We always coming from Marietta down to Jackson me and my dad stopped at this place, called Jimmy steaks and seafood and the food there is amazing. I had catfish it was really good and the girl that served us was very nice to us and the customer courtesy was good. The customer service is good. Had coleslaw on okra and my dad had scallops, and if you're ever down to Jackson, make sure you stop at Jimmy steaks and see if they have really good food, if you want to stop there for lunch or dinner with your family grow up Monday through Friday. read more

Definitely a local favorite. 20 to 30 min wait and the lady asked for my name three times, despite the fact we were waiting right in front of her and didn't move. The dinning area reminded me of a church basement, very plain / generic. I thought with all the people waiting the food would be the reason it was packed. Nope basic sides, when I say basic I mean they were not very well seasoned just kinda blah. The steak was cooked as I asked - medium rare. Which shows some talent cause that was a very thin steak. My 1st visit here was AWESOME! Our server was Annabelle. She was SO SWEET, attentive, funny, kind, and efficient. As a first timer, I had several questions and she was patient and answered every one of them. The food was delicious, served nice and hot - and quick! - and everything was seasoned well. We met 2 other couples for dinner last night, service was exceptional, food was excellent, atmosphere was down home cozy, we love coming here. I love the way they prepare the salad...EXACTLY what you want or don't want in the salad...what a concept!! The meal the wife and I both ordered, earlier this month (June 2025) was 5/5 as usual. We were quickly seated in under 5 mins, quickly attended to by a great waitress, and had Ice Teas in front of us in no time. Our Hot Meal was in front of us in under 15 mins of us walking in the door. Our young waitress checked on us several times, and not just before handing us the check. *---unlike too food places, waitstaff now do. We felt taken care of, not just waited on. My husband and I went there for the first time this Saturday. Around 3:30, First impression, the hostess was a little rude. Her tone of voice was not very welcoming. We had the sirloin steak, I had it with a salad. I was very impressed with the salad. The steak was good too, no complaints. However not a complaint, but feedback. To update the plates, the white plastic plates for steak were not it and they were dingy. That was a little gross to have white dingy plastic plates. A hidden gem in Jackson for people not from Jackson! All the locals know that this place has some of the absolute best food around. Service is quick which is excellent for how busy this place can really get. Lots of chatter from nearby tables because this place is super family oriented. The fried green tomatoes, fried mushrooms, grilled chicken, salad, and loaded baked potatoes are a go to! We try to come at least once a week because that's just how good it is! read more

First visit and I can see why it's the local favorite. First, let me tell you that the side salad is not offered as a side, but is $5. It's worth every penny loaded. It's a meal in itself. The hamburger steak is good, the shrimp alfredo is good. The fried broccoli is very tasty!! We saw what other tables ordered and it all looked great. My wife and I eat here often, and the service is always friendly. It is family owned and operated, and they do it well. Most evenings, the place is full, yet they take your order timely, and the food arrives hot and fresh. Stopped here on a whim, and we will be back as soon as we can! Fabulous attentive service. Food is clearly fresh, not frozen, made in house. Not short staffed. Clean. Friendly. Portions are generous. Food was perfection. We had the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer, which were made in house with perfect breading. I had the prime rib and seafood and chose the crab cake, which was melt in your mouth perfect. I also had a side of fried mushrooms and fries, also delicious. My husband had the fried catfish filets, cole slaw, and fries. He kept saying it was off the chain, and he couldn't wait to come back. If you're in Jackson, you can't do any better. read more

I went here a few years ago. The food was alright and the service was good. But it was eerily quiet. To the point it was hard to have a conversation with my family without feeling awkward like I was in a library. It may have changed I don't know. The restaurant had things going for it. Some people may like that type of environment. I didn't quieter is one thing. The day I went several tables were totally silent. Plus no music. Which definitely would help. read more

If you want a great meal, go to Jimmie's. Very unassuming location in a strip mall off the square of Jackson. Everything is delicious, hot and served quickly. Friday and Saturday may have you waiting a few minutes for a table, but trust me it is well worth the wait and you will leave full and happy. read more

Had to give it a shot based on Name - LOL - Hostess had about as much southern charm as an alligator snapping turtle coming and going, just plain snappy on way in and completely ignored us on way out. Waitress was very nice and friendly which kept us there, my wife had a steak (leaned toward tough) with salad bar (one trip) which was considered a side. The bowl provided would have been better used for ice cream at a weight loss camp, in other words small. The baked potatoe was decent with melted butter, and packaged sour cream??? (tacky). I had the Seafood Alfredo which was pretty good, the scallops were a decent amount for the price. Overall could have skipped this place and ate at Taco Bell and saved about $30. read more

Dinner with the hubs. Had about a 30 minute wait (Friday night so not to bad). They were fully STAFFED! Which is unusual these days. Our waitress Sara was excellent. She checked on us all throughout our visit. Food: they have an excellent salad! Probably the best part of my meal. It has lots of veggies. Husband had the prime rib and he said it was just average. My filet came in two pieces. One was cooked as ordered but the second was raw .. not edible (at least by me). We will be back. read more
