The food was authentic, and everything tasted fresh. Service was great and we were greeted with a smile. The guacamole and chips were outstanding. This restaurant is a great choice for brunch or lunch.

They gave me ample lettuce, avocado, onion, cilantro and radish. I got two hot sauces too and they were very spicy. The posole is rich and savory, with very tender pork and hominy. The broth is deep in flavor, but not overly oily. The salad really helps with the richness, and also offers a nice crunchy texture. Posole takes a long time to make, so it is only available at the weekend I believe. Go get some!

Clam chowder was ok but came out warm, prefer hotter in temp. Chips were crunchy and had great seasoning. Ceviche was ok, shrimp didn't seem too fresh and flavor wasn't too citrusy. Shrimp's appearance and texture felt like it was those already cooked frozen shrimp. To add on, we found a piece of hair deep in the ceviche bowl. We placed it on the plate for a better look. Called the server about it who then called the manager. Manager was apologetic and offered us a new order, which we just took To-go. We would have rather chosen to get a refund. Place is nice and offers many seating inside and outside patio. Entrance was kind of confusing, looked like a bar only until we clarified how to order for food.

I definitely was not expecting that when I first ordered the super chicken quesadilla for $14, so it was a very pleasant surprise. Chicken is definitely this place's expertise, and they also have fried chicken on the menu which is uncommon among taquerias. For $8.5, you can get a combo plate with 2 pieces of fried chicken, a sandwich roll, and some sides. This sounds like a good deal that I'd have to come back and try out. As for the environment, the restaurant was more on the casual side. It was pretty small and lack good heating, so it was kind of cold sitting near the back. The tables were also slightly dirty and we had to clean it ourselves.

Being that it was my first time eating at Taqueria La Gallina, I was pleased to see they have a healthy amount of indoor & outdoor seating. You order inside at the counter, pay, then dine-in or take your food to-go. On a Tuesday at lunchtime, only 2 other customers were seated at a booth inside. My baby super burrito was delicious, & just the right size for a lunch appetite. I have a feeling the standard Super burrito must be HUGE! Will definitely be back to try more from the menu, especially since they serve fried chicken - I'm intrigued

My family has been coming to Taqueria Tres Amigos ever since they first opened their doors in 1985…read more I wasn't able to experience it until I was about four years old in 1988, but from that point on, it became part of our Half Moon Bay tradition. Whenever we made a trip to spend the day at the beach, we always stopped here first. It eventually became more than just a place to eat before heading to the coast. Sometimes we'd make the drive all the way from San Jose just because we were craving their Carne Asada Dinner Plate. To me, that's always been a sign of a truly special restaurant. Fast forward all these years later, I'm happy to say Taqueria Tres Amigos is just as delicious as I remembered all of my previous visits. , My husband and I stopped by again this past weekend and we left feeling full and happy. Some restaurants change over time, but Taqueria Tres Amigos has remained remarkably consistent, and that's something I really appreciate. We both ordered the Carne Asada Dinner Plate. The steak was exactly what I was hoping for: tender, well-seasoned, and full of that delicious grilled flavor that has kept us coming back for decades. Every bite reminded me why this has always been my favorite order. I've tried their Tacos and other dishes, but I always end up missing my Carne Asada Plate, but I know we all have our own favorites. This one is just mine! The rice and beans are just as good. The Mexican rice is flavorful and pairs perfectly with the steak, and I've always loved the little touch of shredded cheese sprinkled over the beans. It's a simple detail, but it's one I've looked forward to for years. One thing I also enjoy is their self serve chips and salsa bar. We filled up a basket of fresh tortilla chips and helped ourselves to their salsa before our meal arrived. The salsa has a fresh, homemade taste with just the right balance of tomatoes, onions, cilantro, and lemons. It's one of those things that's hard to stop eating while you're waiting for your food. The portions are generous, and every plate comes with all the classic sides: flavorful rice, beans, fresh shredded lettuce topped with cheese and tomato, creamy guacamole, and sour cream. It's a satisfying meal and I know I've already said this, but Tres Amigos will always leaves us full and happy! After nearly four decades, Taqueria Tres Amigos remains one of my all time favorite Mexican restaurants. My husband and I still visit around 10 to 15 times each year, which says a lot about how consistently good the food has been over the years. Whether you're heading to Half Moon Bay for the beaches, taking a scenic drive down Highway 1, or simply looking for authentic dependable Mexican food, I highly recommend stopping here. Some places come and go, but this one has earned our loyalty for four generations, and I hope it continues serving families like mine for many years to come. Thank you for many years of service!
