The area is clearly visible from the front door (just to the right) and someone was immediately available to help It took a few minutes to retrieve my items but it was a smooth process. I've been inside the store quite a few times and while it's generally clean it can be a chaotic mess. I was looking for something specific and I couldn't find it to save my life. I went over to the area where I could request an employee, which they did come but they were pretty useless they told me they had a quantity of 2 of the items I needed but she couldn't help me find the second one (it was a toy) because the whole toy section I was in was a horrendous mess, instead of helping me look for it she took one look for maybe all of 1 minute shrugged and said I'm sorry I couldn't find it, and went on about her day. I found this very disheartening because her job is customer service and I feel like a minute of "looking" wasn't looking at all. I indeed did not find the item and just got it somewhere else. There's nothing special going on here. I wasted my time actually. But I'm also not a target person really, so no stress.

Walking into the clothing section was like how a mom must feel walking into her kid's messy room!

I was blown away when I stopped in at the selection of not only Trollbeads (more on that) but interesting items. There was a huge assortment of antiques, new crafts, cards, books, vintage furnishings - you name it, I think they may have carried it! But, back to the beads - Karen came over and she was just incredible. She clearly knows her Trollbeads and a total newbie like me learned so much from her probably less than an hour, it was amazing. Not to mention the huge selection. And, the really affordable prices on many beads that you just won't find anymore. I found Karen to be so helpful and charming and honest. It was a really nice customer experience and I highly recommend visiting Twice Told Tales for anyone in the area. Plus, the downtown is really nice with an assortment of quirky stores and restaurants (and plenty of parking). It really is a hidden gem!

Once you get over the spookiness of Party City (it somehow reminds me of a zombie apocalypse?) you can really make use of this silly place. As an event planner, I can generally rely on Party City to have many of the bits & bobs I need to add razzle dazzle to my events. Pink cowboy hat? Check. Gift bags in every color of the rainbow? Check. Plastic table cloths? Check. Balloons? Check. Let's talk about the balloons in particular, though. There are a few balloon options: 1 - Buy a package of balloons & have them fill them up behind the counter. They charge a filling fee. 2 - Bring in your own balloons & have them fill them up behind the counter. They charge a filling fee. 3 - Buy a package of balloons & fill it up elsewhere. You can buy a portable helium tank & fill them up at home, if you'd like. 4 - Buy one of their fancy balloons behind the counter & they'll fill it up. The cost of filling is included in the fancy balloon's price. I've tried every single on of these options. Recently, I indulged in #4 & it was ... not worth it. My big, shiny, fancy rainbow balloon made it 30 seconds out of the store until the wind ripped it off the ribbon it was (not so) secured to & it absconded into the sky. I had to laugh. Okay, anyways. This is a Party City & you'll find party supplies here. That's all!

So, if your plans are to have a big bash with all kinds of colorful decor, styles, shapes and ornaments, then Party City is your place to go. If you're a teacher, you likely already know about this place and have been here numerous times. I…read morereally like this place, even though I have no children and teach college students. I tend to shop here for educational items for relatives and friends' children. The staff is very friendly and patient, even when you have no idea what you are looking for. The store is well lit and well organized, so you know relatively quickly whether the item is available. The have undoubtedly the best selection of educational materials for all ages of any store around. That said, they are rather pricey and it is easy to blow through whatever budget you may have had walking in. I would suggest shopping here last, as many things can be found at Target, Amazon, and other outlets. If there is something in particular, especially harder to find educational aids, then this is your place. Just prepare to spend accordingly.

Lakeshore is a really good place for the items that are rare. Special board games, art supplies, and even classroom decor (no where sells that stuff anymore!) have huge presences throughout this place. Lots of variety, very colorful store in general (it actually is too bright in here sometimes), and lots of unique and innovative products that aren't found in any other store. I definitely get more for a buck at WB Mason, and probably shop there three times as much as here, but this is the place I get things that are fun, useful, and normally for activities that are memorable for kids. Staff are always friendly and definitely search out the clearance tags here, they are a goldmine! Make sure to bring the 20% off coupons they send out and are sometimes on their website. In closing, great place for teachers to shop for any classes from Kindergarten - Grade 8. Don't expect the lowest prices, and I would never suggest buying crayons or pencils here. They will be lots cheaper online or at Staples down the street. 4 stars for Lakeshore. Located in Newton on Needham Street (technically, it's on Industrial Place). Exit 19A off Rt. 128, turn right at the HomeGoods (Industrial Place) and the store is the last storefront on the right side of that side street.
