Great place for eyebrow threading. All the girls do a great job but I particularly like Pema. She does a great job and is very gentle w my skin and I don't leave with irritated skin. Although the other girls are good too, they aren't as gentle and my skin is a bit sensitive and leave w somewhat irritated skin after. Overall it's a great threading place! I went in for the first time today. They were welcoming and wanted to know my name, as a new customer (in a non-creepy way). Customers are seen on a walk-in basis. I was taken immediately. All regular services are performed in the main area, like a hair salon, which was a little awkward but no one else seemed to feel that way. Forever I have plucked my own eyebrows with the occasional splurge waxing with a hair cut. The place is clean and Pratima and Chaaya are well mannered women who make you at ease from the moment you step in. This really may be the best threading salon I've ever been to. I've had threading done around the world - in London, India, Washington, D.C., Texas and now Lakeview. Lakeview Threading has gotten my eyebrows perfect every time I've gone in and with minimal pain. It's very clean and it's one of the friendliest businesses I've come across in Chicago. AWESOME! I was looking to get my eyebrows shaped and came to yelp to see what was in my area. I saw this had gotten great ratings so I decided to try it. They did a fantastic job and it is SO cheap! Only $8 to get your brows done. And they shape them beautifully....The process isn't too bad..obviously if you are getting hair ripped out of your skin, it is going to be a little uncomfortable, but nothing you can't handle for a few minutes! Alright so I've been coming here for about three years. I only get my eyebrows done here, no other place does my eyebrows like they do them. I get a ton of compliments whenever I get them done and Pratima is the best one (sorry other ladies but she always gives the extra attention and doesn't let you walk off with them lookin bad). I've gotten them done by every single one of them and Pratima would be the star of the show. The commute from my house to here is like an hour and a half so if that doesn't tell you this place is worth it idk what will. Only thing is it is pretty shabby looking and they make good moola from people so idk why they haven't beautified the place. The ambiance does need to be better it's kinda awkward because the place is so small. Only thing is it is pretty pricy because you feel like you need to tip because of the extra love they give in order to perfect ya brows. A lot of these reviews say they leave your eyebrows thin but idk I don't think so but then again I got thick ass eyebrows (thanks dad). All in all, go in there, ask for Pratima, and make sure you grow out your eyebrows so you give them a lot to work with. I have been having my eyebrows done from Pratima for almost a year now. She does a fantastic job. However I am righting this review in regards to the new services that Lakeview Salon has to offer. They just started offering both hair and nails. The nail tech was fantastic. Her prices are reasonable and she can actually hold a conversation. However, her best characteristic is her customer service. The electric went out in the high rise of the salon, so consequently the fan that was drying my nails no longer worked. She actually took a near by magazine and personally fanned my nails for 10 mins... talk about service! This place is wonderful! I moved to Chicago about 3 years ago and had yet to find a place I trusted and liked. When I moved to Lakeview a few months ago I would walk past Lakeview Salon after work everyday and noticed that they were always busy, so I decided to stop in. I didn't make an appointment and I didn't call ahead (typically this would drive salons crazy), but I took my chances (if it's meant to be they will take me). I walked in on a Saturday morning at 10am to both ladies smiling and asking "How are you?!". Immediately they noticed that I was a new client and explained the threading process. I had never done threading but took their word on it. The owner made sure she took me and fit me in between appointments. She finished one eye brow and let me approve before moving onto the next and they ended up perfect! All in all this place is warm, welcoming and they do a great job.
