After researching Salon Reviews, and Southern Charm Salon had the most in Cedar Park, so I decided to set an appointment with the stylist who'd had her license the longest, thinking time equaled experience. That stylist happened to be Jennifer Gunderson. In preparation for my appointment, I found a lot of photos from multiple angles, of the Highlighting Style and Color that I wanted. Jennifer Gunderson took her time asking me questions about what I wanted, discussing styles and answering my thousands of questions. I felt very comfortable with her knowledge and patience. When she was thru, I knew that I found a stylist that I knew could trust to actually "Listen" to my concerns, "Look" at the multiple angles of the highlights and style that I wanted, and she made me "Feel" that I was her only Customer during my appointment. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Jennifer Gunderson, and definitely recommend Jennifer to everyone!

UPDATE- Immediately after my review, she sent a threatening message. Quoted:…read more "Kaylee, you left my chair happy and even made a video saying how pleased you were. If you continue to harass me or my business, I will contact Westlake Derm and make them aware of the situation, including the comments you made about their staff. I was respectful to you throughout your appointments, even when the conversations were difficult. Please stop contacting me. If this continues, I will take further action." WORST STYLIST! STAY AWAY! On August 28, Lindsay quoted me $300 for a haircut and color (a "mini"). On September 5, she convinced me to pay $375 for what she called a "FULL" service to achieve the look I wanted. What I received were three or four uneven, thick, damaging highlights and a haircut. She curled my hair before I left to make it appear presentable, but the next day the reality was clear: 3 highlights on the right, none on the left, and a harsh line where brown met blonde. I sent photos to other stylists, who said it was nowhere near a full service or even a mini service. On September 11, I paid another stylist $228 to fix Lindsay's work. The second stylist confirmed that Lindsay's highlights were too thick and any additional correction would only cause more damage. Lindsay never provided a receipt or documentation. She denied a refund and offered only a "touch-up." I initially requested a full refund, then suggested a partial refund or a respectful resolution, acknowledging she had used time and products. I was not comfortable with her working on my hair a second time. She ignored my calls and texts, and later blocked me when I asked her to remove my photos from her social media. These posts misrepresented the work as complete and successful. I was not a happy client and I did not consent to her using my images because it was not an accurate representation. I'll ask again as I did before: "Hi Lindsay, I was really unhappy with the service. Please remove the photos. Thank You." From the start, Lindsay displayed unprofessional behavior, even commenting, "Wow, I thought the girl before you was bad," in reference to my hair. She also knew I was on a budget, yet when I suggested a partial refund, she made a dismissive comment about finances, showing a lack of professionalism and respect. Her site notes she charges 95% of the quoted price for late cancellations (72 hours) yet she pressured me for more money despite knowing my budget. Red flags were present from the beginning. She lacks professionalism, respect, and transparency, and will not complete the job as promised. I am not the first unhappy client she's had. I don't think I'm the first one she's blocked or removed. DO NOT HIRE LINDSAY BALAYAGE Words from other stylists who reviewed my hair: * "It looks maybe like a half-done partial." * "It looks like it's still all untouched underneath." * "She didn't do enough foils, leaving it dark and uneven. The back was darker than the front, the root shadow wasn't done correctly, and the hair was striped-looking."
