The deck and views were wonderful, so good in fact we spent much of our time there, even in the heat. Comfortable seating and umbrellas kept us very comfortable! The pool was terrific with lots of floating devices and toys for big and little kids. We used the grill for BBQ, fire pits for S'mores, kids loved swing set, even played horshoes. We had a blast on the pontoon, Sean drove for us and we enjoyed his company. Can't say enough about how accommodating he was! Both on pontoon and assisting when we had questions and made some excellent suggestions. We certainly had a wonderful family vacation and I have recommended to my friends and family. They are nicely updated and they've thought of everything, from the provided bed and bath linens to comfortable seating areas and the beautiful screened porches. Their private swim dock is nestled in a little cove, making it great for swimming and fishing without worrying about boat traffic. The view of the lake is unbeatable and the sunrises are unforgettable. 101 boat dock is a hop, skip and jump away making it super convenient to dock your own boat or rent one of theirs. At first, I loved the Eagles Nest. After my wedding not so much, I had thought I was gonna get…read morecenter pieces but those never showed and I thought after I had asked for my sign to be customized (which he said he was going to) and it to have our last name on there but it didn't, it had someone else's last name on there from a previous wedding they did.. I didn't have time to change it so I had to deal without the sign on my wedding day. He told me he was going to pick up the chairs and tables on the November 9th but picked it up the day after the wedding and had an attitude with the people who had put their stuff away. Keep in mind, things would have been cleaned if he wouldn't have picked it up so soon but he showed up unannounced and with a stick up his ass, proceeds to write me a nasty text saying where to send the cleaning bill to and that he "should have left when I saw you didn't tell me the truth about the sand floor turning into a concrete like base" (it's not sand it's a mix). Then after him and I going back and fourth for a while he proceeds to try and FaceTime and call me, to which both times I clicked him to my voicemail. He told me he arrived at 9am to which the people at where I was having my wedding told me he arrived at 2pm, I was also originally told it was going to be around $480 and it ended up being $800 (I am aware prices can change) but to be charged 9 hours to set up 6 tables was ridiculous, also tried to get me to change the location of my wedding no matter how many times I told him I couldn't due to my fathers health. The arch that we had rented got a chip due to the unloading and he wanted to charge me for it because apparently a horse but it but I know a horses bite and it would of taken out a larger chunk then it did but it was only missing a small piece, also you would of seen a bunch of teeth and gnawing marks on it, not a small piece gone. To be treated like this after my wedding was ridiculous. Honestly, save your money and go somewhere else because heaven forbid you have a single speck of dirt on his white, plastic chairs that were already stained to begin with. Don't ask this place to do a barn wedding at a barn. (I wrote this review on Facebook also but they blocked me shortly after and removed it.)

He had mentioned since they changed cleaning ladies that we were going to get charged 400$ extra to get ready there. Before in our original contract it was included. I brushed it off and told him I would just get ready beforehand then come out decorate. We didn't want to 400$ just to get ready. After I had said that he dropped it down to 200$. I still said no. We waited a couple of days to make are minds up and decided to just cancel are event with them because he was violating the contract that we had made months prior to this. We didn't feel comfortable getting married there when he was clearly try to scam us. Definitely would not do business with this man ever again. He goes back on his contracts and trys to get you to pay more after set price. He is a scam. I had posted a review on his Facebook page but was deleted and blocked instantly.

This is also a great place for those who are horseback riding beginners. The staff provide an excellent tutorial and match riders to a horse based on their skill level. Skill level is self reported so they do some "training" in the arena before going into the open pastures. This is not your ordinary nose to tail trail ride. If your comfortable with it the owners will allow you to canter a bit in good areas. You are also free to ride side by side instead of staying single file.

The man who answered speculated "... it must have been left that way by the housekeeping staff" and encouraged me to look for any items I'm missing. What part of the hotels housekeeping procedures include "prop guests doors open and leave unattended during and after your shift"? What I might have had stolen from me is only part of my concerns. The bigger concern is what was covertly done to the room and my belongings in my absence. I provided the above review is response to a Holiday Inn email requesting a review of my stay. Seven days later I receive an email from a member of the corporate "Service Team" who offered to me the hope local hotel management "... will take the necessary actions to ensure the best practices are in place."

They were very friendly at the front desk at check-in and while we were staying, the swimming spot was nice the views were great. Friendly restaurant. Mostly friendly staff. The showers for camping were musty though, would suffocate you in mildew smell while u shower and your only other option is the other ones closer to the campsites which I wouldn't even step into. Definitely no bare feet in either shower and make sure you don't touch the walls. The float was super fun and beautiful, the boat guys were nice until our last morning, we hadn't even checked out yet let alone there was no info on a checkout time and were not near home or know the area much. My children and I floated down the rapids and caught ourselves at the sand bar of Dawt Mill that we were just staying at. One of the boat dudes asked if i was staying at Dawt mill I said yes but we were checking out today. He then said well then you need to get the hell off our sand. right to me and my children. I got upset and said some words to the guy and asked his name for being so rude. He then told me none of my fucking business. I got out on the other side of the water walked up to the front desk. The guy had already ran up there with his buddy and told front desk whatever he told them. The front desk had no manager on site at first then the lady proceeded to say she was the assistant manager but wouldn't give me her name or the boat guys name. She gave no eye contact and treated me like a pest, She then said checkout was at 11am so just shrugged her shoulders about how he acted, and then said "that's not what she heard" and then rudely said sorry we've been getting a lot of ppl not staying here going on our sand so he was probably just frustrated. Which is not my problem when he made me feel so unwelcome and uneasy, ruined my last morning and we weren't even hanging out on the sand we just got off the rapids there cuz it was easier with my children in stow. I didn't think I'd be so unwelcomed not even an hour after the checkout time. After not being able to assist me properly she called the boat guys manager who then said that it should've been okay for us to swim there since we were just there staying out of the way and the guy just probably didn't remember me and that he was sorry for what happened etc, I said thankyou for the sorry and consideration and I was glad there was actually someone with customer service around, but we just loaded up and left and not sure if we will ever be back. There is too many other places available on the North Fork River to be explored.
