If you're looking for treats that are gluten free, refined sugar free, keto, dairy free (or simply just delicious), this place is absolute magic. The selection is incredible: muffins, cookies, individual cakelets, loaf cakes, macaroons and more -- all made with thoughtful ingredients but without sacrificing flavor for even a second. The macaroons are hands down some of the best I've ever had. The olive oil cake is the kind of thing you think about long after you leave and absolutely cannot pass up. The stuffed cookies? Dangerous in the best possible way -- soft, rich, over-the-top delicious, and guaranteed to steal your heart. As for the muffins... every single one is incredible, but the zucchini muffin, chocolate ganache muffin, carrot muffin, and banana chocolate muffin are standout favorites. Honestly though, you can't go wrong with anything in the case. What makes Off the Wheat so special is that everything feels intentional -- beautiful baked goods made for people who care about ingredients but still want a true bakery experience. It's rare to find treats this indulgent that also fit so many dietary lifestyles. A total must-visit if you're wandering through Union Square Market.

This was delicious. I only wish I had taken a picture, but I gobbled it up so fast I only wish that they were located in Orange County California. It's such a treat to eat baked goods that do not offend my gut.

Tried the Sichuan Chicken Noodle and it was really good. It's listed as a dry noodle but it actually comes with a bit of broth with chili oil and other fragrances, which you can use to mix the noodles into. Really made the dish come together and helped to make sure every bite was flavorful. Without it, the chicken pieces, which looked like separately prepared shredded bits placed on top of the dish, would have been too bland. Would recommend!

However, note that the food is made to order, so it can take quite a bit of time, and there are only standing tables. It can be loud, as it is in the station. If you are in a rush, this might not be for you. The quality of food is dependent on what you order, as the food can be bland without the very delicious chili oil. I ordered the Dan Dan noodles and Xiaolongbao. The Dan Dan Noodle: The minced pork was flavorful, and the noodles were cooked perfectly. However, the broth leaves a lot to be desired, as it was very bland, which makes the noodles equally as bland. Even with the chili oil, it was bland. Xialongbao: The employees are very nice at answering questions. I was able to try both types of buns, chicken, and pork! The filling was delicious. Some may say the buns are thick, but with the chili oil is great!
