Dr. Iranmanesh removed my four wisdom teeth a little over a week ago and the experience has been as…read moregood as I could have hoped for. The extraction itself was very smooth, and I was done in less than 30 minutes. Dr. I's team had me take Valium, they gave me some nitrous, and IV sedation so I remembered nothing. The local anesthetic took about the rest of the day to wear off and they sent me off with a little baggie full of everything i'd need, including teabags to stop the bleeding, a tablet of Zofran, toothbrush, mouth rinse, and a little tooth-shaped container with my wisdom teeth inside, lol. They even wrapped me up with a little ice pack headband which helped a lot. The healing process was extremely smooth. I was given a sheet with info about what to eat and how to take care of the extraction sites. I followed the instructions and had almost no swelling at all. I was able to start eating and drinking soft things and experienced no pain either. I was so relieved as I had been extremely worried about this. After 9 days I returned for the follow-up appointment, they gave me a long syringe with a curved tip for irrigating the sites, and gave me the go-ahead to return to my typical diet and habits. What really stood out to me was how caring and attentive Dr. I and his team were throughout the whole experience. I received a handwritten note in the mail a few days later letting me know that the surgery had been smooth and telling me I'd been a great patient. They had some difficulty finding a good vein for the IV sedation and poked me several times, but they took great care to wrap my arms and hand where they poked me to prevent bruising. The chair for the surgery was heated and they covered me with a blanket during the procedure. Their attention to detail makes a huge difference especially since a lot of people have a lot of fear of dental procedures.

The day of the surgery, the gals in the operating room made me feel comfortable, talking about what I was planning on doing that weekend and joking with me. I was surprised that when you sit in the operating room seat they had warmed blankets on the arm rests which really made me feel ready "for a nice nap". The doctor came in, inserted the drip line, chatted with me a bit and asked if I had any questions and before I knew it I was waking up and the tooth had been extracted. He kept saying "I'm very honest, not trying to be rude..." which I never felt at all - tell people what they need to know, not what they want to hear. I hope I'll be able to use Dr. Han with some of my mouth issues, after spending a little time with him I absolutely trust him.

They were also my general dentist's preferred partner. I've never been afraid of dentists but chipmunk pictures scare me - I was not planning on taking time off work for one wisdom tooth. Dr Hom was professional, informative and fun to work with. He made sure to answer all my questions beforehand, provided alternatives to medications I was not interested in taking, and explained the purpose of every activity that he completed in the course of pre-op, post-op. The procedure itself was 100% painless and my cheek/jaw barely swelled afterwards. Only thing that bothered me were the sound of the tools - the drill rings right by your ear, so I wish I brought ear plugs. Despite being out of network, the bill was reasonable.
