    Salmon teriyaki
    Chris C.

Went in for dinner and was very surprised. The service was great. New staff and did a great job of making sure I was taken care of. I had sushi to start which was excellent. The teriyaki salmon sat on cooked onions and broccoli. A bowl of steamed rice on the side. The clear soup was very refreshing. The salmon was cooked just enough, there was lots of food and very good.

Well the first thing you wanna know is if I'd eat here again and the answer is a resounding YES. For such a small town Saki's dinners are awesome! Honey had sushi and me being not such a fan of seaweed or raw fish had my usual steak yummy iiuuyggyyyyyyhabachi. Fried rice of course w no mushrooms or broccoli and it was really yummy! Steak cooked perfectly and they added extra zucchini and carrots just like I asked for. Service was good and dinner came out quickly. I almost forgot but you have to try the gouza. Crispy just like I like them! Overall on the yum scale I will give them an eight and a half.....pushing nine!

I've passed this place several times as I travel through Jackson and have wanted to try it every since. The restaurant is generally clean and spacious, the bar is the central figure of the room and it is adequately stocked with libations for most patrons. The draft beer selection is limited, but that's to be expected in a small-town Hibachi. The service was attentive, and the waitresses worked quickly. The salad and soup were tasty, and well prepared. The Spicy Salmon Roll was ascetically pleasing and well constructed with ample fish, but its taste was rather bland; the salmon was drowned out by the spicy sauce & crunchy seasoning. The Hibachi chicken, and Hibachi Steak & Shrimp came decently prepared, hot, and smothered in teriyaki sauce. The stir-fry veggies were too heavy with broccoli, only littered with some carrots and onions. The chicken and shrimp were somewhat rubbery & stringy. On the whole, if you've got a sushi craving and can't drive the extra 10 minutes to Locust Grove, then give it a shot. Otherwise, I'd pass.

Inside the bar is in the middle of restaurant

I love the location because it's on an old small town street with old town buildings. There is plenty of parking right beside this restaurant. When you walk in there is a hostess stand that you wait to be seated at. It's mostly booths around the sides and a nice sized bar in the middle. They have beer on tap. Their Diet Coke was perfect. I had the soup and salad and Angel roll and I loved every bit of it. We had the two spring rolls appetizer and it was really good. My husband had the chicken and steak hibachi dinner and he was very pleased with it. I tried some and it was definitely good. The fried rice looked plain but the texture was right. The servers were very eager to make sure you have everything you need and want which made me happy to leave a good tip. We will be back.

Nifty bar area! Hand blown blue lights over bar, beautiful. Picture doesn't do it justice!

The delivery was fast and smooth and the hot foods stayed hot and the sushi stayed fresh. While in Covington I had to order their Covington roll and even though I like my sushi sashimi style I really enjoyed it. The fish was fresh and the whole roll just melted in my mouth with every bite. The rainbow roll and California roll were good too! We ordered a large bowl of steak and noodles and it was a good portion. You get plenty of noodles and steak and the steak was cooked perfectly and was very tender and flavorful. The pork gyozas were also delicious. The pork was flavorful and it was perfectly fried. The crab rangoon was amazing! I've never had a crab random so creamy and oozing with filling. It was definitely a favorite and a must order every time! We really enjoyed everything we ordered and when we visit Covington again we will definitely stop by to try more of their menu items.

A restaurant can get away with being a dive if the food is great. I wasn't impressed however. I'm not a big fan of seaweed on the outside even when it's done well. This wasn't. While I absolutely love pickled ginger, I didn't even eat all of this. It was watery which led me to question its freshness. On the plus side the tuna rolls didn't make me sick so there's that. I also got teriyaki chicken. Chicken and veggies were ok but the fried rice was not very good.

Hello, ran it back today. My bestfriend thought they closed at 10 but when I looked online while we…read morewere headed there it said 9. So we called them around 8:15 to see if they were still seating people or when do they stop seating people and let them know we done the street. The lady on the phone said it's fine come on in. So we seated of course things were rushed which is understandable because people are ready to go home but it's like if we're not going to get decent service just say hey we want you guys to get the best service catch us again tomorrow cause this experience really is the exact opposite from first experience which I will still keep and add below this review. The drinks were out and flat. The menu says gratuity of 18% on groups 6+ but we were still charged that gratuity. We did hibachi sit down and didn't want any sides like the soup or salad so we could get straight to it since it's late but got extra charges for fried rice. I thought it would actually be included since it's hibachi. Then we realize everytime we come the prices or fees change but we always get the same thing. And the food was nasty. So we just boxed it up and headed out so we can go box home and throw it back on the stove or something, I don't know. I really just feel like this experience was due to it being late and everyone ready to go home. I've never had a bad experience here until today. My food and service is usually outstanding so the only advice I have is to never go too late or close to closing time outside of that service is usually great but not today tho. Previous review: Great food with quick and amazing customer service. I'm new to the area and this is my go to spot now. As soon as you walk in your greeted and seated right then and there. Love it here 10/10 highly recommend.

We took my daughter in for a birthday's eve hibachi experience. While the rest of us ate the…read morehibachi meal, my youngest still had chicken nuggets. The nuggets are different than they were in my first review; they are regular nuggets now (I'll upload a new picture). The hibachi food was very tasty. I thought the fried rice and the salmon were both particularly good. However, the show went much quicker than a normal hibachi show does. It seemed to cut some corners. For example, when the chef did the bit where he tossed food at guests to attempt to catch in their mouths, it was just plain white rice and one toss per interested person. Overall, I found the shorter show a little disappointing, especially given that they charge a mandatory 18% gratuity for the hibachi experience. Final critique of the hibachi experience: I want both chicken and salmon, however, that is not a combination that they offer. I could have chicken or salmon, but not both. Eventually, the person who took our order (a different person than our waitress) came back to let me know that I could have both chicken and salmon if I paid the steak and salmon price. Steak and salmon is a combination they offer. This seemed reasonable to me as that price was not far off from having either the chicken or salmon individually. We were there on Sunday and surprised to see there were multiple specials happening. One is that every Sunday is supposed to be "Kids Day" (uploading pic of the flyer) but this was never mentioned and our young children were offered nothing. I inquired about it on the way out and was told that we could have asked our waitress to bring the special items for the children. Why would this not just be something they do? The second special was specific to the month of September. This month, everyone can request a 30% rebate on their meal to be used at some other point this month. In order to get the rebate, you must stop back at the hostess stand after paying for your meal to get a rebate coupon in the amount of 30% of whatever you paid before gratuity. That coupon is like a gift card that you can use on a future meal, but only on the price of the meal, not gratuity. Because the hostess was busy when I was waiting for my rebate, the man at the bar offered to do it for me. This is where I inquired about Kids Day and was told that my waitress could've done it. We happened to be sharing our hibachi table with another family celebrating a birthday. Both of us bought the $10 birthday package. So, after our hibachi show, one of the restaurant's robots brought over two desserts and two birthday crowns with the robot's screen reading happy birthday. Soon after the robot arrived, three staff members came over with instruments and sang happy birthday to the girls. The birthday package includes a cheesecake slice for dessert and a $10 gift card to be used on a future visit. So, we left the restaurant with two future visit coupons. The women's bathroom was clean and well-stocked. *review edited to clean up my typos only*

I don't know how to describe the inside of it, it's like they're port holes everywhere like the place used to be a seafood restaurant, but then there are oddly painted walls and they played alternative music. Honestly, I'm not sure I would've put all these random things together, but the sushi was fantastic and very reasonably priced. I would come here again. I should also mention that I am celiac and called before I went in and they seemed fairly knowledgeable about what was gluten-free and what was not. They also had gluten-free soy sauce for me. So I give the place kudos for respecting that.

It is right off the freeway and parking is easy in the shared lot. It wasn't that crowded on a Friday night and we were seated immediately at a corner booth. There was lots of good things on the menu, but no mention of an all you can eat option. We ordered the filet mignon carpaccio, which came out thicker than expected and not as rare as expected but still great! I didn't know how the mango would work with the dish, but it was a nice touch. We also got the tuna tartare, which was mostly avocado and chunkier than expected. I would skip this dish. For my entree, I had the Tiger roll. It was a generous portion and loaded with fish. It tasted pretty fresh and the combo on flavors worked for me. It was about when I was done with my roll, when I overheard that there was an all-you-can-eat option. It was about the same as we had spent and I wish I had known about it beforehand. It was not advertised and our server did not mention it. Maybe they are trying to keep it on the DL.
