We Haul For You

Doug and Kolby are great people, I called Doug at We Haul For You, to fix what Unique Movers…read morecouldn't do. Kolby and his crew showed up on time, rearranged my 26 foot Uhaul that had been loaded badly already (moving to Alaska from MN). Got everything nice and snug, and then loaded what I needed from my apt and garage with a little room to spare. Kolby and his young crew were very respectful and moved things quickly, asking me along the way what should be loaded or not. My stuff was complicated. Got it done in a minimal amount of time too. The following day, I went to uhaul to pick up a car hauler, only to find out that they could only hook the trailer to the truck and help to load my vehicle, but they couldn't strap my vehicle to the trailer. Also the trailer didn't have straps, it was a toy hauler. I am a senior women, I don't know how to do this. After calling a friend for suggestions, and a tow company that couldn't do it, I called Doug. They were just finishing a moving job, he said they'd be there in about 30 minutes. And they were. Doug went with me into the uhaul store and picked out the straps I needed, and he and Kolby got my Jeep all strapped down. Even checked that the trailer was on the truck hitch correctly. They saved me twice, I am so thankful, I was finally able to get on the road. If you need movers, call Doug. Doug and Kolby are wonderful, and they will calmly, quickly and respectfully get your move done.

Ben and Vern were my two movers, and they were super strong, kind, quick, efficient, professional and had everything packed up in an hour! Once we got to the new place, they unloaded in the same amount of time, and helped me lay out the rug in the bedroom too! They took super good care of my stuff, no damages at all, and were encouraging each other throughout the process and it was great to see their teamwork! I am super appreciative of Doug, Ben and Vern for their help with my move! I would use them again in a heartbeat! Thank you, guys!

I needed them to load a 10X20 storage unit into a 26 foot long Uhaul truck, on Aug 26, 2025. The plan was to load the storage unit and then go to my apt and load minimal things from the apt and garage. They arrived about an hour late meeting me at the storage property. They moved very quickly, but with no regard as to what they were loading. My daughter and I had to watch everything they handled and constantly recall my ammo boxes and long gun cases. I had clearly indicated they needed to be kept in the rear of the truck because I had to declare them at the US and Canadian borders. One crate of ammo was for a handgun that was already in Alaska, and that got loaded and packed in the 'attic' of the truck, buried in boxes of other things. If my truck had been searched by the Canadian Agents I could have been denied entry into Canada or even arrested. Luckily it was found by the movers I had to hire to fix the mess in truck. Other than the guns and ammo, I was ridiculed and demeaned by Joe, the lead mover, for not having Uhaul blankets or ratchet straps to secure the load, and was compared to other people being prepared for out of state moves better than me. ( I have moved cross country several times in my 73 years). And through all that, they could NOT fit a 10X20 storage unit into a 26 foot Uhaul. They got it in there, but it was haphazard, with no room to spare for my things from the apt and garage(which again were minimal). I paid them(which took a long time) and let them go, there was no way I was going to have them move anything more and try to put it in that mess in the truck. I do believe I was over charged at $200/hr when I was quoted $160/hr, but I did not receive a receipt in my email or per text. I paid $748.80, I only want half in a refund, all of it would be better, but they did empty the storage unit. After getting settled in Alaska I sent them a message on Sept 11, on their website requesting to be refunded half of what I paid them, Conner did call on Sept 14, said he'd talk to Joe, but never called me back.. I sent a text message to Conner's # on Sept 22 after he had told me they would be mailing the refund. I sent a second request on Sept 26, as a request for service on their website and Conner called me. He said he would talk to Joe and get back to me. Once again he did not get back to me. At some point I did speak to him on the phone and he said he would mail a check. I waited and I sent another text on Oct 16 to let him know I had not received my refund yet, and being the owner of the company he should honor his word. Then I got a text from Crystal in the office saying she could help me. I explained why I wanted a half refund and we text messaged on and off until Nov17. At that time I asked for Conner to call me and resolve the issue, that I felt I was being strung along, and I was prepared to leave a review on every review site I could fine. He has not called me. I started with the BBB, but unique movers is not a member. So here I am. Don't hire them, their review rating is not good and I did not not pay attention to that. Please see my review of the great movers that saved me if you can find it. I'm not sure I should mention their name here. Thank you for reading all of this, I hope it helps someone.

Connor looked at what we needed him to move to Florida and said it will be $6,000. Later, after he…read morewas paid, he said that he couldn't get it all on a single load because part of his trailer was filled with someone else's stuff going to Florida, but that he'd get the rest of our stuff on his next load. When that time came, he charged an additional $1,200. When that load got to Florida, some of our stuff was still left behind. Now he wants another $2,000 to bring that down. I'm not sure what kind of scam this shady guy is running, but I'd steer clear of Unique Movers unless you like getting ripped off.

Minneapolis moving services are some of the most expensive anywhere I've experienced. I hope that simply means that MN companies pay their labor well. We paid $1365 + $180 tip (optional, but come on) for a 3-man crew at $260/hr (2-hour minimum), and we obviously also provided snacks and drinks (they declined breakfast). For comparison, in San Francisco it was $250/hr for 5 men. The rate was with both the weekday discount and winter pricing. Weekend would have been $285/hr for 3 men, and $345 for 4 men. There was no trip fee. Robert, in particular was incredible; he moved a 6 drawer dresser down a tight stairwell alone. They needed to remove the front door at one point, but did so without issue. They also were happy to use our own furniture pads and plastic wrap (leftover from a cross-country move). At one point, they had to back the huge truck through the alley on icy ground, and had no problems. Also, it was easy to provide them inventory by email, and easy to reach them by phone. Lots of moving companies were annoying to contact, which is partly why we chose this one. One a few minor issues: one piece of furniture was shedding pieces of wood. I think they were reinforcements put on by previous owners. I didn't even know they were there, and it doesn't seem to have affected the furniture. They also forgot a couple of items in the yard, including a big smoker we had to move on our own. It's partly my fault, I told them we were good to go. Also, we were made to sign a lot of paperwork, and at various points it was for things like "you confirm that nothing is broken and everything has arrived" and, like, it's weeks later and I'm still unpacking, there is no way I would have known for sure. It's fine, because so far we have had no issues, but if someone did have issues it might feel like being strong-armed via contract. The guys in the truck were just doing their jobs, so it's the process that is problematic more than anything. We would use these guys again!

Pros: -1 My slot was originally at 8:30a, but with days notice I needed to start earlier, and they were able to move it up to 8am. 2- Each individual I spoke to on the phone when setting up the appointment seemed patient, was helpful, and never came off pushy like movers can (at times). 3- The 3 guys sent were overall respectful. The lead seemed to have his stuff together and knew what he was doing, the other two (who he said were newer) weren't as efficient, but again respectful. Cons: 1- Service was from 8a-11a for the equivalent of a studio. 2- They came 15mins late, the commute between the two locations should have been 15mins but ended up being 30 because they had to stop for gas. Unfortunately when they arrived a garbage truck was now blocking the loading dock so that added another 10mins, and another 5-10mins was lost because toward the end of the job I went to my car and when I returned the lead mover was just standing outside the unit because "the door was locked", which it wasn't. He just didn't use his muscle to push open. So in all, over 45mins of wasted time, which costed me. 3- When I questioned their timing, I was told it's because I had a lot of boxes. To be fair, I did, but they were mainly smaller boxes (like for shipping). If anything i think they dragged their feet to milk the time which is very unscrupulous. 4- Their failure to used a door stopper in the beginning resulted in the unit door being scratched, which one guy tried to convince me was there before . FALSE! Anyway, the damage was shared with CMM, but there was never follow-up. Ultimately, maintenance repainted it. 5- Despite boxes being labeled for the rooms they belonged in, they paid little attention. For example those for kitchen in bedroom. 6- I ended up having to help move the dresser since it wasn't placed where I requested. By the time it was realized 2/3 of guys were at the truck and lead asked if I could help. Since I was paying for the service I would have rather not, but it was easier than having to do it alone later. Perhaps I should send them an invoice. 7- Before they took off, I wanted to just to take a peak at the back of the truck to ensure nothing was left behind. The reception to that request was odd. I mean whats the big deal?! Ultimately I went and ensured. 8- In all the delays costed me and I paid about $300-$400 more than anticipated. Funny thing is the lead kept stressing the whole gratuity thing at the end. I gave them each $20 and the look I got seemed like it wasn't enough. It instantly left me wishing I had given ZERO. My last thing which is more of a suggestion, CMM should consider investing in tees or some branded merch for their staff. Having guys show up in sneaker, crocs, and street clothes really didn't provide a professional look which yes, is possible for movers.

While other…read morecompanies were quoting me nearly 3x as much and worse service, U-Pack came thru with a much better quote and unbelievable customization for what I needed. I hired movers in Minneapolis and loaded up the truck. Four days later, u-pack arrived with my stuff ready for my Washington DC movers to unload it. If I had one complaint (I don't, but /if/ I did,), it would be that u-pack won't help you on the other end of the transaction. If you're moving to a suburb or a place with a loading dock, you're 100% fine. I was moving into the city and needed to have parking for this semi, which proved very difficult since I didn't yet live in the city. Even so, U-Pack worked with me to find a visible solution and ended up storing my items on the truck for a few extra days until my parking permits could take effect. Final comment on this: on what was already a very challenging and stressful move, their dispatchers and drivers were a 6/5 stars. They were so nice and patient. I told one dispatcher the problem with parking and she said "you sound so stressed, sweetie. Don't worry, we'll find you a solution. Welcome to DC." I seriously would have hugged her through the phone if I could have.

Their policy of pay for only what you use is great - we had two ReloCubes delivered and only used one. No hidden fees or taxes, unlike Pods! Reading the BBB reviews of Packrat scared me away, so I stuck it out with UPack and couldn't be more satisfied. My ReloCube arrived well ahead of schedule and it was dropped off early in the morning. Just a word of advice though: When loading your contents, don't call to schedule your pickup until it's totally ready! They don't offer pickup windows. I asked them to pick it up at the end of the day (which they said they'd try but couldn't guarantee it) and it came at 10am - yikes I wasn't ready! Thankfully they came back the next day for no charge. Barb on the phone was really personable and pleasant. She gave me a suggestion on what to check out on my road trip and it was awesome! Thank you so much UPack I'll recommend you any day!
