I saw this body of water while driving past and pulled over. I don't know how many miles this is, but it's a big loop around. I walked a little, then sat down near the water, admiring the scenery. It seems a lot of people come out here for a run or some form of exercise, or bring their furbabies. It is a very relaxing area, so I can see why so many people are out here on this Christmas day. I will tell you if you want to sit like me, there's plenty of sitting along the trail and at the edge of the water. Also, there's a lot of grassy area for the dogs. Oh, and the trail is more of a gravel trail instead of a pavement, so wear a pair of sturdy tennis shoes.

I don't know who like it more me, or my dog! This is my favorite place to walk my best friend and also my most challenging place for outdoor runs. There's always people fishing, biking, running, playing In the sand or sitting on the benches. There are no restrooms around the park, so plan to commit to the 3mile walk around until your next potty break. My dog is always intrigued by the ducks swimming around and gets very close to them as they are gentle and friendly. Very peaceful and quiet. I absolutely recommend catching a sunset there, beautiful view! Plenty of parking around the park and at the main entrance, lots of room for picnics in the shaded area, clean bathrooms and trash cans conveniently placed along the trail. Go get some fresh air. And if you see my doggo out there, stop and say hi!

Got to come here for the water lantern festival! It's a beautiful lake located in beautiful part of Pflugerville! The event was nice and got to float our lanterns on the water! Very nice looking and had a nice time with my family and friends! Love to come visit here again for hiking or even fishing as well!! :) Cheers

This place has an approximately 3 mile loop around a body of water. The trail itself is primarily gravel / dirt, with minimal trees or shade, and plenty of wind (especially on the south and east sides) and plenty of sunshine. There are several parking lots around the lake with access to the trail. The main lot is gated. The trail can also be accessed from a few of the adjacent neighborhoods. There are a couple of murals on the ground, and some benches dot the trail. Quarter mile marker stone stakes also make their presence known along the perimeter. Also seems to be well maintained.

Came here for the first time with my family and friends. We had a huge get together along the beautiful lake. We were conveniently near the patio and clean restrooms. There is a paved trail all around this small lake. It appears that you can rent a paddle board, but it was closed on Sunday. People were fishing along the several docks that they have there. The lake water was clear and safe to swim in. We felt safe there because they also have police officers patrolling the area. Although, we did encounter one of them on a Polaris cart and he was super rude and arrogant. There's a small turnaround to unload your vehicles and a nearby parking lot.

Lake Pflugerville offers fun for the family and those seeking to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. This is one of my favorite spots to visit with my husband because you cannot only swim here, but also walk around the entire lake to get your steps in. There is a beachfront area that can get a little bit noisy at times. But that's fine because I'll swear around the lake there are a little nooks and cute picture areas where you can go to get some peace and quiet. This is fantastic for picnics, riding on a kayak, or having barbecue with friends. My only gripe is that I wish there were food trucks. I think having a small food truck area would be really beneficial given the audience that tends to come to this lake.

It's always a pleasure to see the transition of earth in the evening at Pf Lake. I enjoy coming here alone or with friends. It's total vibe and everybody is pretty much happy coming here. There are lots of people in the water today, even though there is some buildup of naturalsources in the pictures below. Honestly I would go here every day if I could.

Lake Pflugerville is a great place to get outside! I love walking my dog here as there are many other dogs (on leash), birds, turtles, and people to watch. The graveled path is clean and well-kept. And in the summertime, many people like to take their boats out to fish or just to float and enjoy the water. It does get pretty dark once the sun sets so be prepared with a flashlight or headlamp. There is plenty of parking alongside the lake as well. So if this is the new year of new you, get outside and get moving here!

The nearest ocean is 200 miles/ 3 hours away. And it's like 100+ degrees every day in the summer now. So it's nice to have a place to cool down with a beach vibe in central Austin, despite it being small and man made. Aside from the "beach", there's water sports, fishing, and jogging trails. With that said, manage your expectations..this is central Texas after all, and not Florida! There are multiple entrances with parking though the sandy area is on the east side only. It's free at the moment but given time, I'm sure they will start charging like with everything in the Austin Area. Anyways, I'm happy to have this as an option.

I enjoy coming here for exercise, solace, and tranquility. One of my favorite places to be whether during a nice sunrise or sunset. The people that come here are friendly as well. Good energy :)

Porto-johns during COVID times. The restrooms and water fountains are turned off during the pandemic.

Calm and clean water - check. Piers for fishing - check. Swim beach - check. Playscape for the kids - check. Shaded pavilion to escape the scorching sun - check. Kayak rental shack and launch point - check. A short drive from North Austin - check. Plentiful parking - check. FREE entry - check. Huge purple martin condos and tons of assorted birds - check. What's not to love? The park at Lake Pflugerville is fantastic for a family-friendly day on the water, without the noise and danger of powerboats and jet skis you'll get on Lake Travis. Oh yeah, and if you like to walk, run, or cycle on trails, Lake P-ville has you covered with a 5k (3 mile) crushed granite loop with quarter mile markings around the lake. Shade is very limited, so wear a hat or get here early in the morning to miss the brutal summer sunshine. Fishing enthusiasts may catch largemouth bass, white crappie, channel catfish, or bluegill here. There are submerged trees and artificial reefs installed in the lake to make these fish happy. See the "Pfishing Information & Depths" image for tips on where to catch what. Lake P-ville is man-made, like most lakes in Texas. Construction of the 180-acre reservoir began in 2005 and was completed in 2006. Pumps are used to bring water through a 16-mile pipeline from the lower Colorado River to provide fresh water to area residents. I've heard that water quality and level can fluctuate, so your mileage may vary depending on the time of year. My family has always had a good experience here, and I've volunteered at several triathlons held here, such as http://lakepflugervilletri.com/. 9-9-19 not worth the drive right now. It's not a lake at the moment. It's like three puddles. Definitely not a place for paddle boarding.

Excellent place to go for a run or even walk the dog! You can hang out by the beach area and BBQ, go for a swim, and even go fishing.

Perfect for a quick, impromptu trip to a "lake". It's free, family and pet friendly and not usually too packed.

Ask the Community - Lake Pflugerville

Can you swim here ? How much is it to enter? Is this only for fishers and boats or can people swim here?

Yes, people even swim across the lake. There is no costs currently, including no parking cost. Fishermen might be a small nuisance to those swimming a far way from the beach area.

My nephew was extremely excited!!I noticed that everything was thoroughly thought out. The entrance gate is slightly heavy (two to pass through. There were several areas to play: sensory areas, sand box (large), agility, strength training for the littles, and a cute township area where kids can ride (provided mini bikes) bikes or scooters in the "city". The imagination stations were adorable. Most areas were covered well. They had several restrooms and water stations. Seating for birthdays and such. I didn't have time to take pictures. There are chimes to sound and drums to play, The children really enjoyed this area. They had a zip line made for children. They have a shopping area for them to pretend -- along with their own personal H-E-B! My granddaughter really enjoyed pretending to shop. I think that's a secret word here, there's a lot of pretending going on here! I highly recommend this park. It's important to know that animals are not allowed unless it's a service animal. There's a lot of kids running and yelling and playing and laughing. This is not the place for you if you're going to a park to read a book. This is definitely a great place for children or for parents to play with their children. I highly recommend you visit.

There is also a small incline that works well for some light hills practice. There is plenty of parking, bathrooms, picnic seating under a pavilion, a basketball court, a water fountain, spots for fishing, and it sits inside a nice neighborhood. I enjoy coming here for simple runs both in the morning and afternoons. There's not lighting to make it worthwhile to visit at night.. Sometimes people will bring their dogs off leash and let them roam around, so be careful of that, but for the most part people are very respectful and courteous of each other on the loop. Like many small, local parks, parking can be an issue, but not here, there are 28 parking spaces. Between the parking lot and the HOA pool, which is for Lakeside residents only, you'll find a water retention area. Also, in the same area, you'll find a full basketball court. The good news is that the park, unlike the pool, is a public park. There is one very large covered picnic area complete with a fountain, grill and public bathrooms. Dotted along the paved trail you'll find other smaller single table covered picnic areas complete with grills. These picnic spots sit close to a sheltered pond where you can watch local wildlife such as egrets and Herons. At the far end of the park is a much larger body of water complete with a dock which also links up to an unpaved gravel trail. As others have already mentioned, there is no large playscape on the property. Additional photos and videos posted for your added insight.
