My 1st experience here was good but this one.... So disappointing. Every shop you go to there is a matching polish to the gel color. So they paint my toes & nails and didn't even realize the shades were completely different. So I call. He says on the phone it's similar when it's clearly not. I ask if I can just get white when I come back. He tells me to come back anytime. so I come back 9am right when they open & he asks what color I want. I told him I'll just do white and he told me it would be $10. I was never told this on the phone. He tells me if I don't get a yellow then he's charging me $10. I asked him to pick out a yellow that matches my nails because they picked out the "match" the first time. He picks out a few different yellows, all darker than the one on my hand. Absolutely LOVED this place. I'm not one to switch up salons, I have been going to one in Salisbury but I wasn't going to be around that area this week and needed to get my nails filled. Looked up a bunch of salons and Lana's has some of the best reviews. Called yesterday to make an appointment for early this morning as some reviews said they can get pretty busy. Definitely good advice because by 9:45 the place was getting pretty packed! I didn't get my nail technicians name but she was fast and efficient! She did an incredible job. I could tell the owner was disappointed when I opted for old-fashioned acrylic. Prices are fair, but they can get up there. I only went in for a refill so the shape was already set. Service: They were busy when I stopped by. My nail tech was friendly and greeted me. She was quick. As I was under the dryer I accidently smudged the polish. I wasn't going to say anything but she had noticed out of the corner of her eye and immediately called someone over to fix it. Even though I said it was it was okay. So that was nice. Venue/Décor: Light blue interior with good lighting. Up-to-date nail chairs/stands, plenty of displays that show examples of their services. They have TVs, it's clean, no overbearing smells. Really enjoyed this nail salon. As soon as you walk in they are welcoming and ready to help you. Also, the nail salon is very clean. I've been searching for ombré French nails and they showed me their variety of different ways they could do them via the nail board. This impressed me because most salons in the surrounding area do not know how to do this. Also, they shape your nails to exactly what you want, the price is reasonable for the service and the highly skilled work they do. I will be returning to Lana Nails for all my nail needs! This was my first visit to this nail salon. I got my nails done here 7/21/18 as a treat for my birthday, not only is my pointer finger crooked but my other nail didn't even last two weeks. My mom and I went for pedicures and we tried to go the day before, even called ahead to make sure there was an opening. The owner (or whoever the gentleman up front is) said it would be no problem, when we arrived there was more than a 30 minute wait, with no where to even sit. We left and came back the next day, which i called ahead again and then gentleman said no problem, he wasn't making this up this time. I understand that in a business like this, nothing is predictable, but if you're going to be that busy and have a wait for that long, at least have a place to wait or be honest about the wait time. The technician who took care of my mom was extremely rude, she didn't even use a hot towel on her legs, the water was cold, she paid NO attention to tending to her toes. I mean you legit have ONE job. I actually felt bad for my mom and we have NEVER been to a place that rushed us in and out so quickly and did absolutely nothing. Mind you, they lied about the price... they told my mom $32 for a regular pedicure, turns out that's for NO polish and absolutely nothing done, you are better off staying home and soaking your feet in a tub. I was charged for a gel pedicure that i didn't even want and then the gel wasn't even applied properly, i said something to the technician before leaving and she simply filed it once and said "ok"... no. So my daughter and I had appointments for pedicures at 5:30 we were told to pick a color and have a seat in the pedi chairs. My girl started on me after about 5 minutes waiting. And she had her legs wrapped in towels(which were cold by now)we wiped her legs and decided to leave. The woman was in the back doing a wax on someone else. Absolutely horrible! I was barely acknowledged when I walked in the door. I made an appointment asking for Kim and instead they gave me a guy that doesn't know what he is doing. I've only been to this nail salon 2x (today was my second time) and so far it's good for what I need. I do have a few "complaints" but overall I will continue to come here until I find a better place. The establishment is pretty large on the inside but they don't have a "waiting area" for customers. During Covid they were asking people to sign in and wait in their vehicles so they only have 2 chairs for people to wait. Now that everything has opened back up fully maybe they should consider a different approach. There are numerous nail care chairs and I believe 8 pedicure chairs. Depending on the day all the chairs are usually filled with customers. This is a "GEL ONLY" nail salon. Even though they have regular nail polish (the matching color to the gel) on the shelves they won't use it - the ower/manager says because of Covid which I don't quite get. Because it's gel only, service is pretty fast but a little more costly. They offer an array of services and everyone I've had so far seems really nice. Also they are cash only! They have a TON of colors to choose from and even through they are usually busy they are not short of staff. I've had two different people do my mami + pedi and each time is was a different experience in how they did it. Finally, I'm not sure how they do their pricing but it was different each time for the same thing. I have gone to Lana nails for a good few years, yesterday I went to get my nails done, Linda did them and they looked beautiful. My nails were $80 and the first thing I did was use the ATM and pull out $80, and paid the shorter man who is at the counter. Next, I go into my wallet and count out $20 in the form of 4 $5's to give to my nail technician. While I was going through my wallet, when counting out the $20 for her tip, I pulled out a $10 out of my wallet that I was just setting aside (onto the counter) while I took the 4 $5's out of my wallet. I then walked only a few steps away so I could I give her the tip I took out for her. I then look back onto the counter for my $10 i had just set there, (which the guy at the counter saw me do) and instead of the $10, two $5's were sitting there instead, (which I assume he thought I was asking for change for a $10), all flustered from having to leave to rush to work. I ask him about the $10 I just put on the counter and he proceeded to snatch the 2 $5's that he just put there instead of the $10, and realizing that I was confused and didn't realize it was mine, he took the 2 $5's. I went out to my car, I started checking my wallet because before I entered the store I only had one 10 dollar bill in my wallet which was gone because he took it. I went back into the store to confront him and he instead made me feel stupid by saying it was his money, when I had already paid and tipped before he even took the $10. He knew I paid already, and he knew the $10 was mine. I left feeling upset because I am a 17 year old girl and I have came to Lana nails for years. Had a gel manicure done here last week. It looked okay at first--the gel wasn't applied super evenly and there were spots without top coat, but it didn't look bad unless you looked close. A little polish got on my fingers, but it's not too bad to scrub that off at home. But now I'm on day 6 of this manicure (again, gel) and they're already chipping.
