I'll start with the good then the bad. They got me in extremely last minute. I was switching job…read moreand loosing my insurance for a while and I stopped in on a Friday at about an hour before they closed. To my surprise the very friendly staff and Doctor saw me l, even as a new patient. I was extremely impressed by this. All their rooms were clean, organized and appeared well maintained. I have a really bad phobia of things in my eyes and can deal with the old puff style pressure test but the new style creeps me out and they were able to do it relatively quick with minimal discomfort or distress on my part. They have a decent selection of frames but seems a little steep on the price but that's ok as I prefer to shop and spend my money locally. Found a pair that was similar to what I had but it was larger and therefore heavier. I placed my order for them and it took about a week to come in as I got special lenses. This is where it turned south for me. They came in and I was given the glasses without any attempt to fit them to me. The one nose piece was very badly bent to one side and I asked if they could adjust it (I didn't want to break it being brand new). She adjusted the one yet didn't touch the other which I had to manipulate to make even with the first one. When I put them on WOW. Not a good wow. I'm 40 and have had glasses since I was 10 or so. The focal point was off or something. Being new I told her it was off but it was probably just the new prescription I had to get used to, so I left. I didn't even make it to my vehicle and the nose piece she had just adjusted broke off. I turned around and went back in to tell them. Unfortunately they did not have another one of this frame in stock. They apologized and said they'd get it ordered. A week goes by and still no replacement. A second week goes by and they finally have the replacement. The new one the nose pieces are in good shape and not needing major adjustments, just a few minor tweaks on my part. The new frames have the same focal issue. I tried and tried to get used to them. I seriously thought I was having a medical issue at one point when I couldn't read a price tag at the store. Headaches and blurred vision. I finally placed a zenni, online china based store, order with the new Rx and waited. In my mind I was prepared for the same focal issues and headaches but within SECONDS of putting on this internet stores order my headache went away and I can read again. I orderef from the online place about 4 years ago and had reorder the same frames but with the new prescription. I don't know what got screwed up but this has been and painful experience. TWO stars ONLY because they were friendly and very accommodating of my schedule. I don't know if their lab messed it up or they entered the wrong numbers, or the frames weren't designed for my pupil distance, or what! I would recommend them for the doctors services but absolutely NOT for the glasses.

One man even left out of frustration, saying he'd rather come back another day than continue waiting. That says a lot. This pattern of delays and poor scheduling is not respectful of your patients' time. Please reassess your booking process and make the necessary changes. Staff are typically kind and apologetic, but it's still frustrating.

In passing I mentioned I might need driving glasses and the doc said okay to wait a couple years. Back in the lobby, they quoted me an extraordinary $400+ AFTER INSURANCE for a single pair of glasses. I took my prescription to Walmart and got them for $150, all the same features. Waited 10 days, got my glasses...and they didn't work. York had given me a prescription for driving glasses. I had to wait for them to MAIL (from the 80's, I guess) the right prescription. Back to Walmart, waited another 10 days, got my new glasses and...WRONG AGAIN. Called York to ask and they said it was for 12-18" distance. Now I'm out $300 for two glasses I don't need. They won't reimburse me. They won't make me even one correct pair of glasses at no extra charge. They won't admit the first two incorrect prescriptions are their fault. They said I should have told Walmart the distance (b/c a doctor's prescription doesn't have all the pertinent info?) They said to tell Walmart they got it wrong and make me another with the new prescription--like they're not going to charge me AGAIN for a new prescription? No accountability, no customer care, no stepping up, fessing up, and fixing the problem, just blame someone else instead of providing an easy fix. Absolutely horrid and unprofessional behavior: just keep denying until the customer gives up and goes away. Well guess what York: HERE I AM.

My previous eye exams had just taken way to long so I decided to try someone new. (NO way I should…read morebe there almost 4 hours for a simple exam at Walmart!). I was able to schedule an appointment and was seen on time and was done and out of there in about a half hour with my trial contacts. My eyes didn't get along with the new and improved multi focals so after a few trials he ordered me a pair of some he does not carry normally. Four pairs of trials, but every time I called or went in everyone was very helpful, friendly and professional. The cost was a little more than the other guy ($20), but the difference in service was priceless. I have a new eye doctor!!!

Minimal time. Dr Garza pays attention to listen to my questions and did not rush to go see his next patient. The staff patiently spent time to explain eyeglasses quotes - no pressure to purchase at all. The office is clean throughout. Highly recommended! Dr Bond got me in fast, and ran a few tests. The answer was this: "I know what's wrong, but I cannot treat it. You need a retinal specialist." One phone call from Dr Bond, and 24 hours later I was in with one of the top retinal specialists in North Texas. 3 months later, I'm in UTSW with one of the top specialists in the country. The bottom line is, without Dr Bond, I would probably still be sitting at home, almost a year later, "waiting for it to get better"! I'm super thankful for such a knowledgeable doctor, with the expertise and resources to get me to the right people! 5 STARS. She probably saved my vision!
