Extremely over priced even when everything is working they find something broken according to them .Do not hire this company

We have been Lakeside customers since 2020, when we hired them to install in-ground sprinklers at our last home. We just had them come to our new house to check out the sprinkler system we "inherited." Evan was fantastic. He analyzed the number of heads/direction of jets with a gardener's eye and heart. Very pleased he was able to fix/add to existing system so it's right. Bonus points that he was able to identify a mystery tree for me, thanks to his former experience in the nursery business. We have a tulip tree! And now it will be watered reliably. So glad we have this resource! read more

Horrible customer service. When Lakeside came out to our property to turn off the water valves for the winter season, they failed to turn them off Properly leading to the Valves bursting! Then when it came time to turn the water back on in the following season, they wanted to charge us for a new valve and they were the reason the valve was broken in the first place. The manager was very rude and offered no sort of accountability or accommodation what so ever. We will no longer use this company. read more

We're a HOA located in Macomb Township and are being serviced by this company for sprinkler maintenance & work . Recently they installed a new sprinkler line for an area previously not covered . They preformed the work & during that period of time the water wasn't on . later in the spring they installed a new sprinkler programmer and failed to install it properly , in fact they caused damage to an GFI that they decided to tap into for power & in Installing the New program box failed to secure the low voltage conduit into the new box thus exposing the wires . All of this & the fact the valve box leaked & destroyed 7 yews by water leaking from the valve box causing flooding in surrounding areas . They sent another inspector out & stated they found nothing wrong , However found the leak and a 5 ft 1" length of poly that was split . charging us for their incompetence of installation. Suggest finding someone else to do your work. Rating them at 1 star as lower rating wasn't offered . read more

We had used Lakeside Lighting and Irrigation for a few years. They were always expensive and every spring everything had to be 'fixed'. This year they said the sprinklers were damaged and it would be over 900 dollars to fix. Then they sent a guy over and he said he changed his mind and it would be over 1500 dollars. I looked around and there was 'suspicious' damage in areas where there is no lawn mowing or any other traffic going on (similar suspicion as the other reviewers). Everything was working when Lakeside winterized the system last fall. By the way, adjusting a sprinkler head is very easy if you spend five minutes on youtube. I fixed all that myself for less than 100 dollars by going to home depot. Then they sent me a bill for 85 dollars again! Needless to say I have a new sprinkler guy now. Also some of those five star reviews look fake to me. read more

Lakeside is SO organized and efficient. Not only do they send appointment reminders, they even send a message as to the technician's estimated time of arrival! Mike B and his associate Gabrielle worked SO well together, they handled our irrigation mid season check up in a short time, complimented me on the condition of our lawn, and made a recommendation. Update...after posting my previous review, I heard from the company's new "communications director" who scheduled an appointment for some technicians to come out and assess our situation. The guys were nice, worked on the lights for a while. Turns out the yellow lights I complained about were white lights with a yellow coating on the bulb, creating a yellow cast. They said they had to order new bulbs...that was one month ago. They also said that they reset the lights and made certain that the circuit was completed so that we would have lights until the new bulbs came in. Well...now we have NO lights. Umm...still not happy with this company. read more

Do not use this contractor! I agree with other ratings with 1 star. They tell you that you get billed by the hour at $85.00 per hour, but what they don't tell you is that it's a minimum of $85.00 for them just to show up even if they fix the issue in much less than 1 hour. So if it takes them 10 minutes to fix, rather than billing $8.50 or some reasonable minimum charge, they bill you for $85.00. When they were Capital Irrigation, they were honest. Now Buyer Beware! Not good. Don't trust the good reviews, they are likely "inside" ratings. read more

Just had my sprinklers turned on by Michael B. He actually remembered me from last year! He is so polite and knowledgeable about what he is doing. He also looks for ways to be conservative with the pricing, which as a customer, I really appreciate. Thank you for great customer service, Michael. I'll see you in the fall. read more

To turn on the sprinkler system for half an acre property only one person came and who had no clue as to our previous history of broken system. We asked him to stop the work as we didn't need his services. He said he would come back with a second person and this visit would not be charged. They charged us and would not stop sending the bill. I spoke on the phone and explained but the bill keeps on coming and the gentleman who cane to us reported work was completed. read more

Mike B serviced our sprinklers. He uncovered a sprinkler head buried under a stone from a landscape job. Mike to the rescue...water was running...under the stone. He also got the whole yard sprinklers working well and efficiently. I highly recommend Lakeside and Mike B. read more

Worst. Worst. Worst. Their customer service is absolutely horrible! May 18-morning appt, no show, no call. Tech finally at house at 7 pm and does half of sprinkler setup because obviously I'm gone by now. Back on May 22 to finish sprinklers then spigots do not work. Called May 25 got May 27 afternoon appointment to fix spigots and install new timer. Again no show, no call. Called on Friday May 28 Linda was to talk to service manager and promised get back to me by end of day. And of course, no call. Called AGAIN on Tuesday June 1. Same response as Friday. And AGAIN no call. I will need to call a different company to fix my spigots from what they did or did not do. I am sure hoping they don't intend on sending my a bill. They tell labor cost is $85.00 an hour . Then they will send out 4 men to do what one man could do in an hour. So each man spent 15 minutes working and then they charge you labor cost of $85.00 for each person they send out. When I tried to talk to them about the labor cost all they could say is we charge $85.00 per man sent out. So they can send 10 men to your house and charge you $850.00. Unbelievable. Came to repair some broken sprinkler heads. We were told a "wire" needed to be replaced. $800 later, we also needed "a new clock" which was working FINE before they came to repair it!!! I feel violated! Disgusted. read more

Careful, they came out to look at my striker system. They told me it would be $700+ to fix. I then said no thanks they then sent me a bill for $45 to quote job. read more

Prompt and very nice. My yard looks wonderful because of the great irrigation system I had installed!

Excellent staff. Great sprinkler installation and clean-up was beyond expectation.
