Short: 4 1/2 stars. wonderful peaceful nice accommodating resort. Visited week of July 19th '23.
[Service] Chelsea at the front desk was fantastic and had very good hospitality. She was very welcoming and made us feel comfortable - at home. Check in with her was easy. When we wanted to extend our stay, the front desk made it easy and accommodating on not moving us to another room.
The weekend staff night and day, were very to the book. Almost grouchy. A different experience compared to The weekdays. The weekend night staff was quick to close the pool Friday night - right at 9pm. He had his shirt open and shortly after he went out to do a smoke break. He did see me come into the lobby and asked if I needed anything before going back to take a smoke break at 9:15pm. Chelsea [weekday front desk] on the others hand, understood that this is a vacation and relaxing spot - since she mentioned as long we were quiet we could enjoy the pool and hot tub til 10pm. No one was noisy or causing a disturbance. The weekend day staff was extremely quick Saturday morning to close and clean up breakfast. I arrived 2 mins after breakfast was over and everything was already put away. She was nice enough to grab a few breakfast items from the back when I asked. Then on Sunday morning around 9am, she barely had any breakfast out and I had to come back after she put a few more muffins and bagels out. However, I came back around 9:30am, and there was still barely any breakfast items out. A few bagels, 2-3 muffins, oatmeal, and cereal.
[Rooms + Amenities] Rooms seemed newly modeled and chic appearance. Bathroom is small, but has a tub and shower. Each room has a decent microwave, mini fridge, and coffee maker. Also all of them had a view of Lake Norfolk, absolutely stunning. There's no room phones - so you'll have to go to the lobby for fresh towels and some extras. Beds were ok, definitely on the softer side. No one knocked on The doors - keeping us to ourself. The balcony patio is shared and not private. The door to the outer patio does not work with the room key - so you have to leave the door open to not lock yourself out. Front desk Chelsea was very clear about the outer door and need to ask for fresh towels.
Pool is indoor but colder than the Lake in July. The hot tub was perfect and you could set how long you want the bubbles yourself. On weekend nights, they have color lights going on in the pool and hot tub. There is also a dressing room with toilet and shower area. Plus a sauna! Ice machine was restaurant grade so easy to fill up coolers. However sadly when I wanted to get ice someone took ALL the ice! I hope in the future they make a sign asking others not to take all the ice for their large coolers. Sharing is caring especially ice in the summertime.
Highway is next to the resort, but not a nuisance.
Marina is conviently across the street, has boat slips to rent and a boat ramp. The resort have lots of boat and trailer parking in the back.
Lobby has a juice machine, water bottles, and a fancy for around here Nescafe coffee machine. Which guests can help themselves to anytime.
[Price] Rooms were about $90-105/night. Depending on weekday/weekend and season so obviously subject to change.
[Overall] I really enjoyed my stay, definitely was a nice peaceful resort like stay. Chelsea definitely was a star employee making sure we all felt welcomed and have a good time visiting. I really appreciated the indoor pool and how friendly Chelsea was. Also loved the AC in the room! read more
