Example: hiring someone as a "Front Desk Receptionist" but demanding, expecting, harassing and brow beating the employee hired for reservations and guest service to put a bell and a sign at the front desk and instead of welcoming all who enter be banished to the laundry room to wash, dry and fold commercial laundry 40 hours a week. And when the receptionist is actually doing her job she was hired to do, take a reservation, the manager is anxiously pacing behind her to hurry her up with the call to get back to the laundry room. The laundry room has broken, outdated faulty appliances. They really should hire a laundry assistant, invest in updated equipment and let the receptionist focus on welcoming the guests. Also there is always a child who comes to work with his grandma and stays her entire shift and even helps her with her chores. Is that even legal? It's unprofessional for sure.

My wife and I started our vacation at another resort in the area on Saturday Aug 20th…read more Unfortunately there were some circumstances (bedbugs) that arose at the other resort where we started our vacation that left us no choice but to relocate. (I'm torn on whether to write a review for the other resort as I don't want others to suffer our issues, but I hate to see small businesses fail, I'm still debating). Now to Fish and Fiddle. While sitting in Urgent Care I did a search on Google for another resort and I decided to contact Fish and Fiddle. I called Mike and told him of our circumstances and all the preventative actions we performed to remediate any infestation. Mike told us to come on out and my wife agreed to give it a chance (she was very apprehensive). Instantly upon meeting Mike, my wife was put at ease. Mike, Denny, Sue, and Jerry went above and beyond all of our expectations to make our remaining vacation a success. My wife and I consider them FRIENDS that will be with us the rest of our lives due to their efforts in accommodating us. We have already started making plans for our return trip. As for the facilities, the pool, the game room are outstanding (I enjoyed the pool table and card games). The response to any questions that arose were answered immediately and our cabin had everything needed to make our stay perfect. If there was something we did need, Mike, Denny, or Sue found it for us. In closing, for a family that has only been running a resort since June 2022, all I can say is, "You will not find a better set of Hosts any where you go. my wife and I thank Mike, Denny, Sue, and Jerry from the bottom of hearts! We wish and pray for their success at this amazing resort they have taken on! We love this place and the amazing people who run it.

Parking is not great for those rooms AT ALL!!! The mattress was extremely hard but some like that so that just depends on your preference. The room was small but we were only in there for sleep so not a huge deal for us. The bathroom was extremely small and hot but again, just there for sleeping. The AC was in the sitting room (no TV in there). Thankfully we brought our fan with us so it would blow air into the bedroom area. My main complaint would be the fact that they rent and shuttle THEIR kayaks or rafts but, even if you spend money to stay at Jack's Resort for the weekend, they don't offer you the option of paying them to shuttle your personal kayaks (that was what we went to that area for). They only shuttle if you rent the kayaks from them. So we had to go down to Angler's to get them to shuttle us up river. Next time, we will probably just stay at Angler's for that reason. On the plus side, JoJo's was a great place to eat and it was nice to be able to just walk over there.

Although Jack and his wife have passed on the family are still running things. They have everything you need to go fishing. You can rent a boat with a motor, fishing poles and bait. Or you can employ a fishing guide to take you out. They are independent contractors but, provide a terrific service at a reasonable cost. We always stay in a river side room that has a screened porch out the back. The resort is rustic but, very clean with a restaurant right next door. They also provide grills so you can cook what you catch for supper. Don't pass this place by.

My guide was fantastic, super friendly, and pointed out interesting things along the way like wild hog tracks on a tree and a spring where the hogs had made a little "mud spa." It really made the ride special. The only downside was my interaction with the owner. I had called earlier in the morning to check if they were open after a heavy rain, and a very kind lady explained that while reservations were preferred, I could just call about 30 minutes before arriving. When I did call later, the owner answered and was very upset that I said I'd be there in 30 minutes, not realizing I'd spoken with someone earlier. Once we cleared up the misunderstanding, she seemed more businesslike, but it definitely left a negative impression. My advice: make a reservation in advance to avoid any issues. The ride itself is absolutely worth it, but the overall experience could be smoother with better communication at the front end.
