Like many of the negative reviews here, we used this company twice through AHS. The first service request for leaky faucets was not helpful at all - we were basically told the leak was due to older components of the pipe and the service was left with a DIY recommendation. We were charged for this appointment. Lori is by far one of the rudest people I have ever encountered in customer service. After a scheduling miscommunication, she refused to return our call for rescheduling and will not submit the necessary info to AHS which would allow us to move forward with another vendor. Maybe they shouldn't contract with AHS policyholders if they consistently treat those customers with an utter lack of respect and professional courtesy. read more

Have American Home Shield as my warranty company. Garbage disposal started leaking, called them and Laurie from Lake Plumbing called me back within ten minutes. Was able to get an appointment for the next day with an 8 AM to 12 Noon window -- a miracle as far as I was concerned, with the holiday coming up. Next morning, Laurie called me and said Bob was actually running early, and if I wanted, he could be there a little earlier than 8 AM. Boy, did I ever want that! He showed up within minutes. Took one look at the disposal, said "yep, it's leaking," went out to his van, brought a new one in (same exact model as the one it was replacing), and replaced it within 20 minutes. Runs great, and no more leaks. Couldn't ask for better response or better service. Yes, maybe this wasn't the most complicated repair, but it was done professionally and in a very short amount of time, and when you're waiting for the plumber to get there so you can get to work afterwards, that was a big help to me. My initial phone call to Lake plumbing was through American Home Shield. When we explained to Laurie at Lake Plumbing what the issue was she immediately said it sounded like our leak was coming from the air conditioner condensing system. They took 24 hours to come to a service call when they were told there was standing water in our attic. She refused to come earlier and told me that American Home Shield could not legally call another vendor because they had 24 hours to respond (despite me telling them of the water damage and the urgency of my service request). In other words, she presented the issue to me as she didn't give two cents about my problem and now that she had the service call in her possession she was refusing to let it go. Laurie tried to tell me she spent an hour on the phone with American Home Shield for my benefit (I had spent at least 3 hours on the phone with AHS that morning because of the problems Laurie was causing me) but everyone has to wait on hold with AHS and I didn't buy her attempt at making me feel guilty for asking for quicker service due to my STANDING WATER damage in my attic. We waited 24 hours and the Lake Plumbing technician went to my home only to tell me that IT WAS THE A/C CONDENSING LINE AND THAT THEY COULD NOT SERVICE IT. So, now, even though Laurie guessed/knew what the initial problem was, we had to wait even longer for American Home Shield to call an HVAC company to tend to our STANDING WATER leak in our attic. My guess is that although Laurie basically knew they could not service the leak even 24 HOURS before they came out, she took the service call so that she could make the $75 service call deductible. To me this was a complete lack of integrity or caring. I would never do personal business with Lake Plumbing. Everyone likes to make money but if you know you can't even service a problem why basically "steal" a service fee from an insurance company? I had to pay the deductible of $75 regardless of which vendor fixed my problem so the $75 came right out of the pocket of American Home Shield. This problem, in turn, makes the deductibles larger for the AHS customers in the long run. Use this company (which is NOT service oriented and operates with less than honest pracatices) at your own risk. read more

I bought my house 12 years ago and the first year it was covered by American Home Shield insurance in case we had any problems the first year. Two months in had a major leak under kitchen sink and AHS sent Lake Plumbing out. He showed up on time did a great job and kept everything clean during the process. I got his direct number because I was so impressed with the job he did. After that year was up I did not renew with AHS insurance, but the last eleven years I call him direct and he does all my plumbing. My offices, rentals and home! Great plumber! read more

I was happy to see a plumber after 3 days of filling my bath tub and large containers with water since my shower valve was leaking badly. The first plumber came and said it needed new parts and Home Depot did not carry the cartridge I needed. Then I called AHS insurance and they send a plumber named Bob from Lake Plumbing. He told me the shower only took Glacier Bay cartridges and luckily he had one. After he hooked it up the water line was reversed and the hot came out where you get in and out of the shower. I only used it once and was scared I would scaled myself if I didn't shut it off fast. Not happy with this I called a third plumber who fixed the problem for another $80.00. Lori from lake plumbing is so rude, our toilet over flowed a few days ago, I shut off water,and called our home warranty American home shield, they set us up with Lake plumbing, appt for 3-18-20 between hours of 12-4pm. I was activated this morning to pick up food for the homeless women and children organization between 10:30-1130, I volunteer for, "Project touch. " Pechanga our local Casino in Temecula had donated their food and veggies to our organization. I was max 6 mins away. Received first a call at 11:55 that tech was in route and would be there in 5 mins, I mentioned what I was doing... these days and months are so uncertain and we had a big donation but that I was leaving and could be home shortly, she rudely said no, and she was going to cancel appt stated I should have been home. They called two hours before the scheduled appointment and had emailed me previous to that. The repairman was at my door when I arrived home, had the exact part needed to fix the faucet. This company is by far the most unprofessional business I have ever dealt with. I would recommend anyone needing plumbing help to seek service anywhere else but here. First of all, the specialist confirmed arrival time between 9am-11am and proceeded to show up at 7am unexpectedly, two hours before the confirmed time slot. My mom was getting by disabled brother ready for school and had to drop everything and attend to this man. She pointed out that we needed our water pressure fixed in our front yard and in our backyard and that was all. The man started to work and my mom returned to the bedroom to get my brother ready and she heard someone walking around the house and its the specialist lingering around in our kitchen without permission! The man was outside in the front yard and came inside our house without anyone's knowledge to do god knows what! He could've rang the door bell or something if he needed to be inside for whatever reason but neglected to do so. The specialist then went on to say that he did not remember what kind of parts were needed for the front and backyard water regulator and that he would need to get back to us. So he left, without fixing the issue we paid him for or without giving us any type of insight as to how they would come back to fix the problem. So of course, my mom calls the company's phone number and Laurie answers and is not understanding or empathetic to this situation at all! By the way, my mom speaks with a slight accent so Laurie decided to insult her for it and tell her that "This is America." Really? Are you kidding me? You're going to tell a customer that this is america, a customer who paid for a service to be completed professionally by your company. Instead of acknowledging the problem you're going to be even more rude and unprofessional than the service man who came to our house. Laurie decided to end the conversation by hanging up the phone on my mom while she was still voicing her concerns. I really hope from the bottom of my heart that no one's family has to go through the disrespect that mine went through from this company. And I can only wish that anyone reading this review will pass on sending their business to this terrible company. AHS recommended this plumbing service for our water heater (Best Company AHS has ever recommended), but after Bob (nice guy) came out and told me we needed to pull a permit from the city in order for him to put a new water heater in at an EXTRA cost and also he needed to hook up a drain line to the upper pressure relief valve at an EXTRA cost. I forgot to mention the water heater was 7-years old on a 9-year warranty. So, Lake Plumbing would have to do an exchange at Lowes, that I did with the help of my plumber that made the new water heater free. BTW I wasn't told by anyone at AHS or Lake Plumbing that Lowes needed a return authorization, which I had to do at Lowes (took an hour). So exchange done. AHS gives you the option to cash-out, which I did. The reason I did this is because with all Lake Plumbing's additional costs plus my deductible, which is what I expected to owe would have been 3-times more. My plumber a 5-star Yelp Company did the job for $50 less, plus my cash-out we saved a pretty penney. Also, I DID NOT have to pull a permit from the city and was told 90% of people don't do this or need to do this??????so, just a FYI. This permit stuff raised a Red Flag on my trust issue of Lake Plumbing padding their bill. read more

This company went out of their way for us when our water heater went out last week. We have AHS home warranty insurance so there is a standard wait time for the contracted repair place to contact you to set an appt. They called within about an hour after the service call was made. Then they squeezed us in for a service call the next day between 7:30am and 11am. The tech was at our house by 7:15! Then when the water heater came in they went out of their way to get in touch with us to get it installed. It came in over the weekend and the tech was scheduled for 7:30 - 8:30 Monday morning. Again he arrived by 7:15am!! Had it fixed in about 2 hours maybe less. The scheduler Laurie went out of her way to help and get us the quickest service possible. They were really great. read more

I'm giving one star only because there is not a way to give zero stars. Like Donna, I got stuck with this vendor through American Home Shield. After I waited almost two days to be scheduled for an appointment, his wife Laurie said he won't come to the appointment unless my dog is "put outside." Why? Because, she says, "He's been bitten before." Okay, so your cry-baby husband who clearly doesn't know how to act around dogs has a business where he has to go into people's houses, and he thinks he gets to make the rules about what goes on in said houses? No. I offer to keep my dog on a leash by my side, but that's not good enough. So I call AHS to request another plumber, and they tell me they have to protect their vendors (Hey... you're supposed to be in the business of protecting me and my property) and they won't send anyone else. I say, "I'm not living with a rabid, wild wolf. She's a goofball Labradoodle, for god's sake. If your wimpy vendors are so threatened by the mere idea of a dog being in a house (not the dog herself), they're in the wrong business!" I don't know why I'm shocked by human stupidity any more, but I am. And I don't know how this idiot is still in business with that ridiculous attitude. read more
