The Bayou Resort is a great place to stay. The rooms are clean but are not overly modern they have all the ammenities that you need to stay for a few day. The kitchenettes have pots & pans, plates & flatware. The resort is almost a stones throw from Norfork lake so you can be in or on the water in about 5-10 minutes. The resort also has a pool if you don't feel like going down to the lake or if you just need to have a change of pace. We have been coming here for 5 years and have always had a good experience. So if you need a place close to the lake you could do alot worse than staying at the Bayou Resort.

The office staff was super understanding and gave us a full refund for the remainder of our stay. They had an awesome bar and, in the next building over, a nice recreational area with a pool table, fireplace and several other game options. We did misunderstand that the bar had some limited food options. All in all we decided the wording on their website was just as little confusing regarding the food options and about boat rentals (as opposed to guided fish trips). But if we had not been wanting the pool option on this trip, this was a really nice place and we would definitely consider returning!

They had great breakfast and lunch specials, and dinner was affordable and tasty too. Home made pies were a specialty of the house. Prices were very reasonable. A change in ownership, in my opinion, resulted in a decline in food quality and service. Although there was still some pretty decent food being served, the prices started to climb and menu offerings became more limited. The last few times I ate there the food was just so-so. You could do worse for lunch, but it's not worth going out of your way for. I've noticed the crowds aren't there anymore either.

BTW, the previous post has nothing to do with the White Sands Motel. The White Sands Motel (now Cotter Trout Lodge) does not own the White Sands Restaurant. But I do know all the locals eat at the White Sands Restaurant. I live one block from the motel and recommend both the NEW (remodeled) motel AND the restaurant.

My wife and I started our vacation at another resort in the area on Saturday Aug 20th…read more Unfortunately there were some circumstances (bedbugs) that arose at the other resort where we started our vacation that left us no choice but to relocate. (I'm torn on whether to write a review for the other resort as I don't want others to suffer our issues, but I hate to see small businesses fail, I'm still debating). Now to Fish and Fiddle. While sitting in Urgent Care I did a search on Google for another resort and I decided to contact Fish and Fiddle. I called Mike and told him of our circumstances and all the preventative actions we performed to remediate any infestation. Mike told us to come on out and my wife agreed to give it a chance (she was very apprehensive). Instantly upon meeting Mike, my wife was put at ease. Mike, Denny, Sue, and Jerry went above and beyond all of our expectations to make our remaining vacation a success. My wife and I consider them FRIENDS that will be with us the rest of our lives due to their efforts in accommodating us. We have already started making plans for our return trip. As for the facilities, the pool, the game room are outstanding (I enjoyed the pool table and card games). The response to any questions that arose were answered immediately and our cabin had everything needed to make our stay perfect. If there was something we did need, Mike, Denny, or Sue found it for us. In closing, for a family that has only been running a resort since June 2022, all I can say is, "You will not find a better set of Hosts any where you go. my wife and I thank Mike, Denny, Sue, and Jerry from the bottom of hearts! While the water was up and we did not have any luck fishing, we were fortunate to find this place. The cabin was perfect for the price and had almost all the basics you could need. Access to fishing was excellent, especially with waders, and they also rent boats or you could schedule a guided fishing trip. They indicated plans are in the works for a version of a restaurant and I would say that would be a welcome addition, even if only open limited days and hours. But if you don't mind sandwiches and burgers on the grill, there is a wal mart a relatively short drive away. The pool was small but enough for a refreshing dip and to sit and relax for a while. We will definitely be going back.
