The owners are very kind and treat you like you are part of the family. Always a good vibe, and always feel very welcome. What I love most about their menu is that they serve fresh game. I love their game soup. Anything they serve that is game deserves an A+. I crave their game meals on a daily basis. I wanted to go here for Valentines Day but I could not get my husband to drive out of Newmarket and resorted to another pub which I wasn't happy with, so he does owe me a night at the New Inn. They always have new specials, it is always wise to check out their specials on the black board. I always have their specials whatever they are. They never disappoint. I have had their Sunday carvery and it is delicious. I never over spend, I always get a lot for my money, I am always happy and my tummy is full and my taste buds are always satisfied. They have a pretty good selection of ales, beers and ciders. Their menu is pretty large, I will take pictures of it and post it soon. There is lots to eat if you are a vegetarian and lots to eat if you are not! I need to try their exotic meats on a slab, they get exotic meat flown in from Scotland.

The bar area is a bit small, but there are plenty (about 10) of different beers on tap. I ordered a Greene King IPA and found it very tasty; not overtly hoppy tasting. There are many smaller dining rooms that make the patron feel cramped for space, so we elected to sit in the covered porch area for dinner. I ordered the fish and chips and thought it average. Overall, the service was good, the meal was hot, and the beer cold. Nothing fancy, though.

I'll start off by saying that I don't generally give places a full five stars on my first visit…read morebecause they'll usually do something trivial to irritate me or their food won't knock my socks off. This place, however, had amazing food, the best Thai tea that I've ever had, and the woman who served us (I won't insult her by trying to spell her name) was extremely friendly and forthcoming despite the fact that they were closing in twenty minutes for the end of lunch. I'm from The States; so, perhaps I find British food a little bland and repetitive after a few months but their food had great flavor and was decently priced for the quality. After stumbling through the menu after a night of drinking, she kindly joked that I needed some sugar to clear my fuzzy head and recommended that I have a large Thai tea as we waited for our food. I agreed and Boy! Am I grateful I did. You won't find any of that orange, powdered pre-made stuff like you do in the states at this spot. It was so refreshing and definitely the pick-me-up that I needed. The Bangkok Pad Thai with prawns was also delicious. She let me spice it up and cautioned me against ordering the Thai Spicy until I came back haha. I stuck with a level three and it had some good heat to it. I also got eight giant prawns in a medium sized amount of Pad Thai. For me, that's pretty amazing considering that it was only 10 pounds and typically places either give you those tiny prawns or only one or two of them. So, I'll definitely be getting it again. My friends ordered the Drunken Noodles (with rice noodles) and the Panang Chicken Curry. They both let me try a bite of both and they were also amazing. The coconut milk in the curry is phenomenal and the drunken noddles had a nice savory taste. I would also order their meals another time. Other than the food being well worth it, the woman who took care of us and took our take out order was hilarious and I can't wait to go back and get to actually dine in. I'll be posting photos the next time!

I am American, I am a huge foodie, and I eat steaks and food all around the world. I was able to say, "that was the best steak I have ever had in my life!" I had the 9oz Kangaroo fillet cooked medium rare. It was perfect. My whole table ordered Kangaroo, either the fillet, or the hamburger. Everyone was quite pleased. The Kangaroo fillet is lean protein, won't make your waist line bulge. It was so tender, I cut it with a butter knife. It needed nothing, just the steak itself, it was absolutely delicious. The service was good, although our service was novice, I suggest in the future before he steps out into the field memorize the menu before you start seeing customers, I got a lot of "I don't knows", but that is OK, it's a training issue, but the food was fantastic and that is all that mattered. I enjoyed a nice glass of port afterwards and my lot enjoyed the guest ales they had on top. I've also experimented with the pizzas, they are quite nice, but who needs a pizza when you can have a Kangaroo fillet? I eagerly await my next meal at the Station, I look forward to trying another exotic animal.
