Pretty Authentic Taiwanese restaurant in Calgary! I was so excited to see a Taiwanese restaurant while on vacation. More so the food that we got. Came here on a Sunday afternoon around 3pm and had plenty of seating indoors. Ordered some Passion Fruit Tea with Boba (so refreshing after a long walk and the boba was nice and chewy), edamame, Chicken Fried Chicken (included rice and some veggies, the chicken was seasoned and deep fried nicely) and also the Beef Noodle Soup (great noodle qq texture and broth was hearty). Rock solid Taiwanese noodle bowls and more, yes! Had the Signature Beef Noodle soup which was loaded with a perfectly savory broth, bok choy, cilantro and a side of chili sauce. Delightful. My lunch companion had a similar dish with a broth name I don't recall, equally delightful. It's a clean and inviting space and service was polite and attentive. I'd definitely return here, in particular to try their xiaolongbao which (my opinion) is a very difficult dish to do well. In an area of town that's rich in noodle bowl restaurants you have to be on your A game and I think Lambo is right in there. Highly recommended. read more

A clean and very nice place for Chinese comfort food. We tried their potstickers, Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings) and 2 noodle dishes. They make the dumplings in house and it's pretty good. I have to admit the soup dumplings did not have any soup inside but it was still tasty. The noodle soup was perfect for a cold winter day. Though coming from Toronto we were spoiled with hand pull noodles and was really hoping for fresh noodles made in house but it was not. I also ordered their strawberry cheese tea drink it was delicious! For $5 you get a huge mug! :) Overall, the food was tasty. They have quite a few Taiwanese snacks to choose from. The main reason we came here was for the pork soup dumplings (Xiao long bao) unfortunately we were told they were all sold out for the day - this was at 3 pm. We ordered the signature beef noodle soup, unagi rice and beef pancake rolls. Beef noodle soup came with 2 thin slices of beef, a piece of bak choy and of course the noodles. The noodles were too soft for my liking. Unagi rice came with tons of rice and 2 pieces of unagi. This would be better if some veggies came with it. I expected a better dish. Beef pancake roll was one piece of pancake filled with slices of beef, cucumber and some green onions, cut into 4 pieces. I found it to be very oily. read more

Probably my recent favourite noodle restaurant that I went too. If you want to try different soups than ramen and pho , this is the place to go. The environment is aesthetically pleasing and instagram worthy. The food is worth the price!! I recommend ordering the beef brisket noodle soup and house special tea. read more

Had lunch at Lambo. I like that there is free parking out front of the restaurant. The restaurant is quite spacious, clean and modern-looking. Food: well, it's really, really good! Ordered Beef Brisket with tendon noodle soup, both the regular and the clear broths. I particularly liked the one with the darker broth. It had a deeper flavour and had mustard greens added to the broth. Also ordered Mustard Greens and Pork Dumplings and the seasonal vege- Shanghai bok Choi with good in sauce. Broth needs to be a tad hotter. We like the good cos everything was eaten in haste!! Great customer service. Will be back! read more

We are VERY IMPRESSED by their beef noodle soup. So surprised to find that traditional Taiwanese taste here in Calgary. It tastes like home. And I'm sure if you like Chinese food or Taiwanese food, you'll be impressed by this place. We came in here on 9/20 and 9/19/2019 for dinner. (We are in our vocation trip to Banff and Calgary). The waitress was SO friendly and professional! She smiles all the time and takes care of each table! One person takes care of the entire restaurant with speed and kind service. Really good job! If you want a bowl of decent hot soup and a traditional Taiwanese taste after a cold day, I certainly recommend their beef noodle soup to you. Feedback to manager, you definitely shouldn't just put 1 staff serving all the tables and doing busing and doing cashier. It's not professional and might make you lose a few stars if you do this long term. The waitress on 9/19 and 9/20-- she's doing good job so I'm giving 5 stars. Lots of parking and good tasting noodle soup! Overall, worth trying although slightly on the pricey side. The Taiwanese fried popcorn chicken is a real downer. It came out not with the expected spices and a small dish of dip. Dip?! Dip?! Dip for Taiwanese fried chicken?!?!?! I wish they offer the fermented cabbage for the beef noodle soup! It'll be even more authentic! The portion is on the small side for the price paid and can be easily improved with a tad bit more noodle and vege (instead of a small half of bakchoy). However, I love the generous, thick and tender beef chunks! I will be back to try more noodles!! And maybe a drink next time! read more

Sunday dinner at this place was so satisfying! We had deep fried tofu which was soft and pillowy. The bao which was so pretty and filling followed by the truffle pork soup dumpling which blew my mind in flavour and texture! The mustard green with pork dumplings brought me home to mom's cooking with black vinegar and soy. We also shared a beef tendon, tripe and brisket noodle soup that had an excellent, rich beef broth to which we added hot sauce. Noodles were chewy and smooth. The service was attentive and it's very clean. I highly recommend giving this place a try. Next time we'll partake in more snacks like the fried squid or yam fries. read more

The noodle soup was tasty but quite overpriced. Very little noodles and skimpy on toppings but soup was good. If you like passion fruit tea this is probably one of the best one I have had in Calgary. If you like these style cafe with these noodle soups, I highly recommend trying 3Q Bistro. The soups are similar but and very reasonably priced. read more

I picked up 3 bowls of noodles for take-out tonight. The noodles weren't even cooked. Maybe 30 seconds in a microwave. I called and said I'd be bringing a bowl back -- after we had already poured the hot broth on them -- b/c the cook disagreed and said he always cooks them. duh! By the time I got back the noodles were half done due to the hot broth ... and the cook said "see... they were cooked". Avoid Lambo like the plague ... zero stars is appropriate. "Theft Noodle Bar" should be their moniker. A hoped-for nice surprise for the family turned into an aggravating experience that wasted $50+ along with much of my Friday evening. (I forgot to mention that they said the noodles would be ready in 30 minutes, yet when I got to their restaurant after 40 minutes they said they weren't ready yet!) read more

I'm half Taiwanese and recently moved from Los Angeles to Calgary. I've been hunting avidly for good Taiwanese food and this is the best place I've found. Their XLB (soup dumplings) have the correct taste and consistency. Other places, even some in Calgary's Chinatown, have not had the meat taste right, or the skin has been too thick. Lambo's other dumplings are great too, especially the potstickers. The fried pork chop is on point as well. This place will be in our restaurant rotation regularly! read more

Aesthetically, this restaurant is styled very nicely. It looks smaller on the outside but is bigger on the inside. As I sat down to look at the menu, I quickly turned my focus to the "Noodle" section (the main reason of coming to Lambo). I kept reading each dish after the next... there were only about 10 different noodle dishes, and all of them soups. Nothing looked appetizing (but maybe Taiwanese noodles are just done differently than I'm used to). I decided on ordering the beef and tomato noodles and got deep fried wontons as an appetizer. The noodles were $13 and the wontons were $6.50. Oh yes, and that was another thing- appetizers. They had chicken nuggets, French fries and yam fries on their apps menu. That was a total turn off for me. They shouldn't have had to Americanize and already pretty basic menu. While all of this was going on, there was the music. There was EDM (electric dance music) playing in the background the entire time I dined. It threw off the whole vibe of the restaurant. Why not play some Taiwanese pop or something?? Again, too Americanized. My husband went to use the washroom (sectioned off by very thin curtains), and just outside the bathroom doors was a large trough-like sink with an electric hand dryer next to it. Using this hand dryer was extremely obnoxious because the sound echos throughout the entire restaurant. Not classy at all. I'm not even sure why they thought this was necessary, seeing as how the washrooms have their own sinks and hand dryers inside them already. The wontons came first- there were about 6 tiny wontons that looked like they were frozen and then baked. For $6.50 (a little over $1 for each) it was not worth the price. They tasted fine though and were served with sweet chilli sauce. The noodles came out, and the first thing I noticed was a big slice of a tomato laying on top. That was pretty much the only "tomato" thing about the soup. Very disappointing and unappealing. There was half of a large bok choi in the dish as well, which I enjoyed but wish there was more of. Green onions garnished the rest of the dish. The beef was quite good- it was tender and practically melted in the mouth. It tasted a bit salty though. You could tell the noodles were hand made, which was excellent. They were soft and delicious. The broth, however, was probably my least favourite (though it may just be my personal taste). I could tell the chefs used star of anise in the broth (smells and tastes like black liquorice-which I despise). It seemed very watery and salty. I was expecting more noodle dishes, as well as noodle dishes that weren't all soups. The menu was overpriced and disappointing too. The waiters were friendly, and the ambiance was nice, but I will not be going back to Lambo Noodle Bar unless they seriously change their menu. read more

I have been to Lambo Noodle Bar 3 times and it has been awesome every time. The food is delicious and the service is great. We have had the brisket noodle soup, wonton noodle soup, beef noodle soup (with no beef, just noodles and broth because I'm weird), the chicken nuggets, and the potstickers. I have been very pleased with all of it. So good! I will definitely recommend this place and will be back. Lots of free parking in front and under ground. read more
