I went to an event there last weekend and wow is this a great place. From the lovely gal who was a teacher for ~35 years and has 6 grandkids to the quality of the items. I know this sounds like a paid advert but after searching Amazon for quality items for my two littles, both under 6 right now, and always worrying about the quality I love this place. After the event we picked up two eggs that hatch when left in water for a couple of days, one unicorn and one dinosaur, my girl is so protective of her unicorn egg it melted me. We also picked up this set of 4 animals tiger, elephant, alligator, and giraffe. The head, body, and legs are connected by magnets so you can mix an match. My little boy decided the best way to separate the pieces is to drop the thing on the floor. So far they've all held up to his gentle mercies. I'm sure we'll be back. read more

Fairly big store. Accessible. Close to Hackensack Hospital. Great parking space. Everything was organized and clean. Staff was helpful. They were all stacked up and advised me they could order certain items, if needed. They have a bathroom available. I believe this brand has great quality products, that I use as a mother & mental health therapist for children with emotional & developmental needs & disabilities. They also carry other brands like Melissa & Doug. I took 1 star off because I didn't see any sales for Christmas and I think the prices are high. read more

I really enjoy this place. My one friend goes here to buy supplies for his children all the time and he's always using the laminator. Its a cool place they have a lot of different stuff. they sure pack a lot into a small store with variety as well. read more

Great educational toys and art supplies, although a bit pricey. Lots of supplies for teachers, again a bit pricey. Weekends they have free crafts/activities for kids which is awesome. Staff is nice & helpful. read more

Lakeshore Learning Store - Teacher Supplies Near Me - Hackensack, New Jersey

This store has some really cool toys with great ideas for learning tots. The store is laid out in a very organized manner, and you can find a bargain in some of their special sales. That being said, the stuff isn't cheap, but the quality is also there, so it's worth it. When we went, there was a manager there who was usually located in the Cherry hill store, but was up here covering for the regular managers on vacation. He was super nice, super helpful, and made several great recommendations. We ended up mistakenly buying something that was not on sale, so we had planned to return it and re-purchase it w/ a coupon (buy 1 get one 50% off) that wouldn't go into effect until Nov. 1. However, when we explained our reasoning, the manager said that he was going to just apply the coupon now (so that we wouldn't return the current toy and so we could purchase the new toy at 50% off). This was very cool of him, and much appreciated above and beyond customer service. The other employees were fine (normal) but this guy (sorry I didn't catch his name) really went above and beyond and we ended up spending a LOT more $$$ in that store than we had planned to - partially because of the cool merchandise, but mostly because of the awesome customer service and recommendations. I really enjoyed my shopping experience today. Everyone at the store was really nice and very helpful. We had a really large order and it was close to closing time and they stayed until we were done. Every time I go to this store I get great service but on Tuesday, March 19, 2019, when I walked into the store Magda Immediately began to help me and guide me with what I needed. It was a great experience, and I even purchased some additional items that I discovered that I needed because of all the helpful information that she gave me. Great place to get K-8 educational items and supplies. They have a lot of really good graphic organizers and other things to organize your classroom. Ironically they are not the friendliest customer service people you will encounter consider the clientele, but it's a useful place. read more

The stuff here isn't cheap but the quality of the products are great and the items are unique and you won't see most of them in major retailers. They do have sales and it's nice to sign up to get promotional text messages. The toys are educational which gives this place a plus. The place may be small but there's tons of stuff to pick from for all ages. The staff here is always nice and pleasant and will even make suggestions if you're unsure what to purchase. The manager here is great. She's always smiling and always moving about to make sure everything is in order. read more

As a 3rd grade teacher, I walk into this place and it is like heaven! A very expensive heaven however! Granted, if you're buying for one child, it's not too bad, but when you're buying to supply your class, it can get pricey. I come here a lot for reward pencils, poster boards, calendar materials, alphabet charts, times table charts, supplemental books, you know everything that comes out of MY OWN POCKET - but I always try to hit them up during a sale! (That was just a psa for everyone that thinks teachers have it easy - where do you think we get everything for the kiddies and who do you think pays for it!) This place is a zoo in august, so i try to pick up what i can throughout the year, but i inevitably end up here in August fighting for a parking spot, on the laminator line forever angry at the person in front of me who wants to laminate 3,000 tiny stars, and waiting equally as long on the cashier line! One of my favorite stores to get supplies for the school year! Went to laminate a bunch of stuff before the back to school rush and even though it wasn't busy, Magda made sure to help us keep our laminated stuff organized and helped us roll it up to keep it neat for checkout. Went there today with my wife and two kids (1 and 3) and I was impressed. They have a lot of educational toys, musical toys, and toys to improve motor skills. I will do most of my toy shopping a this store from now on as opposed to going to Wal-Mart, buy buy baby, or toys r us. read more

Kind of a low-budget vibe compared to some other Lakeshore Learning Centers. The manager (Amy?) seems very good and helpful. Veronica (heavy set Latina woman with glasses) was not helpful and lacked basic speaking etiquette. Probably won't go back. read more

Lakeshore at Hackensack has been my favorite store for over a year. I shop at Lakeshore frequently. Their sales people are always helpful and friendly, until today, I had my worst shopping experience ever with Veronica(a cold and mean sales was also mentioned on previous review). The coconut tree toy I buy is on sale on their website, but Veronica charge me for full price. When I noticed and pointed out to her, she firstly insisted it's a expired online promotion , when I showed her it's still a ongoing promotion she simply insisted their store hold the different price policy from their online store. She called manager, though. The manager simply say "match the price". She refund me the money, but during the whole process her body language successfully deliver me a message "I owe her money" making me feel like eating a bug. She's really good at turning off customer. read more
