Lakeview is good, the chicken is alright, fries are good, and mozzarella sticks are amazing with the marinara sauce. But I gave it a 3 because there are different places that just are better than Lakeview and cannot rank it in the same tier. The Employees are nice and helpful as well. Would recommend to come and try Lakeview Restaurant. read more

Have been dining here for several years, went to dinner with my wife, after almost 45 mins after ordering other tables that were seated and ordered well after we did go there food. Our waitress kept saying it was coming but we left after another table that was seated well after us got their food. The worse part is no one working there seems to be concerned about it. Never going back read more

Everything from start to finish was excellent. We had salmon, flounder, fried and frilled grouper and a pasta dish. Our server Denise, along with the other gals, took really good care of us. Bonus, the area where we sat was nice and quiet and our 97yo mother was able to easily hear the conversation. read more

Awful. Only had one server, one cook, and one runner. They forgot to put in our order. Two hours later, finally got our food. It was fine, but Ben needs to sell this place. Someone could do something with it. read more

I'm giving 2, not 1,because the server (I wish I knew her name) was great. Everything else.....not so much. We sat down at about 7:15-7:30. We left without dinner at 9. Management never even approached us. Very, very, disappointed and won't be back. read more

Good seafood. The menu does not change much. However ask for 'lumpia' ( like an egg roll) as an appetizer - handmade by the chef.

Some people say it's good, my experience was nothing to write home to dad about. Service sucked and everything tasted like a it was cooked in the microwave. They could use a makeover with dining area. read more

Love the fried oysters! Staff is always friendly. Fun hangout you can reach by boat. Attaching pics of the menu for convenience and take-out. read more

Great little restaurant right on the water. Great food, good service and quite the view! Love that you can pull right up in your boat and grab a bite! We started with the fried green tomatoes which were the best I've had in a long time that I didn't make myself lol! We each had a salad with our meal and the selection on the salad bar was great! My only complaint is there was just iceberg lettuce. Next for me was the country fried steak with mashed potatoes. Yummy! Great breading and the steak was tender. Gravy needed salt and pepper though. Not a problem. My husband had fried flounder and shrimp. He loved it. We will definitely be back again! read more

We like the casual ambiance and the fact we can drive up in our boat. The salad bar is always good and stocked well.

I truly wish you would post the days you are open so that we don't go by your Facebook page that shows you are open on Mondays. We had friends come to Monticello to visit and we told them we would take them to Lakeview Restaurant for dinner. Nothing on Yelp says you are closed on Mondays. read more

The food is always good. The salad bar is fantastic! I opt for the grilled salmon or the fried grouper. Always a hit.

Nice, casual place to eat. Food is good and you can come by water and dock your boat by the marina. As good as it gets at the lake.

Doesn't even deserve One Star. Gave me and my mother in law Food poisoning last time we went. Flies everywhere and smells like sewage. Figured we'd give it another chance and sit at the bar this time and the bartender was really rude. I don't understand how you work in customer service and can't be polite to customers. If you hate your job so much don't do it. It's sad to see a lake classic is ruined by bad employees. read more

We have eaten here several times. The fried and grilled catfish are both excellent. The pork chops are as well. Salad bar is old school small restaurant and very good. The breakfast buffet on Sunday is simple but very good. Service is ALWAYS fantastic. read more

We went here by boat. It doesn't look fancy but the food was good. The salad bar is decent. I ordered the fish tacos and they were delicious. Sue was our server and she was very efficient and patient. The only thing I can complain about was the flies outside but that's not their fault. Food was affordable and good. Will return! read more

Great food and excellent service. Ask for Sue. She is super friendly and a great waitress. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting some good home cooked food. Prices can be a bit high, but that's the only draw back n my opinion. read more

Lakeview Restaurant - Country fried steak. Yum yum give me sum - Restaurants Near Me - Monticello, Georgia

No frills. No fuss. Just good food. The salad bar is quaint, but has everything you need. I like the fried catfish fillet. They are HUGE so I can only eat one. The hubby prefers his catfish bone-in. Either way, it is delicious! read more

We had a great time at this restaurant - forget the campers surrounding it and the cinderblock construction, the lakeside dining was delightful (our group's toddler especially liked the boats and ducks). Fine menu choices, salad bar, light hand with the breading for fried items - and reasonable prices. Our server could not have been nicer. Beer/wine available. read more

Went to breakfast. Two servers and three tables. The Sunday breakfast is a buffet. Our glasses went empty and the two servers instead of helping one another argued over who had our table. The customer is important. Keep the buffet full of food and stop arguing over a table. You do want a tip don't you? read more

Just had the worst dining experience I believe I've ever had at Lakeview Restaurant. If you have ANY other options, take it. Do not eat here. Our adventure started when we entered a full, but not overflowing, restaurant. We had a longer than normal wait for our drinks and salad bar plates, but no big deal. At the 1 1/2 hour mark, we decided to ask our waitress where our food was, as my 9 year old had lost what little patience he had. She said she'd find out. Nearly 10 minutes had passed and we were to the point of paying for our drinks and salads and hitting the road, when the waitress returned. She said the cook said "please don't leave. Your steaks are done, and the rest of your order is #3 in line. Your meals will be discounted." So, our steaks are sitting under a heat lamp while the rest of our order is still third in line. Meanwhile, we've watched other tables empty out, new customers seated and fed...and we're still waiting for 2 steaks, 2 orders of popcorn shrimp, and a plate of whole catfish. Other diners are also grumbling about the long wait. Hindsight says we should've left, but we stayed. It wasn't long afterwards that our food arrived. As expected, the steaks were tough from waiting under the heat lamp, but we didn't complain. When our waitress brought our tickets, it was indeed discounted...a whopping 10%. Whatever. We called the waitress over to the table, to once again tell her that we weren't mad at her, but not happy with the experience. Instead, another lady came over. We assumed she was the manager, but were told the manager had already gone home. This lady was a waitress, but was the niece of the owners, Ben & Marie. She asked what we wanted. We just wanted to express our feelings about a bad experience...thinking perhaps they could improve for future customers. She said they only had 2 cooks (on a Saturday night...) and they were doing the best they could. She then went on to brag that people Friday night had waited 3 1/2 hours. Not sure why that's a good thing, especially considering the frozen popcorn shrimp and tough steak, but more power to them. She also said our waitress was in the back crying. ??? We were never rude to the waitress, but seeing as how you can't walk into the kitchen to complain to the cooks, she was the one who heard our complaints about the wait, etc.. Anyhow, we gave our cards to the lady with our tickets to pay our tabs. A few minutes later, we see a black haired lady (who we hadn't seen until now) heading our way with our receipts. My friend Clint held his hand out to receive them, and was saying "thank you", when the black haired lady THREW them on our table and walked away without a word. I was dumbstruck. Never have I experienced such an attitude. Meanwhile, Black Hair walks over to another table and is pointing at us and carrying on TO OTHER CUSTOMERS about us. That customer turned to me and said "I think you need to go somewhere else". We left. I guess if you're a local, maybe you're treated better. This was the absolute worst experience I've ever had anywhere in a restaurant. And honestly, until our receipts were thrown on the table and other patrons were told about us, it didn't stand out from the rest. Still shocked at the rudeness. read more

They now serve breakfast on Sunday mornings and its great!! Great biscuits, grits, gravy, REAL eggs, skillet potatoes, french toast, crunchy bacon and sausage. I think we will now be going every Sunday morning..since its right down the street!! Lunch and dinner are great also..Catfish and Salad Bar cant be beat locally. read more

Good basic no frill food nice to look over the lake you can get there by boat or car

Watit staff was great, the food on the other hand was cold and disgusting and extremely overprice for a kids menu

Really wanted to like this place, we were greeted by very a friendly hostess who guided us to a booth with a very nice view of the lake, the restaurant appears to have been renovated recently and has a wonderful atmosphere. Our waitress was equally friendly and cheerfully took our order for one of the offered specials of the day, NY Strips. This was the end of our enjoyable experience, we preceded to the offered "salad bar" which consisted of "bag salad" mix and the usual less than exciting additions. Turns out, this was the highlight of our meal. The baked potato presented was practically inedible, it was hard with a texture I can't really describe and the steak, although seasoned well, was far from tender. This was our first visit and although our food experience was less than awesome we will probably give them another try just because they were just so damn nice, will just avoid the steaks and the baked potato's!!! read more
