    Swings, picnic table & Bbq

Beautiful park for all ages. Large grass area with lots of trees for shade. Bbq grills and picnic tables too!

Eucalyptus County Park is my family's current go to park. A park that was remodeled a few years back. A park that needed a facelift real bad. Is now a decent park to bring the family too. The work that was done to it is not bad. They really did a good job. The last park my family was going to for a couple of years is now too small for my grand kid to play in. He has outgrown it. So we needed to find a bigger park with a bigger jungle gym with more slides and more swings. We found that park in Spring Valley off of Edgewood Drive. With one entrance in and with one exit out. One needs to pay attention to the entrance sign because it is really easy to miss. Drove right passed it the first time. But once you find the entrance, you will have no problem finding parking. The bathroom, port-a-potty, is also in the parking area. Which seemed to be clean and in good working order at the time. Once your at park. There is a small wooden bridge you need to cross to get to the actual park. The park itself is full of tall trees that provide lots of shade on warm sunny days. A nice place to have a picnic. A covered area with picnic tables that resemble what you would see at a high school. There is also two separate play areas on different sides of the park. One that is gated and one with a low brick wall. Both areas are safe and offer different types of park rides but both having swings, my grandson's favorite. A park that was remodeled a year or two back is now our destination for when my grand kid wants to go to a park. Very spacious with plenty of room to run around in. Lots of trees to have a picnic under. Plenty of parking. Lots of swings. The list of good things about this park are plenty. This park is a winner.

This park is a park that brings back fond memories of my childhood. There was not a year that my mother brought my family for one of 5 siblings, 6 including myself, for a birthday celebration. The park has definitely seen better days, but it stills has not lost its ability provide space for families to enjoy and afternoon or evening. The park has playground equipment of for the little ones. (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/-Cxfiwfw-pfHz1vdtZv4fA?select=9xs-OkdzZEzSAM2W2BZf4A#yRBtVHgVojyxllce7PIDNg) It also has plenty of tables and grass area for picnics or for playing card games an such. The park is level when you first walk onto but then it becomes inclined by a slope. The park has trash cans, water fountains, and a public bathroom available. It also has horse shoe pits and a pavilion for larger groups. (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/-Cxfiwfw-pfHz1vdtZv4fA?select=9xs-OkdzZEzSAM2W2BZf4A#WSHwS2XjtP6jzJWJ9IMmpQ) Over the years the park has lost some of its huge eucalyptus trees due to storms and disease, but the county workers have done their best to keep the park maintained, even under budget cuts. One thing to note is that you need to be careful when you walk in certain areas because the ground had been over run by pocket gophers. We brought the grand kids to play here today for our "three park day". This place is still as beautiful as it was when I was a kid playing here. There are two seperate play grounds here. The lower play ground is better for bigger kids while the upper is better suited for smaller children. There are many concrete tables here that seem perfect for a school field trip. They also have a horseshoe area to play that is away from the kids. There is a huge boulder in the center stating that the tree's were planted in the 1800's. They have restrooms available which are almost always clean and stocked with toilet paper. The kids had a great time! Just be careful allowing them to play on the spinners too long. My baby got so dizzy he threw up half way home. Thank God we were able to pull over in time. Lovely park!

Great little grassy park right on the middle of La Mesa. This park offers play grounds, picnic tables, and parking. Dogs are allowed but must stay leashed. I like this park because it is not just a flat piece of land.. There are hills. There are plenty of trees as well to offer shade on those hot afternoons.

Great park. Some of it has shade but large section in the sun. Gets too hot. Lots of picnic tables. Many picnic tables in the shade. Restrooms are outhouses at the moment. It looks like they are still remodeling them. Doing some renovations in the upper portion. Lots of eucalyptus trees so you can find some shade. A lot of grass areas to run and kick balls.

Nice park. The only con is by the freeway.

This is a nice clean park . It has nature, swing area, playground area, picnic area, trees all around. It's very relaxing. Con Need more shade areas closer to the tot lot.

Standing In the inch of water in the little moat. He is confused why I'm down there. Loving this California rain.

This park opens at 5:30am. It's a great place to take your dog to run around before the regular crowd of kids gets there. If it's kinda rainy, the kids might not even show up. It's fenced and plenty of shade. On the other side of the fence it looks like there are some gravestones with wooden crosses on them. Interested to know the story on that.

I'd added parks in La Mesa and surrounding areas to my favorites in a map app a while ago, intending to check them out but hadn't.

I had read this was a secret spot in La Mesa where folks could get a nice bump in their heart rate…read moreby ascending and descending these steps. The La Mesa Public Stairs were located on a hillside neighborhood in which the layout was essentially pedestrian connectors between three different terrace levels. You can park curbside on any street and then stroll over to the foot of the first set of stairs on Windsor Dr. The climb was pretty shaded when I came on a mid-afternoon, but it wasn't long before my breathing picked up. I occasionally use the stairmill at the gyms where I exercise. However, the machine can't simulate the elevation change that occurs when you are out in nature's terrain. At the top of each set, you had to cross a small street to reach the beginning of the next steps. I was able to go up and down one time in less than 10 minutes. If you repeat the path and do multiple circuits, then one can easily spend between 30 minutes to a full hour of cardio burn. The views near the top were pretty as you get a glimpse of some of La Mesa's upscale properties. Kids and leashed dogs would enjoy the climb as this is a family friendly activity.

MOST GOALS CAN BE ACHIEVED 1000 steps, and I kept thinking, "That's how we reach our goals. One step at a time." I'm on step 222. Or 22. You got me step 2. But at least I'm stepping forward.  DO I NEED A DEFILIBRATOR? It's more of a walk rather than a workout though your heart rate increases. You can stay after the Meet Up and complete your own workout, which will likely be rigorous.  I would totally make this a stop for nonlocals visiting. You could seriously wear leisure clothes like jeans or workout wear. Actually, after the secret stairs I went to 24 hour and had an invigorating barbell session. I wore Doc Martens and that was suffice. Captipating views of the sky, the aweness of individual homes, landscapes, and land structures.  It was sort of like walking in nature.  Respect the residents-please.
