stay in a room without a toilet". Wow. We stayed the night in the bottom room, but I'm underwhelmed. I return to the front desk the next morning to encounter a lovely woman who made it all better! She immediately moved me to an open third floor room (granted they were sold out the previous night, but I could have been offered a move the next day had I wished- again, no options given at check in). We moved up and for the the next nights, we were in heaven. Fire on the beach, wonderful views, a great time for our wedding anniversary. Front desk could use some communication improvements and customer service (from the man, not the woman mind you) to ensure you've met every expectation, especially for the price per room. read more

The Lanai sounds like a fancy name chosen to make up for a basic, typical-looking motel. But boy, was I wrong. What an unexpected surprised to come across such a cute place. We stayed in room 32, which is one of their best rooms. It reminded me of a bed-and-breakfast sytle room. The decor was super cute & quaint country-style. It had a balcony that looks out to the water, a kitchenette, and comfy arm chairs and couches. The room looked like it had been newly updated. And the rates were affordable. Best accommodations I have had in seaside. It is a bit off the city but a 5 min drive to the downtown area which is nice when it is busy. Love the location right on the beach. Pretty sunrises and sunsets. Went to find tiny hermit crabs in the tide pools. They have little campfire spots set up right out by the beach which is great for s'mores. You can watch the surfers which are out there all year long. Very entertaining! Liked the lights at night too so you can see the beach. I loved the room. Unit #47. You would never guess this place was built in the 60s. You can hear the neighbors if they are noisy but quiet hours seem to be well enforced. All rooms are a bit different but much bigger than they look in the pictures. And all up to date. We had a kitchen with toaster and oven/stove. Bathroom had a hair dryer and soaps were great. We had dishes and silverware. Didn't like that we had to wash them on the way out. Bed was cozy and tv had a DVD player. Pool was closed but open Memorial Day until October? Not sure on that end date. Looked nice. Parking was great, plenty of spots and free. Thanks for the great room, will stay again. read more

But I did try out the bed and it was very soft. Also, the view was great. I loved how you could walk right out to the beach. Finally, the pool was amazing. It was so warm and I had a ton of fun. They had an employee who messed up our booking we made in January for July and then made us feel we were at fault. She has since been fired. Management was very condescending and treated us as if we were lying. Offered a paltry discount if we ever came back but nothing for our trouble this time. So if we come back they still make money off of us...just less. We declined. We couldn't change hotels as it was July 4th. We came here every time we were in Oregon and really loved this place but now don't feel welcome here. Hoping management reads this and does something better to mend fences. read more
