I came here the other day for a run and it was great! The path is wide enough for plenty of people. Plenty of parking on the weekdays. Lots of bathrooms on the trail.

Fantastic spot to walk and enjoy nature without needing to drive far (well, maybe far depends on your San Diego location). The path around the lake is paved and well maintained, mostly flat. There's a lot of parking and multiple entry points as well.

Great place to connect to nature and relax, unwind and let all your stress melt away. Still waiting to catch a large mouth bass. I've seen big Momma swimming near the reeds by the jetty, I guess she's stuffing herself with the thousands of shiners that swim around there. Oh well.

Beautiful came late morning. Definitely bring a hat or some shades and plenty of water. Most of trail is paved and some area to break away from the paved trail. One of my fave paved trails. Ran 2.5mi walked 3mi. Today was a good day.

Great spot for walking, biking, fishing, or just relaxing by the water. The trail is paved and easy, and there's plenty of space to spread out. Peaceful, clean, and a nice break from the city.

My first time walking at Lake Murray, and it was so easy and enjoyable! There are trash bins, bathrooms, and plenty of spaces to relax. You can walk, run, bike, boat, kayak, or have a picnic. There's lots of parking too. I love this place, it's perfect for relaxing and enjoying the surroundings.

Lake Murray is very nice with a lot of goose , ducks , and an abundance of wildlife and flowers

Clean park, nice paths and many different entry ways to this place on all sides of the park. Overall this place is beautiful and hasn't lost any of its beauty for the 25 years I have been coming here. The mosquitos are crazy summer evenings and totally swarm, but that seems like a migration thing as a part of nature.

This place is such a gem! Easy parking and lots of benches spread throughout the loop. My fiance and I have recently been looking for parks nearby where we can have an afternoon stroll/jog and I think this is probably our favorite one so far! The path is a black pavement, which makes for smooth terrain to go running on. On a gloomy day, it reminds me of green lake in Seattle, WA.

Great place to get outdoors and walk or bike. Plenty of parking, picnic tables, trash cans and bathrooms around. We enjoyed seeing all the ducks. We hope to paddle boat next time. We will be back to walk our dogs.

View of the lake from the playground!

WALKERS/RUNNERS & **RECREATIONAL** BIKERS: this is your spot!! 5.7 MILE PAVED LOOP It's so great! The birds, the water, the sun, the distance! So much to love, see and do! IS IT SAFE FOR KIDS TO BIKE RIDE? If your kiddo has relatively good situational awareness and can take instructions from you like "stay to the right" then you'll be fine. If your kiddo is just learning how to ride - I suggest a different location where there isn't so much two-way traffic. ATTN FAST BIKERS! The speed limit is 10MPH however there are plenty of opportunities to go beyond when there is no one in your way. Just watch out around those corners (kids!)! Have fun and enjoy the loop!!

We reserved campsites 89 and 90. Campsites were about $37 per night, after the reservation fee, and could fit a maximum of eight people in two tents. Several of us had car set-ups and when we called the reservation office, they confirmed that sleeping in the car wouldn't count towards the two tent limit. Each site also has two dedicated parking spots. If you have additional cars, it'll be $6 per car/night and there's overflow parking scattered around the campground. Quiet hours start at 10PM and all campfires must be out (no embers) by 11PM. The bathrooms were fine, considering this was a campground. Showers are coin-operated and you can get 4 minutes for 50 cents. Make sure to exchange your cash at the ranger station before the sun sets! From my friend group, I heard mixed reviews on the showers. It seemed like the girl's side had poor water pressure and usually was cold. But both times I showered, I had decent pressure and the water eventually turned warm. There's also potable water throughout the campground, with a specific spout with filtered water (for taste). Our campsites were pretty great especially site 90. It's flat and right under a huge tree so it was the perfect spot to hang out and escape the sun. For tents, the ground was kind of rocky so make sure to bring a pad or air mattress if you can. Each site comes with a table and a fire pit. For firewood, you have to purchase from the campground because they don't want you to accidentally introduce any invasive species. Overall, great campsite with decent bathrooms! We didn't get a chance to explore the campground and the trails around it so I would love to come back one day. Oh and dogs are allowed as long as they're on a leash!

The bathrooms were clean and fully stocked with toilet paper and free tampons on the women's side. There were 2 men's and 2 women's showers at the bathroom closest to our site. One of the women's showers didn't have the best water pressure and sprayed more of a mist...but the other was fine. Neither appeared to have warm water, but it wasn't freezing either, so it was bearable. We heard the men's showers did have warm water though. Showers were 50 cents for 4 minutes, and then you could add additional quarters to add on 2 minutes each. There were spigots and bottle refill stations too near the campsites. I'd probably avoid the sites right next to the restrooms unless you want to hear toilets flushing, the loud hand dryer, and foot traffic throughout the night.  There were plenty of trees so most of the campsites around us at least had at least some shade during the daytime. The only issue I really noticed was that some campgrounds were pretty close together so you will probably hear noise from neighboring sites. There was plenty of parking too, but these were also close to the sites, so one night we heard the sound of cars constantly locking throughout the night. Not the biggest issue though and you should probably bring earplugs while camping if you're a light sleeper. Overall, these campgrounds are nicer than a lot of other ones I've been there where you have to drive into town to shower. The tradeoff though is that with the nicer facilities and proximity to neighboring sites, it doesn't feel as remote and sort of feels like you're one step away from civilization. So maybe not the best place to camp if you're looking for a more true camping experience.

As we pulled around to stop, the female attendant shrieked and pointed at us, as if we were criminals! The officers were literally sitting in their vehicle, WAITING for this to occur, because it is ILLEGAL to turn LEFT here, even though you are IN THE LEFT TURN LANE, with a GREEN arrow directing you to TURN LEFT! I was astonished at this absurd intersection and the way it MISDIRECTS drivers! I protested to the officer, who said there was a sign posted earlier in the median which stipulated 'U Turn ONLY' (NOT above the traffic light where it might actually have been seen)! I indicated I had NEVER encountered a left turn green arrow at an intersection, with an available roadway, where you were NOT allowed to turn LEFT ON A LEFT GREEN ARROW. I indicated that the generally accepted understanding across the USA is that if you are in the LEFT turn lane, and you get a left green arrow, you turn LEFT! I asked the officer to issue a warning only, he said he could not, it was 'zero tolerance' due to the volume of accidents at this intersection going into South Carlsbad State Beah Park! Their CONFLICTING traffic directions at this intersection is CAUSING these 'accidents'! And there will be more! Now I have fines, possible points on my license. TOURISTS BEWARE! This is a racket! I was genuinely shocked and had to question whether she was even paying attention to the information we were providing. As a customer, I expect a basic level of professionalism, courtesy, and attentiveness when making a reservation. Instead, the interaction left me feeling ignored and unimportant. Hearing what appeared to be someone sleeping while assisting guests is completely unacceptable and created a very poor first impression of the company. I have camped for many years, all over, and none were as bad as this. I called to check a few things on the phone before booking my reservation. They were very nice, polite, but were not forth coming with how this place works. The price is outrageous. Especially when many of the advertised features have been closed for a while. There are no designated camping spots and from what I can tell, they don't really seem to have any cap to reservations. We arrived at 755 am, yesterday, holiday weekend. Check in 8 am. There were about 6 cars in line but it took about 10-15 minutes to check in because of how slow they are to check people in. Then we drove in anticipation from zone 1 all the way to zone 9 looking for a spot, somewhere to camp, set up, relax, and enjoy the weekend. No such luck. Dozens and dozens and dozens of people every where. No marked camping spots. People camped on rocks, up against the mountain, in the creek bed, all over the place. People on top of each other, tent to tent. We left, and we know we were out the $ but we wanted some place to unwind and relax and this seemed like major stress and chaos. When we drove out there were another 10 cars in line waiting to check in. I have no idea where they were going to find a camping spot. Lesson learned to make sure that when you have a reservation for camping that you actually have and actual designated camping spot.
