Shokofeh is the absolute best dentist!! She is focused on preventative care, which I love, and scheduling is easy and flexible. She recently fixed some white staining on my teeth that has been bugging me for years; it's clear she's on the cutting edge with the latest innovations in dental care. Her staff is super friendly and her hygenists do an excellent job. I've had less than stellar experiences at previous dentists, so I am not willing to see anyone else! Even though we moved to the Eastside, driving into Seattle is worth it to see Shokofeh! It's easy to find parking in the garage beneath her office and her space is always clean and spotless. I literally can not say enough wonderful things about Lakeside Dental and Dr. Tabaraie. All of her staff is incredible, but a special call out to the office manager, Mavelin who is so friendly, funny and easy to work with. That's saying a lot when you're talking about medical billing! When I first started seeing Dr. Tabaraie roughly 10 years ago I was terrified of dentists and required a lot of hand-holding, understanding, and nitrous oxide. Not only does she do incredible work (I've never had any issue with any of the fillings or crowns I've needed), but she was patient with a dash of tough love (sometimes you just need to get your ass in the chair). Now all these years later I feel so comfortable going to the dentist and even though I moved across the country she's still my dentist and I see her whenever I'm in town to visit my family. 5 stars just isn't a high enough rating. read more

My family has a long, storied history of terrible teeth, and so I have been to many, many dentists over the years. I have had nice dentists that don't do a great job, I've had mean dentists, and I've had lots of just okay dentists. But Dr. Tabaraie is the best of all worlds. With procedures, she is both super skilled and super quick--without being *too* rushed. She is whip-smart, funny, and sassy (and if that's not your thing in a dentist, then that's your loss.) When I originally went to see Dr. Tabaraie, she helped me work through the aftermath of a complicated root canal with great patience, and she really helped relieve my stress in a low-key way that was greatly appreciated. The office is great, the view is nice, and Mavelin, her office manager is so kind and easy to work with. I don't think I've ever had a real anxious moment at this office, and there's something about the dentist that is always at least a little anxious. Plus there's easy parking. Lakeside Dental has taken care of my family for years but I am finally compelled to write a review for them after a recent experience. Due to a fracture in my tooth, I had to be referred to a specialist, but unfortunately that turned into needing to get the tooth extracted. Unfortunately, that meant referring me to another doctor to pull the tooth. Now that is not good no matter how you look at it, but the worst part was trying to get it scheduled quickly enough, all while the pain was becoming very difficult to deal with. I hit up Lakeside Dental to see if there was anything they could do for me. They came through for me BIG TIME! They got me to another doctor that was able to get me in immediately, and for no extra fees. Even though there was not any direct financial benefit to them going that extra mile, they went above and beyond the call of duty to take care of me. Also worth noting, my wife used to have extreme anxiety about going to the dentist due to an emotionally scaring incident in her youth. At Lakeside Dental, she not only encountered highly empathetic and sensitive care, but also such friendly support that she has completely gotten over her anxiety about seeing the dentist. I think I have only written one yelp review besides this, but since I came here based on great reviews, I felt compelled to add my review. Everyone in the office was great. Friendly, talkative, helpful. This was my first visit to a dentist since moving away from my hometown and my dentist of 9 years. At the end of my cleaning, I was told I would need 6 fillings (I believe that was the number. This was 2 years ago). 5 or so to replace existing fillings, one to fill a small gap in my teeth (their reasoning- the gap will catch food and cause a cavity. If this were the case, I would need a filling. So why would I get a filling NOW, only to prevent possibly needing one in the future??) I was quoted around $400-500 for these services after my insurance maxed out. (Memory is foggy once again!) After this visit, I called my previous dentist. I was told this was a pretty aggressive approach. She looked at my last X-rays and visit notes (6mo. prior) and said that she couldn't believe that in that time, ALL these old fillings would have broken down. I cancelled my appointment and have been nervous to return to a dentist again. I finally went to a dentist today - 2 years after being told I needed this unnecessary work. I waited so long because I was nervous I would find another dentist who insisted on this work that my trusted dentist from home said was not needed. After my cleaning, I was told "looks pretty good. A few older fillings that we will have to watch for break down. So far they look alright." Thank god for finding an honest dentist this time around! Being told this today definitely sparked my urge to write this review. It angers me that the cost of their lies is so high to me- $400-500, time spent in the office, unnecessary pain, and weakening of my teeth with unneeded drilling. What a disgusting scam. read more

I visited Lakeside Dental Center through those good reviews. However, probably the worst experience I have ever had with this dentist. I had some fillings done here. - The doctor's explanations were not clear. - Their anesthesia skill wasn't good. SO painful (I don't have a dental phobia). - After the treatment, I couldn't open my mouth properly for a month. Now I have TMJ. Plus, I keep biting the inside of my cheek. Now I have to find another dentist to fix my TMJ. I won't go back to this dentist again. read more

I saw Dr. Tabarie after a 2 year hiatus from the dentist while I didn't have dental insurance. Preparing for the worst, I was very pleasantly surprised when she went over my intake form (very thoroughly) and talked about my previous dental work. My appt. was at 7AM which is great if you don't want to miss work (not so great if you are not a morning person, which I am not) and everyone was super nice (and awake). I had a LOT of digital x-rays taken and they even took digital pics of the inside of my mouth along with a "head shot" for my file. Dr. Tabarie was super nice and accommodating as well as conversational. I never felt rushed and when I need to change things up (warm water not cold) she and her hygenist were more than willing. After going over all my info and before the cleaning, we discussed what needed to be done and how to proceed with my care plan. I love organized people with a plan so this was right up my alley. Dr. Tabarie also isn't into a lot of meds and whatnot so it was great that she knew of a good message therapist for my migraines (resulting from teeth grinding/stress). The receptionist/admin was also great as she called my insurance company to make sure she entered in all the coverages correctly and could print me out a fancy estimate for the work I will need done. No one was pushy and understood that even with insurance, dental work is not 100% paid for and a lot could come out-of-pocket. After I set my follow-up appts I was even able to apply the Lakeside Dental Center coupon for $50 off $300 worth of work for my next appt. (BTW, if you live the Greenlake/Greenwood area those coupons come about once a month in the ValuePak coupon thingy). Dr. Tabarie even has a referral program which is fantastic :) The office is modern, has TV's to distract you, as well as great views of Greenlake park and an awesome staff! read more

I hadn't been to the dentist in quite awhile (lots of moving and scheduling difficulty) and they never made me feel self-conscious about the state of my mouth. They are always friendly and nice, but just needed to feel more confident in the thoroughness of my dental health care. I don't feel the exams are thorough enough compared to previous dentists. .. teeth are checked but not much checking of general mouth/oral/throat health. At one point, I had a tooth possibly in need of a root canal but Dr. T did not perform the standard heat/cold tests, just tapping, something that had been performed for testing on previous potential root canal. Then sent me to an endodontist who was surprised with my answer to the question of whether these basic tests had been performed. The office person/people, while amazingly welcoming and friendly, are inconsistent with making reminder calls for appts. I've cancelled appts a month in advance then DO get a reminder call. But other times do not receive reminder calls AT ALL. Unlike some of the other reviewers, i have never felt any unnecessary work was suggested. She has always taken a conservative watch/wait approach, unless I wanted to move forward. I've changed dentists after a number of years... read more

My wife and I moved away from Seattle in 2011. After coming back in 2016 and having poor experiences with dentists outside of Seattle, we sought Dr. Tabaraie out again. When we came back she remembered us RIGHT AWAY! She even remembered our TEETH. I just got done with another amazing cleaning and was greeted right away by Dr. Tabaraie herself when I walked in for my appointment. Dr. Tabaraie has had the same staff for over 10 years and obviously treats her employees well while and is truly the BEST DENTIST I have ever had. She's GREAT at what she does and seems to genuinely enjoy being the nerdy perfectionist dentist. She keeps up with the dentistry profession and is even knowledgeable how autoimmune issues can cause inflammation in your gums. Whenever I have had to get a filling she is always gentle with administering the numbing meds and I've never experienced any pain from her work. I don't feel stressed when I see her because I know I will get quality care. She will be my dentist until she retires. read more

I figured I should write a yelp review, when after 5 appointments, I couldn't stop recommending Dr. Tabaraie at Lakeside Dental to coworkers and friends. I had been procrastinating going to the dentist for over 6 years (mainly to avoid the guilt trips my old dentist would give me about not flossing enough), and called into Lakeside dental when having shooting pain on one side of my mouth. Dr. Tabaraie fit me in for a consultation, and forever changed my outlook on dentists. The practice is very modern and clean. Each window overlooks Greenlake which provides immediate relaxation for the sitting. There is never undue waiting, and the staff act with expertise and efficiency, valuing your business and your time. The doctor performs all procedures herself, and keeps up to date on the latest dental technology. She takes time to answer any questions, and never forces any treatment, but provides her best advice to consider. Instead of finding another dentist to scold me, I have found a practice where the staff is thoughtful, knowledgeable, educational, and encouraging. I am one of the pickiest people I know. I search for the best and I don't settle for anything less. Lakeside Dental and Dr. Tabarie are the best out there. No wham, bam, thank you ma'am, out the door with you. She is not trying to scam you and is not in this business just for the money. She truly cares for each of her patients. Which is so easily seen in her conversation with you and her open attitude. She doesn't shrug you off and she sees each patient individually at some point during the visit. She remembers past conversations with you even though visits may be 6 months or more apart. We're even friends on facebook. I ask you, what doctor friends you on facebook? The answer? One who cares, that's who. For those who gave bad reviews I'd say you have no sense of value. read more

Everyone hates the dentist - it's literally pulling teeth. But I've referred 5 people to Lakeside Dental and they've all thanked me for doing it. Dr. Tabarie is sweet, funny and most of all trustworthy. I've been going to her for 3 years and when she says I need a filling or a procedure - I know she's doing it in the best interest of my health and smile. Her bright and modern office overlooks Green Lake and there is free garage parking so you can save time getting there. Despite her warnings about sugar, there are a couple of shops and cafe's nearby to get a pastry or ice cream before your appointment. The staff from reception to hygienists are kind, accommodating and always explain what they are doing and why. If you want a quick dentist to just get in and out and tell you your teeth are fine, I suggest you go elsewhere. Lakeside Dental is for people who want first rate care and professional treatment. I will be going to this practice for the foreseeable future and and it's where my kids will go. No, I still don't enjoy going to the dentist, but when I leave the experience feels less "clinical" and more "personal." read more

I have had 3 visits in 2 months because of needed work. Felt totally covid-safe, due to the spacing and PPEs they have. This is a new dentist for me, and the whole team is very considerate, and the work was great. Very thorough check on what the cost would be too. I want to preface this by saying that I have never left a bad review for a business before. However, in this instance I felt I absolutely must to protect others from experiencing what I did. I went to Lakeside dental center for a year and was very pleased with the care. The dentist is excellent. However, I must say that the front desk employee Mavelin is completely untrustworthy. I was encouraged to buy a Sonicare by the dentist and was told I would get a discount if I ordered through them. I asked to do so at the front desk. The front desk told me the order wasn't going through because there was something wrong with their internet but that they would keep trying to place it. Mavelin said she would call me if she was able to get it to go through. I never received any phone call, but to my surprise I received not one but four $170 sonicares in the mail. I called the dentist and they told me to bring the extra 3 into the office, and they would return the sonicares to their supplier. I was told their supplier would refund me. However, I only received a refund for 1 Sonicare when I returned 3 of them. The front desk insisted they were working on it, but finally they told me to call their supplier myself. I did so and their supplier said that they had only received one box and in their records didn't have any proof that more than one Sonicare had been returned. I then communicated this back to the front desk. Mavelin insisted they would resolve it. Mavelin then contacted me to tell me that Philip's (their supplier) was going to refund me but that the process was just long. They told me I needed to wait. I waited and waited for 2 months... still no refund. I called the front desk again and left a message regarding the fact that I STILL had not received a refund and asked that they call me back. No reply. It was very odd considering Mavelin had been cordial in her texts. You can see the photos of texts in my Google review and I fully trusted that I just needed to be patient. But when I followed up my phone message later with a text to Mavelin about terminating my care and why, I also did not receive a reply. Even if they couldn't refund me for their mistake I wish they would have at least given me the decency of replying to my phone message or my text. Finally after 6 months of waiting and asking I gave up. I had to face the fact that Mavelin was not going to take responsibility for her mistake. I have text messages and of course my bank statements to back all of this up, but in the end I didn't have the time or energy to file a lawsuit, though I definitely considered it. I realize that $340 might not be a huge amount of money for some people to lose, but as a research scientist just graduated from college it was a lot of money... but more than that, it really hurt that I had been treated in this way. I may be naiive, but nothing like this has ever happened to me before. It made me really sad that other people might experience something similar. I want to say that the dentist and hygienists are wonderful. But do not ever purchase anything through the front desk: unless you're okay with the risk. read more

I've been to Dr. Tabaraie a handful of times in the last few years and highly recommend her! I had 7 cavities to be filled at once and extremely sensitive gums, and they filled them with utmost sensitivity, skill, and care! Everyone at Lakeside Dental is friendly and a pleasure to work with. They feel more like a neighborhood clinic that genuinely cares about how you're doing vs. feeling like you're just a random patient. I went to Dr. Shokofeh Tabaraie last weel for my annual exam which I had not done in two years. She took lots of digital x-rays and found that I had LOTS of cavities which she showed me. One was very concerning so she fit me in before a trip I was taking. Her staff are SUPER nice. I had to bring my baby with me and the receptionist watched her the whole time. They give you goodie bags and have a promotion for a free teeth whitening kit with your first appointment. I REALLY hate the dentist, but have really enjoyed going here! read more

I recently went to see Dr. Tabaraie after I still had some lingering issues with a root canal that was done poorly by a previous dentist, and unsuccessfully repaired by another dentist. Dr. Tabaraie was truly an artist in how she approached the tooth and the process of repairing it. Not only was she able to take away the lingering pain that two other dentists had failed to do, she was also able to close a gap, by working her "magic", that had been a food trap and was highly annoying. I was amazed by her gentle demeanor and extreme attention to detail. I was in her chair for two hours getting a root canal, and actually nodded off at one point, if that gives you any idea on just how gentle she can be. I broke over half of my two front teeth off and the dentist put fillings in (for now, crowns later). They look perfect and she had very little to go from. The all-woman staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The dentist and the hygienist are both warm, professional and very intelligent. The whole atmosphere is warm and welcoming (which is hard for a dentistry office). When you sit in the patient chair, you have an unobstructed view of Green Lake through ceiling-to-floor windows. It's also reasonable in cost. I would definitely recommend this office to my friends. read more

Can't say enough good things about this office. If you are afraid of going to the dentist, this is the place to go to move past it. When I first went in it had been several years since my last dental appointment and I had a chipped molar and a bunch of cavities. I was pretty nervous about going in and seeing the dentist, but Dr. Tabaraie and her staff were completely non-judgmental and entirely focused on creating a plan to get my teeth back in good shape. That included figuring out all the different work I needed done and scheduling it to work around my insurance limits and get me fixed up with the best balance of time and cost. They got done quickly what needed to be done quickly and waited on the things that could wait. Throughout the process, which has taken a few years, every procedure has been handled with calm professionalism and positivity. Even for scary things like a root canal, they are great at putting you at your ease. It's always very clear what they're doing and why, and my teeth always feel better afterward. Lakeside is the best dental facility I have been to. Dr. Tabaraie is an excellent dentist. She's very thorough and I feel takes extreme care with my mouth. I've never experienced any pain when she has filled cavalries, she's great at numbing! I also think she's very personable, which makes the experience that much more enjoyable. On a side note, my husband and I moved to Southern California for a year and when we were deciding whether or not to come back we made a pro/con list and Dr Tabaraie was on our pro list! My European dental experiences have not been very kind, so all my adult life I was terrified of anything that buzzed and drilled... About 6 month ago I found Lakeside Dental and after some work done, I can only say that my fear is almost gone (well, at least in her dental chair). The staff is very friendly and accommodating.
