Great breakfast omelets! Definitely bring cash with you too. Not the coziest breakfast atmosphere but good food and good service.

TR Club Northern - A healthy, four piece fish dinner with baked potato

Two things to start this rating; #1 - I want to give a 4.5 rating (thanks Yelp) and #2 - Don't…read morejudge this book by its cover. Inside this old, under-renovation building is a gem of a restaurant and bar. While it likely is known for its pizza, it has a wide variety of items on the menu. It also has a full bar. It offers high top seating with banquet style seating in a dining area off the bar. It is decorated with photos of old Hollywood stars. Our group tried a little of everything during our visit. Fish fry, chicken Parmesan sandwich, meatloaf, pizza and a chicken sandwich were ordered by the group. One member of the group said his chicken Parmesan was the best he'd ever had. The meatloaf was huge and extremely flavorful. The pizza was really tasty and the chicken sandwich was...a chicken sandwich. Personally, I had the fish fry (offered on Friday and Saturday nights). It could be prepared three ways. I took the house special corn meal. I received a hearty portion. Like all meals eaten, it came out hot and well prepared. I eat a lot and the four piece meal was not only delicious, but filling. My drinks were nicely priced and mixed nicely by our busy server. She and the cook appeared to be the only staff working during our visit. Overall, we worked past the construction and enjoyed a very good meal at a reasonable price. We will definitely return in the future.

Went here on a Sunday night, and I'm very happy to say it concluded a great vacation to Bayfield (I…read moreknow this isn't in Bayfield). Definitely lived up to the expectations! We made reservations in advance, but I feel like on a Sunday night, it's a little easier to get in than the other days. We had a group of 8ish (2 very little and not eating), and they were happy to seat us outside so the little ones could move around and play. Staff was super friendly and happy to explain the menu with best practices of ordering multiple plates for the table to share. Needless to say, we tried a lot of the menu. Many started out with their seasonal iced tea with chamomile and cedar. People seemed to like it enough. Then came the food, which comes to the table as it's finished in the kitchen. We started with the beets and berries. I have to say, as a person who generally hates beets, this was actually pretty good. I even went back for a second beet piece. We also got the mushrooms Miijim, which was a table favorite. We were saying how they could pretty much be eaten breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The maple was a great addition to a mushroom dish. The stuffed squash was probably the least successful for me, mainly because there was some spice that didn't fully agree with me, but others really enjoyed it. The crisp on the outside of the skin worked well, and it was well balanced. The charcoal pheasant was definitely a dish that could feed a couple of people, as it's half a pheasant. It was very enjoyable with a nice tomato base. We cleaned the bones entirely! The moulard duck breast was by far my favorite dish. It was perfectly tender and almost steak like. I've never had duck prepared this way, and I wish more places would. The sweetness from the berries and squash also played nice with the saltiness of the duck. Finally, we ordered the dessert, which was squash cake with berries. The highlight was finding some grapes in the berry sauce. I'm not talking grocery store grapes, but more wild, off the vine ones that have a distinct more wine like flavor. It was pretty tasty. This is definitely worth a visit for some fine dining if you're in the area. The only thing that I would note is if you have a lot of allergies to pollens you may have some challenges with the menu. Or just take an allergy pill.

This may easily be one of the very best restaurants in WI if not even the #1. Food is incredibly…read morefresh, well thought out and prepared of the highest quality. Clean, unique and most importantly - absolutely delicious. Wholesome ingredients and many elements of what you would think could be overly gamey or wild tasting food - but is instead better than any farm raised high-end beef steak you could find at a different fancy restaurant. Try the entire menu, you won't be disappointed by a single dish!

"Contemporary American" was the vibe, lights were low, lots of wood/black pipe. Staff was exceptionally attentive, including our server (terribly remiss to have forgotten her name, but she was absolutely perfect and we enjoyed sharing some conversation with her as well). Proper Smashburger (8/10). I got mine with the caramelized onions (how can one not?) and it was perfect. Great bun-to-meat ratio, bun was not overly starchy or dry. Lettuce was fresh, onions were bangin, and the garlic aioli tied it all together. Sweet vinegar pickles were a nice touch. Togarashu Fries (8/10). Fresh cut skinny fries topped with a spicy seasoning that sneaks up on you. Served w/ a yuzu miso mayo for dipping that gave it just enough tang and paired well w/ the spicy. Truffle Fries (10/10). Fresh cut skinny fries topped w/ fresh grated and some diced chives. Served w/ a garlic (?) aioli that was top notch. Absolutely fantastic side.

All were friendly and professional. Inside they had numerous tables and a couple of booths. The bar portion also seemed to be a good size. They had a few televisions throughout. They also have a touch tunes music player. The service was fast and accurate! The menu is a la carte. My sister, daughter and I all had burgers and fries while my wife ordered chicken wings. The burgers are made to order. On mine I had added bacon, cheese and an egg. It was delicious. The fries were also good. My sister and my daughter also liked their food. My wife really enjoyed her chicken wings. She told me that they were good and spicy. She also said, "it has been a while since I have had good wings." If you are in Stillwater Minnesota or visiting, I highly recommend stopping here!
